the underlying read-between-the-lines message of the insurance lobbyist's message was (sm)
to, yes, appeal the denied claim. However, she lobbies for the insurance companies. She comes across sounding like she's on the patient's side but in reality she is on the side of the insurance company. The insurance company gets to deny whatever claims they want right off the bat. That leaves the SICK patient (who needs the coverage NOW when they are sick) to have to go through the appeals process. That could take quite a while. Imagine a cancer patient being denied some form of treatment that is going to help them. They now have to go through the appeals process (or pay out of pocket) in order for that treatment to be covered. In the MEANTIME their cancer is progressing. From the point of view of the insurance company, if they drag it out long enough they don't have to pay for it at all. That same insurance lobbyist was on 20/20 a little while back and basically came right out and said that the insurance companies COULDN'T AFFORD to pay for coverage for sick people. She's not on the patient's side.
E-mail the poster for address - do not post address. NM

Update: I am waiting for doc to schedule an abdominal CT for me - sent my husband a message saying
that they will be scheduling me for a CT today or tomorrow. His answer: 10-4, I hope you get your health in order. Exercise please.
I am having abdominal pain, back pain, bleeding, etc. but I guess if I exercise it will fix all that.
DLL address
Does the error read:
RTHDCPL.EXE-Illegal System DLL Relocation.
I added security to my HP and upon startup, that was the error message I was getting. HP informed me that Windows was encountering some problems and listed a site to do a download to resolve this problem and it only took 2 minutes and worked.
As follows: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=935448
Totally solved my problem. Good luck. If not, just email HP support and they will email you within the hour.
DLL address
Forgot to add that once in the site, under resolution it shows "Download the 935448 package now". It states that this problem "may" occur after installing security updates due to conflicting base addresses and states the problem occurs in the Hhctrl.ocx file before it loads the user32.dll file.
Let me know if this solves your problem.
How did you address it before
since the only thing that has changed is the Dr. part? Just curious? But I think the correct etiquette is:
Dr. April Cox
Dr. Jonathan Grant
# Street Name
City, State 11111
address?
I remember reading the post and had all good intentions of at least sending a greeting card. Could you repeat it? So glad people are thinking of these guys, they will never ever forget it.Sorry I did not get to it sooner, although I am sure anything is welcome at any time.
I'd address the envelope as...
Current Resident 100 Main Street Happytown, USA
...but them I'm a wiseacre like that.
Let me send you my address...LOL!! nm

Many religions address how men and
women wear their hair. Their hair is not the problem.
thanks for the reminder of address,
i remember there are people who do this, but can never seem to find the addresses when needed....God bless!
Found it but won't take my address sm
I need help as well as everything is a "shame to throw out," especially in this economy. I feel bad getting rid of things in and if I throw anything of my husband's out, he goes and gets it back. I wish I could send him away for a few days and rent a dumpster but he is retired, so I just have to look at it and say, "Maybe next week." There is no hope, I should throw away as much as I bring in, but I never do!
Anyone every let someone use their address for ? and gotten into trouble?
My husband just called me and said his nephew who moved to our state from another a few months ago got a ticket. The nephew said he wanted to use our address which my gulliable husband said yes to. This nephew, by the way, has a place to live (think he is in a rented place) and I find it strange he is not able to receive what he needs at his own address. I am very upset over this and am going to tell the nephew when I see him no to his request. I do not want to try and skirt by any legal issues, thereby possibly putting myself into a mess. Anyone had any trouble with anything like this before?
My internet address bar disappeared . . .
all I have is Google and mywebsearch. Anybody know how to get it back?
Thanks
Guess the address was too long..trying again..sm

lock windows
I made my fiance nail shut all the windows in the house when I moved in with him until we bought new windows because lo and behold none of his windows locked. While this was probably not smart in case of a fire I would rather be alive to throw something out the window to get out rather than have someone come through the window at night (or day) and do who knows what.
Another warning about windows being down
I had a friend whose husband had the passenger's side window down and the dog was in the front seat. He was on a leash, but he tried to get some fresh air (small dog as well), he slipped and fell out of the window and was hung by the leash when the husband (while driving) tried to "yank" him back in. He has never gotten over it. Another word to the wise - I wonder if this could be just as much of a distraction as talking on a cell phone while driving. If I had a dog, I think he/she would be in the back seat, and I would literally treat him/her more like a child and belt the animal in to be safe. Sorry to hear of the loss in your life. It must have been devastating.
....here. Maybe the windows will be open if it's
s
yea - I need windows, gutters, among
other things but I decided 79.00 wasn't going to get anywhere close to what I needed for that! I might as well die if I can't have something I want every now and then.
Yes, this conversation didn't address the teacher aspect.
We got off on another related subject. Fortunately some other posters stayed focused on what you actually asked, so at least it wasn't a successful hijacking, LOL. I don't have kids, but what I remember is teachers never saying anything either way. And that is how it should be since each family has their own thing going on.
Gotta make sure I have that address! Sounds GOOD. NM

I always lock the doors/windows too, but
then today I saw this.

