When I had my gallbladder out, it took a good 6 weeks before I felt okay, wasn't nauseous and my back stopped hurting.

Had laparoscopic cholecystectomy 1 year ago...
I'm in my late 50s. It was a very simple same day surgery on a Friday. I was home by 2:30 p.m., had some mild discomfort, bloating for 2 days, but was right as rain by Monday, save for the typical tenderness you would expect after surgery (that lasted about 7 days). Post surgery I took only one pain pill and I'm not sure I even needed it. I recall that my first full-blown gallbladder attack was brought on by (I'm embarrassed to say) a bag of Cheetos. Afterwards, surgeon told me that the gallbladder was very diseased and it was a good thing I had it out and NOW I could go back to eating anything I wanted. Say what? That may be so, but I haven't been able to look at a bag of Cheetos, or their many cousins displayed in the snack food aisle, since then. Not such a bad thing! Before the surgery, I went online to hear what other people had to say about their cholecystectomies and the outcomes. Everyone was bemoaning the fact that they gained weight afterwards. Don't believe it! Anyway, just wanted to tell everyone that it's a simple procedure. Don't be afraid.
they told me it was post-cholecystectomy syndrome
and that it was pretty common and would gradually and eventually stop. I was just thinking today that wow, I haven't been sick to my stomach or puked at work in at least a month now, and the diarrhea has been better too. So maybe that is all it was. Keeping my fingers crossed!
