"Romance novels" are all grown up now
Nora Roberts and Debbie Macomber are current faves of mine. Nora's books are a little more intense for the most part, Debbie's more funny and lighthearted. Yeah, they've got the requisite happy endings, but they're good fun reads for the most part, particularly Debbie's books.
My romance/drama novel.
I have been in medical transcription for 8 years and since our hospital sent us all home I have taken up writing in my spare time. I would like to invite everyone on the board to check out my website for my small publishing company and read about my romance novel.
I am a real sap when it comes to romance
just like in Say Anything with the boombox, I fall apart when Clint is standing in the rain wanting her to get out of the truck. Another tearjerker for me everytime is The Notebook!
I like Ralph Lauren Romance (nm)

Deep dish; Romance or comedy? nm
Classic sign of an abusive is a very , very fast romance - sm
leading to marriage, which it appears you have done. He has successfully isolated you from your family and controls everything you do. He is deciding where you live, what "he" wants to do, work, etc. You don't mentions kids, and I hope you don't have any, but if you do you need to take back some control if you intend to stay in this one-sided marriage. Sounds like you have no say/input at all, it is his way or no way. My DH gives me grief when I visit my family, as do my in-laws, I go anyway. He doesn't like it but he cannot stop me from going. He knows better than to try. He will make my life living hell until I leave, trying to get to stay, but I think only one time did I give in and not go, and boy was I mad at him for quite some time (and myself for giving in). My DH is very passive-aggressive but most of the time I ignore him but other times he gets me all worked up ready to kill him and then he is fine, and I am all mad. Drives me crazy. But after 12 years of this I have learned not to take the bait so much, and have seriously though of kicking him out, though he's refuse to leave as it "is his house" (it is in his name only but we bought it 10 years ago while we were married, so it is every bit mine as his). So if you get to the point when you are sick of his controlling ways, go see a lawyer. I plan to soon myself just to see where I would stand in the event of a divorce. We both have our faults in my marriage and I think it is smart thing to find out what could or could not happen in the event of a divorce. You might want to see what your rights are too, cannot hurt. As for your sister coming, just say, Mary is coming to visit and tough cookies if this bothers you. She has never been here before and I want to see my sister and niece and if you don't like it make yourself scarce while they are here. ---Good luck.
mystery shopping
Mystery shopping...Has anyone taken part in any of these jobs with a reputable company?
Mystery Shopping
How are you paid? Is it a reimbursement thing? Also, did you pay a membership fee? Thanks!
re:mystery shopping
I belonged to a few. I rarely did the shops. Some only pay like 10 or 20 dollars. Some are not fun. Many were too far away. And a lot of gas stations for some reason, for example you had to take pictures with a digital camera of the inside if they had a store, certain areas outside, the bathroom, etc. One was a vacuum shop - I don't even remember what that one entailed, didn't do it. The restaurant ones are nice, free meal for 2 usually, but of course not too many of those! Free membership for the ones I joined. Definitely not a dream job to make lots of money. Could be interesting though and get you out of the house.
I do some mystery shopping. sm

These are the ones I contract for. I could be out and about every single day if I took all of the jobs they assign.
Mystery shopping companies
Mystery shopping...Has anyone done any work with reputable mystery/secret shopping companies???

PS Everyone intesterested in mystery shopping. I never come sm
to this board, in fact this is my first time in months, so just know that if you have anymore questions after the one I answered below this it probably won't get answered and it's not okay to email me about this because the only email I have is used for work. Sorry!
Hey Gang, It's Shaggy, its a mystery, where is everybody?...sm
We need to find Wally. If you know what this message means, then you know who I am. If you don't know the code, it will just look like a crazy random message. ZOIKS!!
How about the mystery asteroid illness in Peru?