Opinions on bedroom windows...
I am bringing this up from a thread below since I would like to get some opinions. I have room darkening shades that I have stapled right onto the trim but it does not work quite as well as I would have hoped. I have not found a way to block it so that no light comes in at all. I have blankets over the curtain rod and blankets laying across the top because of the light that comes in at the top.
Also he runs a fan to block daytime noise and so it causes the blankets to move and flutter.
Here is an idea I had but would have to figure out how to build it. Window cornice(?) that would cover the entire window. Four 2x4s long enough to box in the window completely and piece of plywood over it, cover with fabric of some kind (curtainy)and install it on the window. I would also like to figure out a way to make it removable so during the days he's not in there I would have natural light. I was even thinking I could insulate the inside of the box.
I am looking for any and all opinions. Even the littlest light in there bothers him.
I think you have a conflict between windows and iTunes...
probably, Windows Media Player is set as the default. I use iTunes, and when I installed it, I set it as my default player, and I only use iTunes for all of my music "work" on the computer. Try putting a regular music CD into your computer. You might get a message with a list of programs to play the CD. Select iTunes, and there should also be a little checkbox that says something like "set as default" or "only use this program for this type of file" Something like that.
Once you get it going, you should simply be able to drag the music you want right over to your iPod on the left side of the screen in iTunes and just drop it in.
When I first got my iPod, I also had problems. It's very frustrating! My husband gave it to me for a birthday gift, and I was so frustrated that I threatened to just throw the thing out (iPod, not husband). Now, however, I think that the iPod is the best thing to happen since man walked on the moon! Just wait until you start subscribing to podcasts!
oh, and open windows to air out home...
gotta change that air sometime........LOL
and when windows are opened, central a/c is off....
gotta be careful with mold/mildew.....which thankfully have never had in 30 years in s. fla....
have been for 30 years - tho do open windows
to listen to the birds before the world arises...but now we don't have to - they're chirping at 2 a.m.
LOL
We had new windows put in our house over the summer so
we now need to stain all of them. Ugh. We did not want vinyl inside, because our moulding and doors are all wood. This should be fun. Have to try to match the exisiting woodwork. At least I will be busy this winter.
Replace the windows in your house.
If you have an old house, you probably have a ton of air escaping through your old windows. The initial cost will be a good chunk of cash, but it will be worth it from years of energy savings to come.
Yes, I guess you have a "genuine" version of Windows
and not an illegal copy. Can't say that for many of us using company equipment, lol.
With those big leaded-glass windows the builders put
in, it's kind of hard to hide when the lights are on inside and you are in the LR. If I'm in my office and DH isn't in the LR either, I just peak out to see who it is. I may have to replace that dumb front door, but the window in the door is the only window in the living room. Stoopid builders.
Still keeping the windows open, even at night
Here in So. Indiana, we are finally past the heat wave and really having some enjoyable weather.. but are still desperate for some rain. Won't even thinking about burning any wood in the stove until December.
45 here; heat on or windows open today? (nm)
Be sure to open a coupla windows....chili is a fart-fest...sm
They'll get to jumpin' up and yellin' at the TV/game after feeding and all of a sudden somebody will rip a ripe one! Ya may as well consider making that classic Knorr Swiss spinach dip with lots of shallots/onions as well.... Cat
Change the locks on your doors, nail the windows shut
and fill out a restraining order against him.
I felt it here in NE Indiana for about 10-15 seconds, rattled the windows and shook the couch. nm

Try scrub ing/mopping with baking soda and vinegar and keeping windows open as much as possible - nm

