Conner Needs Hats

A boy from Indiana could use a boost. Conner was found to have a rare genetic disorder called NEMO, diagnosed at the National Institute of Health. He is currently in Cincinnati Children's Hospital trying to recover from a bone marrow transplant.
Conner's spirits are pretty low right now. Chemo made him lose his hair and steroids have bloated him to the point where he will no longer look at photos of himself or in the mirror. He is one in a set of triplets and has a younger sister. He's pretty homesick right now, his kidneys are not functioning as they should and he's just sick of being sick.
To help boost Conner's spirits and give him something to look forward to, as well as something to do, I am trying to get hats sent to him from every state and beyond if possible. You can go to the link posted for more info on how to do this, and hopefully I have included this link correctly! Conner will have a wall map of the U.S. and will be able to mark where the hats come from.

For those of you who took the time to send hats to Conner, the boy who had the bone marrow transplant, THANK YOU!!
Conner's mom has requested no more hats be sent as he now has enough to never have to buy a hat again!
Please continue to support Conner by signing his guest book. It means a lot to him and to his family knowing there are so many who care.
You guys are all great for coming through and taking the time to learn about Conner.

I've been hesitant to post updates on here about Conner because there's never much of response to my posts, which makes me feel a bit awkward. I don't want to seem like I am pestering.
Conner went HOME the week of Thanksgiving! I'm sure that was their best Thanksgiving ever despite Conner still being in isolation somewhat. The Journal & Courier newspaper out of Lafayette as well as the TV news covered Conner's homecoming. His neighborhood was lined with friends and family welcoming him back as his mom drove him back home to Indiana from Cincinnati Children's Hospital where he had been a patient for over 100 days.

is updated periodically. There is a list on there of only the hats I know have been sent, but I think Conner has received more as his mom made mention of it a couple of days ago on their site.
His mom is always asking for people to sign their guest book as their whole family enjoys reading the entries.

As long as it has something to do with PA, that would be great! If the beanie is plain, maybe a pin having to do with PA to put on the hat?

I think it sounds as if you're doing a WONDERFUL job of balancing career and education, and I greatly admire your ability to do this, especially at the age of 22. I know more than few people your age who are content to continue to live with their parents and play video games all day, with little or no thought to getting a job or furthering their education, so your post is indeed like a breath of fresh air!!!
Hang in their and keep moving towards your goals. If you keep your focus as you apparently are doing now, I've no doubt you'll find great success, not only in your education and career, but in life in general.

Hats and a Smile: Photo inside
A couple of weeks ago, I posted about Conner, a 13-year-old boy from Indiana who had a BMT for a very rare disease called NEMO. Only a handful of NEMO boys have had BMTs with "mixed results" according to Conner's mom. Conner's transplant was in August and he's had a rough time with a few highs and lots of lows. I thought it would be neat if Conner could get a hat from every state to maybe boost his morale as well as cover his bald head since it's getting cold! So far four hats have been sent and a few more are pending. I was hoping you all could help out by either sending a hat, or even just passing the links along as the more this gets around, the more hats Conner will receive.
At least check out his web site that his mom and dad maintain updating his progress, posting slide shows, etc. Conner is one in a set of triplets and also has a 10-year-old sister. The photos tug at your heart and the music rips out what's left of it. It would be great if you signed the guest book. His mom says they read it together every day and it means a lot to the both of them. This family, and especially Conner, needs all the encouragement and support they can get.

Surgeon said he had large exuberant hemorrhoids! Are they wearing party hats?
Bridal shower atire would probably be fine. Find out if hats are "de riguer" for the occasion.
