concerned about it breaking off in pieces being so brittle from all the work done on it and now is infected again. Brother, always something. It is a front tooth no less.

I have to have a front tooth removed because it cant be fixed anymore and has had all it can have
done to it. It was damaged when I was young along with the one beside it. Has anyone had a front tooth removed and instead of an implant had a partial or something put in for 1 tooth. What do you recommend other than an implant. I have lost a lot of bone with this tooth so it would be a very long process for an implant. This tooth has cost me a fortune so far.
I have to have front tooth removed after multiple apicos on it and it just keeps reinfecting. The
tooth next to it is also not the best having had surgeries so bridging is not an option. These teeth were broken when I was a kid. Any suggestions other than an implant for the space. This is quite upsetting as I have spent a fortune on these 2 front teeth.
Have dry, brittle hair
Only wash about once a week and dry, brittle, fly-away, breaking. Anyone use anything that really helps this situation? Thanks!
How about $4,000 for one tooth?
I live in North Georgia and having 1 implant put in, 4000 smackeroos.
Could be tooth abscess?
nm
One tooth, implant
$4,000.00 for me. Have lower partial and all top teeth are crowns but I would estimate, oh, a small fortune.
Long in Tooth (!)
Some amount of gum recession is normal -- That's where the phrase came from: Long in tooth means "getting old."
I recently had some caps redone. They had been put on when I was 16 & now my gums had receded so that you could see the silver part at the base of the ceramic ceramic.
But there is definitely the problem of losing enamel from the surface. I tried a SoniCare for awhile & my dentist told me to stop because he could see little scratches. I think I was being too aggressive with it, but I just didn't feel like my teeth were clean unless I was scrubbing away. Now I just use Oral-B with soft bristles.
Have you used a tooth whitening system?
Like Crest Whitestrips or something else? Anything other than having the dentist do it? (That's so expensive!)
I have a similar problem with an eye tooth
had to have taken out due to bone loss and all and got a flipper until I decide on something more permanent. Mine looks so natural and has no metal so you can't tell at all. Insurance won't pay, was 300.00, but it was worth it because it went in immediately after the tooth was pulled. At first was hard to eat bagels etc but as I got used to it and now have no problems. Here's a site I found and I'm sure there is a lot more info and pictures if you search dental flippers.

Huh? How did you break a tooth there that you wouldn't have (sm)
anywhere else?
I had 1 tooth implant and my gosh,
had no idea it would take thatttttttt long, over a year in fact for 1. Like the above poster said, you have to let heal between this and that. I had a canine tooth done and actually it was from 08/2007 to 12/2008 before finished. What I did not like was the false tooth they tried to insert between going back and forth to do this and that, lots of office visits making sure healing, etc. It also cost me $4,000 for that 1 tooth. Quite expensive but maybe if you have more done, might get a reduced price? My mouth probably most expensive place on me, lots of dental work in the past.
Cost of tooth extraction
How much does a tooth extraction cost? I have no dental insurance so will be paying out of pocket. I am pregnant and since being pregnant this toothache has gotten worse and worse. I am to the point now that I can't take the pain anymore. Also does anyone know if you call a dentist and tell them you are in pain if they will work you in asap? Thanks.....I just never knew that a toothache would be so painful.
Valerian Root
Valerian root helped my son. He took in in liquid form and the tast wasn't so great. Don't know if they have it in pill form.
Root planing
I had that done last year. It was not bad and I am a chicken when it comes to the dentist. Dentist numbed the side the hygenist worked on and it is a diff kind of high-speed instrument especially for plaque removal. It is an ultrasonic tool for teeth. I do not remember seeing any blood, but of course they suction all of the time. This instrument uses water and it is like a mist. My plaque was not that bad. In fact they could have done all four quadrants at one time instead of staging it. They just numbed what certain quadrant in case your teeth are sensitive. It was worth it too. I go every 3 months to get cleaning and checkup and do the flossing thing and have a WaterPik to boot. That price is just about what I paid too, but my dental insurance covered most of it. Hope this helps out. It sounds worse than it actually is. You should be able to see a diff in the gums too. I know I have. I have a great dentist too. I dreaded it, but after it over I felt like I really worried too much about it. I do not think anyone likes the dentist. I do not think that you would regret it. Good Luck.
root canals
good lord what a nightmare
Do you root for the Iggles?
