I don't like to generalize and know that not all men are like that, but IMO she really hit the nail on the head here, and in quite a humorous way, I might add!! I really enjoyed reading her post, but should be on the comedy board . . . LOL!!
BTW, kudos to you and enjoy that man of yours. You really are a lucky one! :)

You're lucky (or he's lucky) the parents care
I have 2 kids just down at the end of the block from me and their parents don't give a rat's behind what they're doing. They're real smart alecks - ages 10 and 12 (?), both in elementary school. Apparently, they're quite the bullies at school, too. They like to mouth to any adults when they whiz by on their bikes. Is it wrong that I'd love to take my kids' BB guns and shoot their tires out when they're doing this?
Their mom doesn't care. When we first moved into town this past fall (short-term thing while we're building in the country), I felt sorry for them. They put on a good act. After a few weeks of them coming to our house and pretending to want to play with the boys, we soon realized they were freeloaders -- wanted to eat everything in my fridge (without even asking first) and then wanted to play our computers or video games (without my kids). I put the klinks on that real fast. After that, they started treating my kids like crap. I told my boys as long as they didn't do anything physical to just ignore them because they didn't care if they got in trouble and neither did their parents. Their mom even had the balls to come looking for them 1 night after they didn't go home. It was 9 o'clock at night and it got dark then around 7. I couldn't believe it.
Just a few weeks ago, the 2 perps beat another kid with a baseball bat at the ballfield. The cops were at their house quite a bit, but I see they're back out on their bikes again wreaking havoc. I can't wait till we move back out to the country!
Count me in!!
But sad to say I will be out of end of the business by the time (if) he makes this film....
DEFINITELY - count me in too....!!
Ok, does it count if
I was given some property FREE and then sold for 150,000? That was all profit or would that be cheating?
Does my granddaughter count? nm

Can't they cut off his leg and count the rings???

