My husband, not a diabetic, had this problem and it turned out to be his wallet! Thinned that bad boy out and got him a money clip and cured him. I definitely would check with the doctor about the numbness, there are meds for this.

For the previous post with uncontrolled diabetes, I have a dog that is diabetic and takes insulin a.m. and p.m. I had a hard time controlling his sugar initially. I cut out the carbs in his diet and put him on chromium picolinate which is a nutritional supplement that works to increase the efficiency of insulin to optimal levels or in other words helps the body metabolize blood sugar. This really got him under control and I can sure tell when I don't give it to him. Might be worth a try.
