put one of your children in the front even though you have repeatedly told him not do to this. Our 6-y/o daughter asks to ride in the front whenever she is with him and I am not there. He, of course, allows her to do this. We have been through the ringer with her with kidney cancer in 2005/2006 and the thought of his carelessness is driving me crazy. I don't want her to survive cancer to get killed in a car accident because daddy cannot say no, and sees no danger in her riding up front either in his car (which has a passenger side airbag) or in his truck (Ford F-250). His justification in the truck is that she is safer up front because it has a shoulder belt, the cab seat only has lap belts. The car he has no justification, just doesn't believe me that it is unsafe (despite the stickers in his car). I'd hate for her to get hurt just so my point is proved. The only good thing is he only drives them anywhere maybe once a week, but still that is too much for me. He denied it of course when he came home just now, but my 8-y/o came in and told me. She knows they are not allowed in the front seat. I told him that if he cannot have them ride in the back then he just won't be taking them anywhere anymore, unfortunately this only punishes the kids and is a sucky solution but the only one I see right now (short of going everywhere with them). Any thoughts? I do have a friend whose husband is a cop, thinking maybe I could get him to talk to DH and maybe get it pounded through his thick skull. Just funny (not really) because my DH is a very germ-phobic, which seems to be getting worse lately, kids have started to say he is like Mr. Monk of Monk (we love that show). He freaks out if one of them gets a cut or scratch, just too strange.
