Depends upon company policy.

When I was a waitress at a restaurant, we had to pay for our own food. However, we got to eat "mistakes" instead of tossing the food out. One of my kids works at a restaurant and employees only get discounts.

This is total BS ! Every policy policy must have a beneficiary!..nm
Even one's bank accounts have a beneficiary named!
How is he going against any policy? He is not
reading passages to the students, it is just on his desk. Even though they have taking organized prayer out of the school, each individual has the right to pray during school, and any student can bring their Bible to school and read it during breaks, etc. No violation as far as I can see.
I also saw an IVF doc on TV who said that it is actually against their policy to do IVF.....sm
in these circumstances, he basically condemned the doctor (and of course he does not know who the IVF doc was), and said that the doctor would be going against medical ethics to use IVF on a fertile woman who already has six children, that the procedure was meant for infertile couples, and that the doctor was really going against sanctioned medical rules in this case....I have to wonder why, I understand that the girl could be psychologically ill and unbalanced, but does that mean that her parents and the medical community had to go along with her distorted fantasies........how cruel is it to bring children in to the world you cannot possibly provide for, just for your OWN sick gratification.....and if young girls are seeing this, how many chldren can the government possibly fund for 18 years??? I am so thankful and blessed with my children, but we stopped having children when we knew we could only truly and adequately support the babies we already had. This is unbelievable!
The best policy is
I don't recommend lying. Your mom needs to learn something anyway.
If she can't understand your reasons (no matter what they are), it should be her issue, not yours.
I just tell them I have a personal policy
related to telemarketing and take my number off their list. They have to do that by law once you tell them. Eventualy the calls do stop.
Wow..wish we had a nit free policy. sm
I agree she DOES NOT need to be in school. This family has been educated on lice and the health department came to help them clean last year. They are just LAZY. I do not need to embrace the family and help them clean up the lice like the above poster mentioned. I am with you...nit free policy and no school if they have them!
There was no name listed at all on his policy
Out of his wife, his children (2, me being 1 of those) I was the only living child. When I was contacted about the policy, I was told they would try and find the heirs (my brothers 2 children who then would half my brother's share as brother had died in 1973). My father died in 2004. These children were not located by the insurance company in a year and they sent me the balance. I knew they were entitled to the other half as my brother's heirs but not found. Probably good thing in the long run, sometimes others in charge know because both children were druggies, in trouble with the law (girl 37, died in 2007)and had they been found, might have caused their demise earlier than real life did. Father's estate not probated as he wanted to give most everything away prior, had all arrangements made as far as his funeral down to having things paid for and even the music selected.
How come?? Every policy NEEDS a beneficiary!...nm
nm
I never saw the policy, never knew he had
He could have made it out to his second wife (who died before my father) but I have no idea. I was contacted saying I had insurance money coming to me. I had to furnish a death certificate of my brother, my stepmom and then they asked for names of kids of my brother, last known address. An insurance company is pretty thorough when getting information. They do not take just at face value. They do their work before paying out the $$$$.
eBay policy states.....sm
that the sender has 30 days to send the product. If they don't or can't prove they sent it then you can file a complaint with eBay, and they'll check with the seller who will have to either prove they sent the item (i.e. provide postal information with confirmation #s, insurance information, etc) or the seller will have to refund the money. They do tell you that if the seller has "disappeared" that they may not be able to get the money back; however, at the same time they will block them from selling again. My husband & I have bought a lot of stuff on ebay as well as sold a lot. We always ship within 72 hours and most items we've won we've received with a week. I did have one purchase that the seller kept coming up with excuses for not sending it until the 30 days came and eBay contacted her to ship it or else and she finally sent it... but she did refund my shipping fees because of the aggravation and she wasn't asked to do that.
New Bank Policy on Credit
I went to the bank today to apply for a new line of credit... they had this sign posted outside the door.
Wal-Mart corporate policy states....sm
that if you ask the person at the kiosk overseeing the self-check out lines to check you out they have to. Wal-Mart has gotten a bad reputation for not hiring people and then claiming their lack of check out lines being manned by humans is due to not having enough staff. Bull crap - if you pay well you can get good employees. I NEVER check myself out and provide free labor. I rarely go there but when I do, if there's more than 4 people in line ahead of me then I go to the self-check out lines and have the person overseeing them check them out. A couple of times they gave me flack about it and I requested the store manager be called... and then the store manager made them ring me up because the manager knew it was corporate policy.
My husband has asked the manager why they even have 20 checkout lines when he's never seen more than 2 cashiers working at any time of the day. Good question I say!
I wouldn't want to make policy on this issue
With my own cats, though, I have always harness trained them. You put a harness on them instead of a collar and hook the harness to a long leash that's clipped to the clothesline. They can run up and down the length of the clothesline and it seems to satisfy their need to be outside. They can chase butterflies, watch squirrels, and sniff all the good smells that are out there. I didn't want them running loose because there are too many things that are dangerous and could hurt them. I also didn't want them getting into neighbor's trash.
I'm not in favor of cats running loose b/c it's too likely they'll get run over or otherwise hurt, but I'm not sure it's as bad as the article states. Atleast not with domestic cats. Sounds to me more like a feral cat problem. They need to know for sure before making laws that might not even fix the problem.
New high school cell phone policy
Friends of our work at a local high school. That school has become fed up with cell phone usage in their school, so they have become rather devious.
If a cell phone is caught ringing, the teacher takes it and sends it to the office. The only way the student can get their phone back is if the parent come to pick it up. Even if the student is 18.
But the nifty thing? The V.P. scrolls through the address book and tries to identify some of the other students. Then she goes to their classroom, stands outside the door and calls their phone from the confiscated phone. If she catches the student answering the phone - automatic Saturday school.
Sounds almost like entrapment.
I have had luck with QVC. A little pricey, BUT, great return policy and good selection. This is a gr
to buy a swimsuit - very low prices. Oh, how could I forget? I got a really cute bikini on ebay this spring and I loved it! I don't walk around wearing a bikini, but I do like to wear bikini tops around our pool and it was a really nice piece. It was around 5.00 brand new. Good luck.
I tried a big company, but
I didn't like the rigidity of their plan. You want somebody who is flexible in the cleaning rotation if they rotate their area of concentration. I mean, this company wanted to waste a clean by detailing my office and bedroom and laundry area. Nobody sees those areas, so if I have company coming over, attention needs to be paid to the areas we'll be using, you know? But they had to follow their national plan.
Plus, DH and I didn't appreciate having to spend every other day off preparing for them to come. Some days you want to spend in the yard and let the house go, but when somebody is coming to clean, you need to have picked up so they can vacuum and wipe counters, etc.
Which company did you use? NM

