Does he have spurts of activity?

Or does he play with other dogs? It's possible that he sprained the limb. My sister has a pit bull/jack russell mix who jumps like a spring sometimes. She has been known to sprain her right shoulder.
Keep the vet appointment, for sure. It's possible, though, that if he was doing something that he normally does not do, he strained or sprained the limb and he will be fine in the long run.
You have to be careful with the aspirin. It works for some things for dogs, but not all of them. My brother had a golden retriever who, when they got him, they thought he had hip dysplasia and the dog had been given a regular diet of aspirin. Turns out his knee ligaments were blown and aspirin was the worst thing that they could do for him.
Good luck. Hope your dog feels better.

If that is the only activity you pay for you are lucky!!
My daughter plays school sports (which cost money), is in the performing choir (planning on going to California to perform $600 per student), plays competitive volleyball ($800 fee without travel, shoes, food and such), competitive softball (depending on the team is $400 to $700 to sign plus gear, protective clothing, travel, food etc...). She hopes to be able to get a job to help with some of the cost but she doesnt turn 16 for another few months. Sheesh homecoming cost about $200 prom is about the same if not more. Why not check into fundraising. My daughter and I work hockey games, football games and other activities to raise money (because truthfully without sponsors, donations and fundraising I dont think I could do it) Where there is a will there is a way is my motto.
Change my activity? (sm)
The only thing I can think of that might have caused it would be 8-9 hours of transcribing every day. Unfortunately, I'll probably be typing my days ago for another 20-30 years (LOL).
If he uses it for only job-specific activity,
x
Mine isn't a foreign body but rather attempted activity with the doc.....
I typed this report. The female doc was very calm and normal during the entire report. Male presented with penile pain and discharge. I get to the plan and she is saying she recommends he go to a urologist but he requested only "female" urologists and there was not 1 in any of the local or extended local areas, blah, blah, blah and I am kinda thinking to myself this was a little bit strange. Then she gets to the end and proceeds stating she needs me to type a separate note and title it incident note. He unclothed himself as soon as she walked in, was playing with it, and was trying to get her to play with it, etc. She gave great detailed info and I was laughing so hard throughout it it was so hard to type it. I know it wasn't funny for them but hearing the incident was hilarious for me. I was just picturing working in the office when all this was going on. Turns out he had done the nurse the same way and what I didn't get was why the doctor wasn't forewarned so she could make sure someone assisted her in the room or possibly this did happen but wasn't in her incident report.
