I make a mean Chex mix
When I had an on-site job, I used to bring it in for parties and it was a big hit and I once had a friend and that's all she wanted for X-mas was a batch of homemade Chex mix.
I use the original recipe as opposed to the newer, albeit healthier, one that's on the back of the box these days. In other words, tons of real butter and seasoned salt! I also like to use a mix of peatnuts and cashews and substitute either Cheez-Its or Goldfish crackers for the pretzels since real junk food afficianados don't like pretzels anyway.
I wish I could figure out a way to make a living at junk food because I think I'm pretty good at creating it.
Original Chex Mix
Just made a batch this afternoon for my son. I hope he eats it up quickly because I can hardly leave it alone.
I never tried the Chex Mix Turtle, but that sounds even better. I better stay away from that one!
turtle is also very good - nn

I am constantly making my own Chex mix.
Give me that and a glass of milk and I am happy.
We have 4 cats and 1 turtle...all named by my son...sm
The white cat is named Spotty because when he was little he had a black smudge between his ears. Now he is all white. Our black cat is named Ping Ball because he sleeps all day and pings off the walls all night. My oldest cat is named Mittens because she has extra toes front and back and her front paws are shaped like little mittens. Our big fluffy Maine coon cat is named Sashee. We named her Sassy at first. DH used to call her Sasha. Then we went to get her fixed and found out that SHE was a HE. So Sashee is a combination of both.
Our turtle is named Skurtle. Yes, close to Yertel, but the son was insistent. LOL.
My dad had a German shepard when he was growing up named Soxapuss. Not a clue as to that one. LOL.
Sometimes if you just wait to see the pet, a name will just pop into your head. But in our case, it helped to have a little kid.
Cement turtle with seashell-adorned shell on my
doorstep. Rabbit-ears on my TV set have a colored pinwheel attached to the end of one ear, so I don't bonk my eye on it if it's turned in the direction needed to get channel 5! ;D
Lots of my stuff is purple, (even though my rug is brown.) Three cat-beds & two litter boxes (for ONE cat!) Computer desk takes up almost 1/2 of the living room! :(
The rest of the apt. looks like sporting-goods store exploded in the middle of it.
Generic corn-chex cereal, milk, & a cup of coffee. (nm)

We have a turtle. She is a red-eared slider named...are you ready?? Skurtle. sm
Our son named her. She is about 5 years old now. She started out the size of a silver dollar and has progressively increased in tank size. She started in a 5 gallon tank and is now in a 125 gallon breeder's tank. If I had known then what I know now.....LOL. She has a night and day light, she has her basking light, and she has a UV A&B light since turtles to not manufacture calcium themselves. She will eat those little feeder goldfish out of our hands and will eat her normal turtle stick food from our hands too. We have a TON of her plates or whatever it is they call the things on the shell from when she was just little to now from when she sheds them. It is really interesting to watch her just live the life of a turtle. Eat, sleep, poop, and swim.