I went with a company...sm
We went with InCharge. The credit cards were out of hand and I was fed up. It took 1-2 months to get everything set up. We pay them $40 a month for their service, but the interest rates were knocked down to 6% so we are still saving bunches of money. We have have all the credit cards paid off in 2 more years. As for working out something with the credit card companies directly, they would not work with us so this is the route we went. Do not regret it at all.
Which company has this.
:
unwanted company
Ditto -- Just don't answer the door. We moved to the country to get away from that sort of thing and it still happens. I hate it too.
Just because a company offers 8....
Just because a company offers 8 cpl doesn't mean they won't up that for experience. I was offered 8 and said no and now I get 10 cpl.
For what company? See, that's the thing - I
have tested for numerous companies, and passed with flying colors, then when it comes down to the job offer, they offer me about what I am making now. That is why I would like to just know what companies out there are paying 10 cpl so I can just bypass all the ones that offer low pay; otherwise, I just see myself wasting my time, taking all these tests and in the end being offered no more than what I'm getting now. Can anyone out there who makes 10 cpl tell me what company they work for?
misery and company
I'm not glad that you all suffer too, but a little relieved. Mine is a little like an electrical hum - white noise came to mind for me also. I wonder if computer error tones started mine as it happened right after I had a series of bad dictations where I turned the volume up really high and then when I hit something wrong I got a very loud tone - someone has since told me how to change it to a more tolerable sound.
Actually, I worked for a PC company
a long time ago supervising the commercial aspect. They always tell you that, but they can and do die in walls. We were sent out many times to cut them out after people insisted on using poison.
The best advice that I can offer is that once you get rid of them, you seal off any areas where they can get back in. If you don't do that, then you will continue to have problems.
Now rats instead of mice, I don't know what to tell you to do if they are eating through the walls!
Me personally though, I had a rat as a pet. In fact, we had to put her to sleep about a month ago.
Maybe you should contact the company...
nm
The big company I used was awful.
Different people every time and they used a special schedule they could not alter when I had a special request. An individual would be more flexible, but make sure they are bonded and paying taxes so you don't run into trouble with the IRS.
Would it be possible to ask the phone company--sm
to come out and inspect your line? I don't see where a lawyer would be any good at this point, until something is either proven or disproven. Good luck.
Can't Garnish a Company
You can't "garnish" a company. Garnishment only works with an employer willing to work you court to fork over money from an "employee." You're talking about a company (is it incorporated?) If you didn't go to small claims already, that's your only (best) way out. That way, the company rep MUST show up in court to answer your claim, or offer a settlement. Unless you do some strong-armed persuasion through the local press and exposing the outfit any way you can I don't see any other way out. Also, in our county it's more like $50 to file the complaint, but you can recoup that from the debtor as part of the settlement. And, don't let the small claims court clerk tell you that you need an attorney. You don't--unless you want one. They clerk is duty-bound by their oath to assist citizens in filing their own documents. They can't give you legal advice, but they can and should make sure your paperwork is okay to file the claim. Also, you can always check in with the state attorney general. They could probably work with this as a fraud case and you might have some recourse there. Also, your state--secretary of state for your state would have information on the legalities of this company, which also if you filed a claim in Small Claims Court you could subpoena documents from the company directly to find out their bank, accounting records, etc. Good luck again.
They are all one company , and out of Grenada. sm
illegal in a lot of states.
All I can say is...me too!!! At least you have company in your misery!! (nm)

