Got this from Paula Deen's cookbook--
it is great but only thing I do not like is that it does not reheat well

4 c macaroni
2 c grated cheddar cheese
3 egs, beaten
1/2 c sour cream
4 T butter
1/2 t salt
1 c milk

cook and drain macaroni. combine remaining ingredients, add to macaroni. bake 30-45 minutes. top with more cheese.
You should see her cookbook! Everything sounds yummy, but you would put
a
betty crocker cookbook
Pretty basic and explains all the cooking terms. Just halve recipes or freeze extra. You sound like my daughter. She has mastered scrambled eggs and grilled cheese in the Forman grill and that is it!
I am santa claus
My parents ALWAYS (even when they knew we didn't believe anymore) were "santa" They would wait until we were asleep to put out the presents. It was SO fun. I remember being little and trying to stay up to see "him". We even once SWORE we saw reindeer hoof prints on our roof. My husband grew up TOTALLY different. His mom still to this day won't even buy wrapping paper with santa on it. So you know what I do? I buy him extra presents and put them under the tree when HE is asleep.

I think it is all just fun. I am not mad at my parents for tricking me. I had a great time with it. And I hope my kids do too.
I think as Christians we can use Santa Claus

As a witness if we want to.  I feel that Santa is a fun part of Christmas but of course we should not forget the REAL reason for the season.  We can give to others to show the love of Christ, Him giving His life for us.  It is all about how you look at it and show it to others.  God Bless you all and have a Blessed Christmas :)

P.S.  A very good way to witness is through WorldVision.  They have a wonderful gift catalog that I used for Christmas presents.  You can purchase a wheelchair for a child in another country, childcare for orphans, etc.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus....sm

Santa Claus as we know him today has changed through the times, but his good will toward children has not changed.

This is a great link to tell you of that history!

If you tell your kids that Santa Claus is real

I don't have children but I have a friend who has children and she told my sister never to lie to her children (my niece & nephew are 5 mos. old) "it's the worse thing you can do" "if they find out you lied there will be consequences" and other remarks like that.

We were talking the other day and without even thinking we were talking about how Uncle Joey usually dresses as Santa but this year we might want to ask his son to take over and our friends child heard our discussion.

Well, she got so mad because we were insensitive to her daughter and "we don't discuss such things in front of the children"

Come to find out that her kids all think Santa is real. The oldest is 17, well, I'm sure he probably figured it out by now BUT she does not know that

So I wondered if she is lying to her children by telling them santa claus is real?

pay-per-click

Have you investigated pay-per-click? I  did quite well with that system.

I ran a suceessful web site and gave it up to take care of my terminally ill mother. At one point I was selling $1,000 daily. Please remember that was  $1,000 in sales, not profitt; nevertheless a substantial amount.

I posted once on this board for a QA issue (the day after  my mother went to heaven) and was chopped to pieces. I was sad when she went to heaven but nearly suicidal after reading  others' responses.

e-mail me and and I will try to help!

od'd on cookies
My uncle makes Kiflis, Hungarian powdered sugar nut cookies, and I ate about 2 dozen within the past week...I only get them once a year, though. Told MD we can't check the cholesterol until Feb. now!!!
cookies
I would make sugar cookies with Christmas cut outs and the kids would put frosting and spinkles on them. They really loved it.

OR if that won't work, right click the pic, save as and save it to your systems as a GIF or JPG. Then you should be able to click and drag it over.

Don't even have to click the link...
I saw it had FTC in it.  He goes head to head against the FTC and the FDA.  Do you think they are going to have anything "nice" to say?
Apparently, it is a famous painting.
Hel*s Kitchen
Chef Ramsey is a hoot!! I have to agree with you..I doubt I would ever eat anything they made either.

The other night they made them put all the wasted food into plastic containers so they could see what they did. It was sooo gross. LOL.

What I have always wondered...Are the people that you see eating there paid to do that? and do they hear all the commotion in the kitchen?? Especially Ramsey's language.

No matter what...I think the show is great entertainment.
kitchen
I am in the corner of my kitchen - it works out okay as long as everybody is out of the house.
Now he wants to do N-shaped cookies nm

Sugar Cookies

Is anyone out there a good baker?  Looking for a good recipe for the B I G sugar cookies, not those small ones you can buy, slice and bake at the store.   I think some also call them sour cream cookies . . . not sure.  They are about 3 inches round and maybe 1/2 inch high.  You can top them with icing or sprinkles or colored sugars.  Thanks in advance.