I do!
root veggies
I have read that root vegetables like carrots, beets, etc., absorb the irrigation water & pesticides & this cannot be washed off, so this would be the place to spend the extra money on organic veggies. For other kinds of veggies, just keep in mind that the pesticides often are sprayed in an oily base, so plain water won't get rid of it. You have to use soap (doesn't take much) & then rinse really well. It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing. Also I read an article in Sunset last month about how you can grow your own organic veggies in a very small space, only about 10 x 10 feet, & get quite a harvest out of it.
Hey, I want my post removed
because it sounds dirty, LOL.
Anyone else ever had one ovary removed?
I did and I feel much better and feel like my hormones are not bothering me like they were. I was feeling perimenopausal and feel much more clear now. I had chronic cysts and I think they were whacking my hormones up. Just curious if this is common?
Ovary Removed
I had one ovary removed in September due to a cyst. I was told that after you remove one ovary, sometimes the other one quits working. That is what happened to me. I have been on hormone replacement since last month and I feel so much better. The lack of hormones was causing me to have lots of migraines.
Had my right ovary removed
I had an ectopic pregnancy and had one ovary removed at 48 years old (I'd say pretty close to menopausal age). they said during the surgery they found a huge amount of scar tissue they had to remove and say that could be a reason why I've never gotten pregnant, so they removed all that too. They said they were unsure as to why all the scar tissue because I've never had surgery before and periods were normal, etc. I didn't and don't feel any different than before the removal. IMO I don't think it is having the ovary removed that makes a difference but not having the chronic cysts anymore as to why you feel differnt. My doctor and his partner never told me I'd have hormonal changes, or that the other would quit working or anything different. They did tell me that my chances of getting pregnant are slim to none (which is fine by me cos I don't want any kids - especially at this age). He did tell me that if by chance I do get pregnant I will most likely end up with another ectopic. Oh joy, joy. On another note I just got the best Xmas present yesterday - my period. HA HA HA.
Anyway...I did have an ovary removed and it did nothing to affect my hormones, moods, etc.
They were removed because they became INFECTED
There is NOTHING wrong with a healthy infant or adult foreskin. It does not need to be removed.
& you can thank your lucky stars that when your infected organs were removed, they used anesthesia.
I do have a crown on this tooth and have had a lot of surgeries on it but it is failing now so the
next step is removing it. The teeth on either side are not the best because they were also damaged when I was young with this one.
Have friend who has false front tooth. Can be done. Looks
xxx
Anyone here ever had to wear a flipper until getting a tooth implant and how did it go. nm
:
Did anyone ever have a dental implant for a front tooth and wish to say what
they thought about the whole process with wearing a flipper, etc. until the implant.
Funny about Tooth Fairy reveal
When I told my children I was the tooth fairy, at first they thought I meant I was the "Tooth Fairy" ... as in, I was the one leaving money under everyone's pillows. - Lol I got such a kick out of that! :)
Just goes to show you how strongly they believe in what their parents say and scarey that we have such influence (when we are so flawed).
I always root for the underdog. I hope they win.
Q
it's greed....money is the root....
nm
Valerian root/Benadryl
Valerian root helps, and I have also used Benadryl. Those are the only two things I know of without a rx. Best wishes - I know how bad it can be!
typo, sorry - route not root ! LOL nm

So, I need a root canal. Yipee!!!
And another $600 crown. Yahoo. But they gave me Vicodin!!! (always think of Bill Engval, the comedian, and being Vicodin Man and going parasailing while under the influence)
I had that happen with my first root canal
I was fine for a day or so and then it got really sore. The endodonist kind of brushed me off when I told him I had twinges of pain for a good 2 weeks.
pre root canal meds
Hi, sorry you are feeling bad. I am too, same reason. Here, we have a waiting list for the endodontist and they call you if and when there is a cancellation. I take 2 Advil LiquiGels and 2 Extra-Strength Tylenol every six hours and it works for a while. Do you have antibiotics? Make sure that you check daily for abscess because that is an emergency and must be dealt with. I hope I get mine fixed before my liver falls out from Tylenol. I have had several and now am about to give up because I don't have another $12,000.00 These are all from fillings I had as a child that expanded and made micro-cracks in molars, that then led to this horrible toothache. Last time I had one I had trigeminal neuralgia for 8 months afterward from the injection. Now I know why some people are "suicidal" when they have trigeminal neuralgia. I can't even have cold air on my face or cold beverages or it feels like I am going to die. I am with Hayseed. There has to be a better way to apply fillings and a less expensive way to repair teeth. We are upper middle class and still can't afford all this. Our insurance is of the "very good" variety and only pays a minimal amount for root canals and crowns. Is this discrimination to those of us who have lived to be over 35?