How about either you or her working for a company .....sm
that offers tuition reimbursement. My brother and sister obtained their degrees this way. It took a lot longer since they both had to work full-time but the education was free.
Some companies offer tuition reimbursement for their employees and immediate family. Might have to do your research but certainly worth it.
I think the only thing is the student would have to pass the class otherwise the company sends you the tuition bill.
BTW, the company I advise you
to avoid is
The Cleaning Authority.
They have a rigid schedule they refuse to deviate from, they mark up your walls with their tools, and they break furniture. They don't know how to properly clean a laminate floor or sinks. You have different workers each time, so tipping well makes no difference in the job they do. Complete waste of money, no matter how many times you meet with the supervisor.
This company seems very sketchy....SM
There is no way I would ever accept this type of job, no matter how desperate I was. No decent company does this to a person. It's like throwing a goldfish in with a bunch of sharks. I would strongly advise him against this.
CUSTODY not company LOL
x
we had a local company that came out to
maybe you just had a bad customer service rep?
His time, not company's.
x
Well, because the company that has me on file is local, all I can do is sm
forward you to this legitimate website http://www.volition.com/mysteryUSA1.html
You will have to do a lot of legwork and contact the BBB, but it's worth it. Some are national, some are local. I am in south GA. So unless you are local, I can only forward you to this website. Good luck!
finding a new mortgage company...sm
Is at the top of my agenda for this year, but it was the plan all along to refinance this year anyway, so...thanks for the support y'all!
Thanks. I am total IC and work for one company..sm
and I have worked for them for 3 years. I do have a FED ID #, as my employer requested that I have one when I first started. Hence, I also have a business name, but I file under my SS# and my personal name, not my business. I thought maybe that would make a difference. I still have the letter, as I keep all of that stuff *just in case.* I know that being an IC, we are *suppose* to file quarterly and I did read somewhere that there may be fines involved if you don't, so I did not think too much about it when it happened. I file in April and everything is in their officed prior to the 15th, so that could not be a reason why the fine, either. Needless to say, I am confused. Maybe I will seek out an accountant this year and leave all that stuff in their hands. It is getting to be a drag and too time consuming for me anyway. just trying to save a buck, even though I know it is deductible. thanks for answering me. I appreciate it.
just me, does that company have a website? If so, would you post it please?
The pharmaceutical company that makes it (sm)
will often offer assistance - go to their web site and check it out. Also Ameriplan, but you would have to check that out too as I am nto sure how much it helps.
Try the company that makes the drug.
We got on a plan for my son through the company and he gets his meds free (Concerta) for at least the next year.
Depending on the phone company, you can..sm
block all extras being charged on a child's phone. When my daughter was in high school, I turned off text messages and all media. Now my youngest son has text only because I now have a family package deal but he is blocked from downloading anything else.
Yes, specifically on my company email.
xx
You need to move to a socialist company because that is what you are. Unfortunately, you sm
live in America where we all have the RIGHT to earn a living. You don't have a RIGHT to my or my husband's hard earned money. We put ourselves through college and if we make a million dollars a year YOU are not entitled to that money if you were poor. That is NOT a just society.
I grew up in the slums. I was told I would never amount to anything. I defied all odds. Went to college, made something for myself, married a college graduate and we are living comfortably. Anyone can do it. I get very ill when I hear of these "entitlement" speeches about how people like YOU think that my money should go to others in society. Give me a break. It's people like you who really don't amount to much because you just rely on others to pay your way. So sad.
what does a company normally offer for PTO yearly
Starting fulltime and just curious?
My DS buy material online for her company. Just

you may wish to consult with your insurance company...sm
to find out how high your insurance is going to leap...she's underage and can't get her own until 18. Perhaps she can pay the difference, but it's gonna be steep. And with all her activities, where will she find the time to squeeze in a job?
In the state we live in you must have a licensed driver over 21 with anyone under 18 who has a learner's permit for 6 months before they can even take the actual driving test. Once they got their license then they had to go to a driving class mandated by the state...(under 18 driver's ed at school didn't count)...provided by dept of transportation taught by a police officer in the courthouse and saw a lot of graphic accident films.
It's scarey out there and at 16 or in some cases even 18 they don't have enough practical knowledge or experience to safely negotiate the freeway or interstates (and don't you think they're not gonna go once you hand them the keys) or steer out of the way of an oncoming wreck or even think about hitting a patch of black ice or hydroplaning. They're too excited.
That's where you come in. Teach her as much as you can before you let her drive. Cat
Maybe Lee owns the company and she thinks
she is PERFECT? Who cares!
Anyone ever use a debt settlement company - sm
like DebtAmerica or something like that, one that eliminates 30% or more of your balance owed, consolidates it and gets each cc to settle on an agreed amount, etc. I am thinking of going that route instead of CCCS company which is just a DMP (consolidates it but you still pay back every penny and interest). Either way you have a big black mark on your credit. I owe a substantial amount and this way I can probably be debt-free in 3-4 years instead of 8 years. I know they charge a fee, and you have to pay taxes on the settled amount but it will be a lot cheaper for me in the long run and I can afford it a lot better. So if anyone has gone this route, please give me your input and who you used and if you were happy with their service, etc. TIA!
and misery loves company.........nm