don't count on Emeril being there in MS *LOL*
Miami Beach (South Beach) or even the one in Orlando or New Orleans - but I doubt he's at the one in MS at the moment.....
BUT ENJOY!!! He's terrific!!!
just life - because I count everything
and when traveling I see things I would never see - like roadrunners and scissor tailed flycatchers in Texas when I was younger. I have regular nuthatches but this really caught my eye and I had to look him up. I have wrens also - always a vocal presence in my yard year round. Just saw a downy woodpecker - have not seen a pileated for years but my wasbund has them in his yard. Chickadees and titmice my favorites this time of year.
Count my butt in too!
I'm in Iowa and it's hard to find atheists who will come out of the closet here.
I would not count on it having come a long way
rather aged quite a bit, sorta frayed around the edges. I enjoyed some of the music entertainment that was there though would not consider going again. One time was enough for me.
Does first grade count? It meant so much to me - LOL
Doug kissed me in first grade and then ignored me forever after that.
Tilden in 5th grade - he picked me to be his square dancing partner.
Lyle in 6th grade - had all the makings of an abusive husband, but didn't realize it at the time.
Tilden again in 7th grade - didn't last too long.
Had a HUGE nonreciprocated crush on Dan in 9th grade.
Bill in 10th grade - he was a Sr. so got to go to prom.
Dumped him for Chuck not long after prom.
Met Tom at church camp that summer - long distance thing.
Tim when I was a junior, who introduced me to his friend, Jerre, who ended up being my husband till this day.
That was fun!
I talked to a pet psychic once. Does that count? LOL
Seriously, she was supposedly a well known and well respected pet psychic. My dog was elderly and in poor health. I'd adopted her at 10-11 years of age, and now it was 5 yrs later. Her owner was not entirely honest with me about her background, so I was curious about that, and her current state of health.
I saw her flyer at a Pet Expo, so I gave her a call. I took notes about what she said. Some of it was accurate (if obvious/generic), and the rest was... well, I wouldn't say *wildly* off base, but it wasn't accurate and/or I didn't believe it. I don't believe she had any kind of gift, though it was an intersting conversation and she was very professional.
I do think some (very few) people do have abilities in this area that most of us don't have, but I also believe most 'psychics' are full of it and just do it for the money. I've never wanted to see a 'people' psychic, and I wouldn't try a pet psychic again either. JMO.
I'd count him out, and file the winnings.
As they say: you snooze, you lose. Boy, what a bunch of characters there though. LOL
Count your blessings and stop...
the complaining. Like previous posts have stated, at least your daughter calls you. You should be glad to have a daughter who thinks enough of you to call you and cares enough to ask if you are upset. It may annoy you now, but what will you do when she stops or isn't there to call any more?
Yes, you can "take care of you" and let this be "your time," but your kids will always be your kids. You can take care of you and still have time to pick up the phone or return a phone call.
My father used to tell the same stories over and over again. Did I always like hearing the same stories? Of course not. But you know what.....I've give anything to hear one of those stories from my dad's lips again but I can't because he passed away last year. The things that annoy us today may be the very thing that we miss later. We just don't stop and take the time to be thankful for what we do have.
Be thankful that you have money and are content with your life. Be thankful that your daughter still cares enough to call. When you count your blessings and focus on the good things, petty things like this won't get you so upset.
If I were his GF, he could count his remaining days
And note: I'll bet if he'd done it to a DOG, he'd have been convicted. For some reason, society (especially men) seem to put little to no value on the life of a cat.
Well, after hearing that story, I put no value whatsoever on HIS life.
Kids rarely help, don't count on it sm
If you have girls - maybe - but if you have boys the DIL usually hates your guts and it's not her fault, she was "trained" by her own mom and the "his mother" label gets placed. You can try everything, not complaining, helping them financially, buying her special cards and gifts, you'll still be "his mother" and you will get nothing but venom. Be prepared for it, most MIL's with boys are going through this. The son is not even allowed to call unless she's out of the house. So be prepared to take care of yourself for as long as you can, prepare financially, prepare your home, but most of all, prepare your central nervous system for total rejection. Learn to rise above, suit up, shut up and show up. Most of all smile and nod a lot.
None anymore. No wait. Let me count!
I was so busy working that most of my friends gave up and I can't blame them. My closest dearest friend of 30-some years died 2 years ago. We only kept in touch by phone in the past 5 years prior to her death.
I have 2 internet friends, one the wife of my boy friend (not boyfriend) from elementary school and one who shares genealogy family with me. He was the brother I never had.
Oh, and my husband. We've been best friends for 40 some years.
Don't count on getting it back. Sad, but it happens all they time. Look out for the girl sm
wearing that distinctive jacket. And inform you child to bring her stuff home with her. She learns a valuable lesson here.
whoops-I meant 12 years ago.....I CAN count..lol
But nothing is so much nicer than at minimum of an 800 thread count. sm
You can find those at Ross' for around 50 bucks a set for queen! :)
Target has 400-thread count for $39.95 per sheet
Do the Disney Chanel and Nickelodeon count - sm
I have a 3-year-old and yeah some days the TV is what I use to get some work done. It is only scary when I am humming the preschool tunes when I am alone in the car.....
The physician errors too numerous to count
I wish I knew why people don’t listen- could probably make millions if I found out. I went to have CT scan done 1 day - before having it done I said now that is for so and so- nope, that is not what the order read- read for another part of the body. I then asked them to call the doctors office to verify the part to be xrayed. I cannot help these igits that work out here now. I changed my regular physician because of poor doctoring. I NEVER EVER SAID anything about soft stools. Where he got that from who in the he.... knows? I said she was THROWING UP. Thank goodness not huge mistake there as I did not give her the Imodium but 2 times, otherwise she would have the runs from each end.
Do sleep deprivation hallucinations count? - sm
Somewhere on Interstate 8 between Yuma and Tucson, about 3 a.m.
Driving along and all of the sudden I see what I think is a giant jack rabbit/moose walking on the side of the road on a leash held by a big crooked man.
heeheehee Don't know what the jackrabbit/moose thing was but the "man" was a cactus.
At that point it was decided that we had maxed out the benefit of the Java Monster Mochas and took a short snooze at the next rest stop.
Still have good laughs over that one tho.
Increase your line count by chewing gum!
I have tried this off and on for a few months and every time I chew gum all day my line counts go up. For some reason they say spearmint is the best. I find that it increases my focus and keeps me alert and helps me type faster!!
Current studies are looking into three areas of potential benefits, the company says:
• Stress management: What's behind the common practice of chewing gum to relieve tension? Wrigley cites research showing that it stimulates certain areas of the brain, but wants to go further. "Consumers tell us they use it for that, and yet we don't understand how that comes about," Kumar said.
• Weight management: As a 5- to 10-calorie substitute for a high-calorie snack, gum could obviously reduce caloric intake. But does it help suppress appetite? "It's not that chewing gum has any particular magic, but it can be a useful behavior modification pill," said Gilbert Leveille, executive director of the Wrigley Science Institute, which held its inaugural meeting in Chicago in December.
• Cognition and focus: Is gum-chewing a way to increase focus, concentration and alertness? Wrigley points to studies that show that it increases blood flow to the brain but would like to see it linked definitively to higher concentration levels.
God bless ya! I can always count on my computer savy co-workers SM
for answers! Thanks again. I had that terrible question rolling around in my head all day and worrying myself to death.
This will be a lesson well learned in the future.
I just keep checking my line count and adding up my money. Great job.