If I don't read before I go to sleep I can't fall asleep. I will read sm
until I begin to fall asleep. They say reading relaxes you fully and it works wonders for me.
I used to suffer from insomnia, but not since I've been doing this - about 5 years now.
Plus, I've grown so much and have gained wisdom by doing so. I enjoy Christian books and reading the Bible.
Thanks for the update. I'm sorry about
your brother and his family. What a shame. I'm glad Sasha had a good day. It must be really hard for you, because you probably want to pour your heart out to your brother about Misha, but you probably don't feel comfortable doing that with his loss, too. Well, I'll be thinking about you and sending up prayers, now for your whole family. I hope tomorrow is a better day, and so on, and so on.
Thanks for the update
Hi Stephanie. Glad to hear that your trip to the doctor was helpful. I know I really need to
get into the exercise too. Never was that big on exercise before, but now with the pain and fatigue, it is really hard to get motivated. I will just have to force myself. Yuck!!!
Update
I should add that I already get weekly massages and have for the last 4 years. My therapist has been advising me to try chiro for about 3 of those years. Of course, I waited until I really hurt before I went! I asked a friend of mine where she was going and she said that she really trusted him, so I decided to try where she goes. He took a detailed history and 2 x-rays. He also gave me a little adjustment, which has helped a little. It was just gentle pressure. I go back tomorrow to see about a treatment plan.
Thank you very much to everyone who offered suggestions of what to look for. Your back is really nothing to mess around with!
Update on dog from below sm
The poor thing died. I'm so heartsick. The police want an official statement from all of us who saw this morning (there were 4 of us). The owner said her dog was "poisoned." I'm going up to the station in a while to talk with the chief. I'll have more information later.
Update on my vet job
So I started out just cleaning nights and giving the animals fluids/meds on the weekends and cleaning more. One of the day girls fell down some stairs so the vet asked me to fill in for her. I got a crash course in doing anesthesia! I really like it but have had a couple animals stop breathing a few times and one his heart actually stopped. I almost peed my pants when that happened. I also got to do x-rays and an EKG on a dog Monday. If only this job paid better than transcription
Update......
Well, I just checked my account again and the $2420 is back in the account due to non-sufficient funds. There is, however, a $34 non-sufficient funds fee that will be refunded back to me after the dispute is over. I know that in the big picture of things this does not sound like a lot of money, but it's my money I worked for and intend to get back. I also called the bank back and made sure that PayPal could not try to take out the money again since it was reversed due to NSF. After the dispute and we know more information, I can totally freeze PayPal from ever taking any money out of my account again. Right now it can only be done for the exact amount they tried to take out yesterday. I also told PayPal to take every bit of information they had on me out of their system, that I would never be needing their services again.
The scammers just didn't count on me being a poor working girl with little money left at the end of the month. Maybe they should give working a try instead of trying to steal other people's hard-earned money.
Thank you all for your replies. This just makes me all the more aware of what I am doing on-line. I have bought many items on-line, and this is the first time anything like this has happened to me. If they hadn't been so greedy, I probably would have had to wait out the whole ten days.
Thank you for the update sm
I started to ask yesterday but didn't send my post through because I thought it might be to painful. Please know that many here are thinking about you. Prayers.
Thanks for the update. That was
enjoyable to read.
Sounds like the birds appreciate each other already.
Yesterday I had a great time watching several cardinals bathing in my sprinkler. It is so hot that they stayed in the water for hours. My impatiens appreciated the extra-long shower they received because the cardinals were so cute. It's not my day to water today, but the cardinals show up now and then, hoping.
They ignore the shallow birdbath.
Thank you for the update
At least the police know about the situation. Maybe they can have a talk with the owners when they return.
If you know anyone who doesn't live in your neighborhood who would like to have a sheltie - you know, if it were me, I would give it to them. The neighbors have been gone so long, if the dog disappears one night, who is to say what happened, right? They don't deserve to have a dog if they are going to treat it this way.
JMHO
thanks for update
Hi Trose,
Glad you called your brother and went to your doc today....ERs on the wknd are rough. Hope you get feeling better soon. Keep us all updated. Cat
Update...
First of all, thanks to everyone for their thoughts.
I went to the hospital myself and began asking questions of the charge nurse. She was very helpful and reviewed the chart and also got on the phone to the various doctors to answer my questions.
The problem is not what I thought it was. He WAS evaluated by a doctor and even had a CT scan in the first 30 minutes after he was admitted. None of the family knew this as no one had made it to the hospital at this point. Apparently, FIL just did not remember this. I guess the moral to this is do not let a patient out of your sight even for a short period of time.
He is being kept n.p.o. due to the head injury and in case they needed to operate (which by the way they are doing tomorrow to relieve compression on the spinal cord.) He was not given dextrose through his IV because of its potential to cause swelling, which is not a desired effect in a patient with a head injury. He did get food trays today, but will not receive anything else until after his surgery first thing in the morning.
Thanks again for everyone's recommendations.