Sugar cookies
Thank you! I will try this very soon. Sounds Yummy!!!!

we are redoing our kitchen
We are doing this the cheap way and painting the cabinets. They are in good shape just need perked up.

I HAVE TO TELL YOU...I beleve ol' Nick has seen better days! OH MY GOSH. THAT PIC IS A HOOT!!!!!
kitchen cabinets

Has anyone ever re-did old veneer kitchen cabinets?  If so, what did you use to "spruce" them up?  My cabinets themselves are in decent shape, but some of the veneer is starting to peel off.  My husband and I are putting our house up for sale and I want something inexpensive that looks good.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone watching He*l's kitchen
Anyone watching the new season of Hel*'s kitchen with Chef Gordon Ramsey.  I missed last week but caught it last night.  DH and I love that show.  Ramsey tells em like it is.  I hope some of them get better because I would not ever eat anything any one of those contestants ever made.  They are supposed to have some experience but they waste so much food.  Just wondered if I'm the only sicko out here who laughs when those people get yelled at.
Kitchen Nightmares
That show made me almost not want to go out and eat anymore. Some of those places, yuck. That was another one of my favorite shows. I wonder if that'll come back.
Hardwood in the kitchen......
Friends of our had hardwood in their kitchen. While out of town, there was a leakage from their fridge and it ruined the floor. Even if they had been there, the water got in the grooves of the wood and the only way to make it look right would be to replace all the wood. They now have ceramic tile which holds up to everything.
What type of kitchen mop do you use?
I am really frustrated with my kitchen mop right now. I have a cermanic tile floor that has to be mopped at least once or twice a week (when I feel like it). I can't find a mop that I like and gets the floor clean. Just curious what type of floor you have and what kind of mop do you use?
We have ceramic in the kitchen
and I use a Swiffer. I also use it on my wood floors in the family room and the dining room.
Christmas cookies, etal.....

wrapping cookies cheap.
Are they being mailed?? If so, wrap them in plastic wrap and then foil and put them in Pringle's Potato Chip tins. This works great for care packages going to Iraq.
Doesn't that just frost your cookies?
Frosted mine, anyway.

Every feasible thing except a volcano raining lava down on my house has happened this month to suck every spare penny out of me, and I'm not counting CHRISTMAS (THERE! I said the evil word!) expenses. I just get in from snow shoveling for the gazillionth time and finally got a chance to open the mail. After the electric bill darn near killed me, I open a bill from the prodigal son's university. Son goes to state univ., but not in our state. Here's the cost for 2007/2008:

Out-of-State Tuition: $21,770/year
Mandatory Fees: $2,260/year
Room and Board: $6,204/year
TOTAL: $30,234/year

Books, meal plans, health insurance, etc. not included. He gets lots of financial aid, though.

The bill for spring semester was due a couple of weeks ago and has been paid. I just received another bill, as I do every semester right after tuition is paid, for the following:

Course Fee #1: $15.00
Course Fee #2: $10.00
Photocopying Fee: $15.00

Course fee? Wouldn't you think that $21,700 for tuition ought to cover that? Photocopying fee?? I can buy a whole package of paper at Staples for $7.00. How much paper/ink/electricity does it take to make a photocopy? $15 worth? Over 14,000 students are enrolled there. That's $210,000 charged for photocopying fees/semester, $420,000/year.

How does one get into the photocopying business?

Girl Scout cookies are here!

I love Girl Scout cookies!

They are $4 a box this year.  I always tell the little girls they were 50 cents a box when I sold them and they look at me like, okay, old lady, just buy the cookies.

Girl Scout Cookies
My daughter is a Girl Scout so we bought quite a few boxes. I love the thin mint and could probably eat a whole box myself in one day. They're $3.50 here, but every year I swear the cookies get smaller and smaller.

Don't freak out on me MammaMT but I did a sneaky and just "right clicked" on the red X there, which told me the link to Chip's picture off photobucket, copied that picture to my machine, cropped it and resized it, and put it on my website temporarily to display it here.  Whew!  Hope that made sense!