No, but I hate my lying, stealing, sociopathic brother. Does that count? NM

You are lucky! sm
I think you are so lucky to get these "signs" that your loved ones are still around you. I wish I could have similar experiences. I love Lisa Williams' show. Sylvia Browne can be a bit harsh but she's a real character. I live in Upstate NY and wish I could still get John Edwards' show.
How lucky!
That would be nice!! It would be nice just be able to take time off when you are behind on everything like housework, etc. Oh well, high ho high ho it is back to work I go
Yes, you were very lucky. sm
I tried match.com, put in a 30 mile radius ( small area here). I found I had already met all of these losers, about 10 of them, in one context another in real life, and would never have considered having even a cup of coffee with any of them. Lucky you!
LUCKY YOU!!! sm
Mine only cooks on the weekends about once or twice a year. We wound up having turkey breast but I wanted grilled salmon so I ate that instead. Yum.
Lucky you!!!!!!! nm

Lucky for me...
I'm not a Harry Potter person, but those who reside here are...
My daughter is 20, son is 26, and son's GF is 22. One is asleep after reading all night and the other two are quietly reading... the house is so QUIET!!
So... Lucky for me, they are reading and that I don't feel jealous because I have to work!!
They preordered and got the books last night. Unfortunately, my son accidently ran into a spoiler on the internet w/o even trying... so he's a little bummed.
Well... happy reading when you get off!!!
Wow, lucky you!
Was he a real ladies man and as good looking as he is now?
You will be lucky if
the kids don’t come back and wreck the meeting place where you were. I agree with you about the parenting. It should start really, really early. Hubs and I out last night for dinner and couple next to us with child, about 3 I would say that was all over the place but mostly a danger to himself as he was climbing up on the chair up on the booster seat. There were 4 adults at the table but not one called this child down. I am glad my children grown. Call me overbearing or whatever, my kids were never out of control like what I see now. Oh, I did not spare the rod either.
How lucky you are to be there! Have a

He's been a lucky cat (sm)
Look at all the years of love you have given him...that is so sweet. Most animals never get a forever home where they can stay and live for 15 years. It's sad but it's sweet too. You have given him a good life :-)
Lucky you!
Believe it or not, I sure wish I was there! I have lived in central Florida since 1994 and have not lived in snow since. So sad. I was so glad to throw the old ice scraper and mittens away, but I really miss it. I miss snow days (not horrifying like Hurricane days are here), I miss cozy in the house while the flakes drop outside and how pretty it is. I know you in snowy areas might think I am nuts, but it is still 80s here and the only snap in the air is something for about 10 seconds between 6 and 6:15 a.m. No sledding here, only A/C in the house. Oh yeah, there was snow at my downtown, fake snow made by the town council for a holiday fair. There was roasting chestnuts, hot chocolate and hot cider. Too bad my little boy wore flip flops, he could not go in the snow and it was too hot out to drink the cider. Oh well, at least it looked like Christmas LOL.
Yep, consider yourself one of the lucky ones!
I remember my one brother at that age...wouldn't be caught dead near his mom, especially not in the kitchen! My other two brothers though, they were/are good eggs like your son. You must be doin' something right!
He's definitely one of the lucky ones
I would be very happy if my husband received anything. Granted he gets a monthly bonus depending on profits at the shop (he works at a car dealership - sometime good, sometimes not), but it would be nice if he got an actual Christmas bonus any amount.
I wonder if maybe they have been lucky enough
not to have experienced as much death as some families.
I know when we lost my aunt, she was only 63, but still it was the first death in our family in many years. There wasn't a lot of loud grieving, but most of us were walking around in a state of numb shock.
Very sorry! She was very lucky to have you. nm
!
You are very lucky.
I read the book and saw the movie and loved them both. It's one of my favorite movies.
You are very lucky sm
I live in CT where just this week there has been three home invasions and about six months ago there was the one from Cheshire CT which made national headlines. Two teenage girls and a mom were raped and shot. A total of four people are dead because of this. All the criminals in these cases have past records. No one is safe anymore. I am so glad you are okay.
Wow! Lucky you!
What state do you live in?
Lucky you!
Man that sounds like a great time! I really don't think you will have a hard time. I bet your kids will just enjoy themselves. Be safe!
you are so lucky!
you see, i clean my desk off every couple of weeks, and every time i do, i SWEAR the next day it is a pigsty again!!!
Lucky!
I miss Pittsburgh. Especially Primanti Brothers!
Go Steelers!!
Lucky 13
There are 13 full moons in a year. The lunar/femaleness of this is what turned it into a negative superstition, but to me, Friday the 13th is like finding a dollar on the sidewalk.