Root toucher upper, have you ever
used any of the men's products for a touchup? I use them (my hubby got it for me 1 time). It is like instant instead of having to wait the 25 or more minutes ladies have to with the products put out for us. I put mine on, ready to take off!
Here's the real root of the problem
This little girl's whole house needs treated. Not just her head. The school nurse needs to be a little more of an educator to this child's family. They need to bag up all stuffed toys for 2 weeks, launder all bedding, hats, coats, gloves, etc. They need to treat everyone in the house, both with shampoo and picking out nits (shampoo doesn't kill nits only live insects), you have to pick out every nit.
Really, the comment on about being clean is not very nice, anyone can get lice and they can cross socioeconomic statuses, not just low-class people with poor hygiene get them, in fact lice prefer clean heads according to my microbiology instructor. They don't cause any known illnesses are just a nuisance.
This child's family needs embraced and educated. Perhaps instead of being a pain in their butts, go talk to the mom, see if she would like help clearing their house, perhaps she just doesn't know what needs done. How awful for this child to be ridiculed and put down by her classmates and their parents because she has a curable problem. Step up to the plate and help the family. She does need to be in school - they aren't an infectious disease.
Dating? I'd rather have a root canal. -(nm)-
I usually root for the woman, but not this time.
Good for Jon, finally. He has taken so much abuse from Kate (she admitted it too). She treated him like another 1 of the kids.
She seems to be the one benefitting most from the show. It's too bad she's willing to tear apart the family for the money. She keeps reiterating its all for the kids but I really don't think so. Maybe she's trying to get herself to believe it.
PS: Yes, I kept the ovaries. But the cervix was removed, - (sm)
which was a good thing, because on routine exam in preparation for the surgery, they found precancerous changes in the cervix. So good riddance to that, too.
Some were removed last night and again this morning
and I saw 1 last night late you probably would not wish to see where BA wished all our jobs to India.
I've had a couple removed
It was well worth it. I had a huge hole in my leg from the last one but it is finally filling back in.
I think maybe the tape could be removed, but why the other things? sm
I like Halloween, too. I love, love, love the orange lights, etc. My friend has her inside and outside decorated like you would not believe. She has a big party every year, and for the kids on Trick or Treat night (hundreds come, literally) She even has the tombstones on the bank and her friend operates the steam machine! Just as the kids approach the porch the mist comes up over the stones! YIKES! I go over to hand out candy. It is a total riot and they love it! Their parents take pictures! She has funny stuff, too. It is just bright and things making noise, etc. They just love it.
For the party she even makes a meatloaf to look like a foot! The tomator sauce is . . oh well, you get the picture.
betcha COMET would have removed it...LOL
Comet powder cleanser would probably have removed it, rubbing alcohol, and probably peroxide....
Yeah. My dad had one lung removed because of
and my sister said that when he was in his hospital room, my mom (who always smokes) and my aunt (who rarely smoked... ever...) were puffing away, in his room!
Oh, I really think you should go to a derm for that, besides having them removed safely....sm
if any look suspicious you would have the opportunity to have them biopsied for your future health. Just want you to be careful!!!
/;) umm no but a friend lost a front tooth and had to go without - which is worse? she'd say us
:)
dental procedure: root planing
dentist says i need this because of moderate periodontal disease. $200 a quadrant x4 = $800 for what sounds like a horrible, bloody procedure. they say they only do two quadrants at a time. does anyone know anything about this, had it done? please let me know what to expect.... thanxabuncha
Also blindfolded while doing the root canal - sm for question
What kind of animal is that on your avatar? At first I thought it was a bearded dragon, then maybe a bird but I'm really not sure. Don't mind me - I'm at that age where I'm needing reading glasses at the end of the day when my eyes are strained. :-)
True Anon, but Christ is being removed out of everything and that isn't right either.
t
when I removed IE 7 it automatically reverted back to IE 6...sm
everything is back to normal now. Thanks
Mine removed surprisingly easy . . .
I was told to hold a hairdryer and get it hot and it would come off easily, but I didn't even need the dryer. Most of it came off in one sheet.