Adam Walsh mystery solved
The guy who did it confessed on his death bed. It was the guy John Walsh always thought did it. I'm glad they will finally get some peace now cause 26 years is a long time to wait.
Check into mystery shops. I have recently sm
signed up for some. There are legit ones out there. Although the pay isn't always great, every little bit can add up. Just NEVER pay a fee to sign up, those are not legit. The legit ones are free to sign up. Like I recently signed up to inspect Exxon gas stations. The pay is only $4 but it only takes maybe 5 mins max. You have to purchase at least $1 in fuel and up to $1 instore product, which both are reimbursed, and then the $4 pay. I found 15+ stores in the same location, etc. So basically I have myself assigned to do 40 stores, 20 each day x2 days. My profit will be $160 and although I am out money for gas and the purchases those will be reimbursed so I really will clear $160 in two days as I will be getting my gas to do the shops reimbursed.
Also, Wal-mart/Sam's hires door greeters and those food sample people who cook and demonstrate with free samples. A lot of those folks are close to your husband's age.
Anybody watch Mystery Diagnosis on Discovery Health?
Amazing how people go for YEARS without the correct diagnosis or being treated for something they don't have.
We play bingo and give out mystery gifts to the winner. Very simple..
Every person who attends the party, bring 1 gift..they are all put under a little table tree and when someone wins a round of bingo, they select gift from under the tree. It can be a lot of fun if you get fun qwirky gifts. We all have a laugh at some of the gifts.
Lake George
There's also Waterslide World nearby - good fun for your kiddies if the weather's hot!
lake george
Yes, we're leaving Monday for three days. No plans to swim at the lake though - just in the heated hotel pool...LOL. We actually going to be in Queensbury, so the main goal of the trip is "kid-style" fun activities. Our "beach" vacation is later this summer in Maine...To be honest, I don't care if it rains all three days while we're in Lake Goerge...I will be happy to get away and my 5yo son will be happy just to have a "little fridge" in the hotel room.
Lake George
Every summer as a little girl we use to camp at Lake George. I loved it!
Yep, George W. is a real
xx
ER MT have you been to Lake George?
We were just there this past July. I love that area. So beautiful. Would love to see it in the fall. Only a 3-1/2 to 4 hour ride from northern NJ for me.
George Clooney, yum yum!
xx
Anything by Boy George or Madonna, but
I also agree with some of the other suggestions, like Ring My Bell, Feelings (gag).
Near Lake George
and the snow, she's a comin' down !
My neighbor, George...
who is taking great care of his wife, who has Alzheimer's, and still finds time to plow the snow off his neighbors' driveway with his tractor.
You mean my husband, George?
lmao. We've been married for years. He just doesn't know it yet.
He was even here in my city not too long ago filming a movie and I missed him!!!! I was so po'd when I found out. Missed him by that much! (said in my best Maxwell Smart voice.) If I'd known I would have gone down and tried to watch the filming.
I heart George.
George Forman grills
I'm thinking of buying one of these electric grills - has anyone used one? I know they are supposed to be healthy because they drain the fat but do they drain so much fat that the food is tasteless?
Saw George with Ravi Shankar . . .
My sister saw the Beatles in Chicago. Sure brings back memories
lake george NY ideas?
We are going to Lake George for three nights, leaving on Monday and returning Thursday. We are staying at the Country Inn and Suites right next to the park. Has anyone ever stayed there? I think it used to be called the Wakita and they redid it in 2006. Any input as to activities, we are 2 adults - mom and dad - and daugther, 8yo, and son 5yo. So far, we are using our season passes for the Six Flags Great Escape, maybe ride the boat Minne Ha Ha on the lake, mini golf... I think there is a drive-in nearby so we might check that out one night if it's nearby. Any personal favorites out there? Has anyone ever been to the Fort William Henry museum?
Oh - and "family-friendly" restaurant recommendations!
Thanks!
Hot at Lake George, even hot in the Catskills.

But ... but ... Didn't ya like and miss George?
Didn't ya like Carter. In the last episode Greene's daughter was on applying as she was a med student and that was neat. But, but, now it's done and gone. Still sniffing.
I think the whole idea of the George Foreman grill
therefore the juices are supposed to come out to make it less fatty. Searing in the pan keeps the juice in but also the fat. I liked the taste from the George Foreman grill, but I didn't like the clean-up :(
I would prefer just to bake in the oven actually. Also in regards to marinading meat. 30 minutes is plenty of time. If you keep it in the marinade longer it tends to make the meat rubbery. Just a thought...
Yeah, very strange that it was George who failed.
I wouldn't have been surprised if Izzy failed, but George?
I had heard ahead of time that Burke was going to walk out on the wedding, but I heard it was because he didn't make chief, or because McDreamy made chief instead, and I didn't see how the 2 were related. I know the show is about drama, not realism, but Burke was smart enough to know Christina wasn't as into marriage as he was, so no loss for me except all that expense and loss of eyebrows and all.
No, George, the old crazy guy.. I miss that show.
xx
George a sammie and get a great panini.

Show went downhill after the George Clooney days..sm
It is too much like a soap opera now. I remember the days when it was all about actual medicine and patients and doctors. Now it's just love triangles and boring characters. I think it needs to end as well. I watch just for Archie cuz he cracks me up!
I've had a George-Clooney sound-alike
at most of my jobs, but so far haven't heard him yet at this job.
Too bad ...
Not real original but the first one that comes to mind is George Clooney. nm
!
chocolate. George Lopez or Bill Cosby?

Bewitched. George Clooney or Brad Pitt?
funny read for George Carlin fans..sm
Ya gotta get to your nearest library and ask for this book. I'm laughing my butt off! Just the title alone is sure to offend at least 3 major organized religions and vegetarians.

And while I very much believe in a patients right to privacy, I would hope that this could be settled without suspending medical workers." -- George Clooney
