About the same. I buy 89 octane at $3.21/gallon.
Have an 18-gallon tank to fill on my car. LOL
3.14-3.16 a gallon yesterday x

Milk around here is $2.50 a gallon
and it takes 1 gallon to make a nice chunk of mozzarella. It takes 3 gallons to make the harder cheeses like cheddar and Monterey Jack. I want a good "biting" sharp cheese.
I'm sure if I look around here, I could find cheaper milk. I just haven't tried yet. Years ago, I could buy raw milk from a local farmer, but I don't think there are any dairy farmers around here anymore. I know of 1 in another county but he's 20 miles away "over the mountain". It's too dangerous to go there in the winter.
Yes. Gas prices have shot up $.60 per gallon
in less than two weeks here. I drove the kids home from school one day, made a mental note to get gas, and the price had gone up $.25 by the time I got back to the gas station. Ridiculous!
I just paid $4.50 for a gallon of generic brand in Wyoming, nm

$4.75 a gallon of milk at Costco here, cheapest place around nm

Santa Cruz, CA. Fifty bucks got me 3/4 tank in my 4 Runner @ 3.93/gallon. Plus... sm
There is a $50 limit at the gas pumps for credit cards... so could not fill it all the way up! That's kinda lame... (I get cash rebate so using that for gas always). My 4Runner is not too bad on a gas for a truck... not like a Honda though. But at least my dog can hang is head out the rear window!

About 20 minutes from Columbus. We can't get the back door open, but we have a covered front porch so at least we can get out!
Central California . . .
a cool 85 for the high predicted tomorrow - yipee - we haven't seen the 80s in many moons. Still in the 90s here. We all better enjoy it. The Farmer's Almanac is predicting record breaking heat next summer. Hope they're wrong.
Cardinal Central
It snowed here in Missouri the other day and I tried to get a picture of all of the cardinals at my feeders. I couldn't fit them all in, hope you can see picture. I love cardinals!

Site for selling Giftcards?
Does anyone know of a popular site shopping enthusiasts go to purchase giftcards?
I think he did it wrong; even if you are selling a house - sm
or property yourself; any downpayment money is to be put in escrow for the closing. If his buyer had backed out due to a problem with the house (like an undisclosed problem; or a found problem) then he would have had to come back up with their deposit money and refunded them; and if he had already spent it he would have been in a difficult position to come up with the funds. Escrow protects not only the buyer but the seller as well. As for the 10% I have never heard of such a high commission; we did 7 when we sold our house (the standard is 6%) only because my DH knew the realtor (old school friend) and to give him some incentive to sell our house quickly; unfortunately that did not work as it took us 9 months to sell our house (at a loss) which doubled in value about 6 months after we sold it, talk about the unpredictable real estate market.
Selling house, how much taxes will I owe?
Never lived at this property, got in my name about 6 years ago, never had it appraised, the person living there before also did not. My question is how much will I owe on taxes, say on a percentage basis, according to what it sells for? How do I go about figuring this out? Thanks.
I remember selling them for 35 cents.
Then the year they went up to 50 cents I had to explain to all my neighbors why the price went up.
One year my mom was in charge of ordering and receiving all the cookies for our troop. Our living room was floor to ceiling brown boxes of cookies. What a lot of work to divide all those into each girl's order. My mom said "never again". Ah, memories!
Here it is for those who are interested
You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days.
Ay, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness, and let the winds of the heavens dance between you.
Love one another, but make not a bond of love: let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other’s cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, even as the strings of the lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.
Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping.
For only the land of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together, yet not too near together, for the pillars of the temple stand apart, and the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow.
I am very interested
in this. Where do I purchase the DVD? Thank you so much for this information. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Did you lose all your teeth that you have to soak your bread in milk to make it mushy?
I do not think that your sex-life story belongs here, not even on the Gab board.
Tell us more about your sex life, then we will call it 'Porn Board'.
You are crazy!
I'm interested too. Is there anything less/about

Hey, all of our central FL MTs out there! Prayers for you and hoping sm
ya'll are doing fine! I just heard that some twisters produced winds of more than 300 mph. Unbelievable. Even stronger winds than a cat 5 hurricane.
Lots of people out there need our prayers and supupport. Let us remember them today at all of their devastating loss. May God give them rest and peace today........
Central PA ~ It's been snowing since early a.m.
Could get up to a foot at least from what I heard. So don't like hearing that!
Central Maine, near Bangor.
We are entering the BEST time of year here. Bugs are going bye-bye and the colors are starting to show. We've already had a few frosts, so the tender annuals totally got wasted. I got some firewood stacked, still need lots more, and the tractor and snowblower are lubed up and ready to go to work! My favorite wintertime activity is plowing the snow with the ATV because I'm totally queeah like that!
Your temps there in Utah would be the death of me! I'm "genetically engineered" to be comfortable in the lower temps northern New England has to offer, know what I'm sayin? ;-)

It probably was from a Band Booster fundraiser. Remember the band contests at the State Fair?
It would actually be more appropriate to say it was in East Central Indiana - Muncie-Anderson area.

It is nice to see another flatlander. :)
that's true but back then we had no prez selling us....
People there are already being tricked into selling their organs (sm)
Did you see that special recently? They are promised a lot of money - which they really need - especially single women there - and they end up getting measly amounts for selling a kidney...it's very sad that people are that desperate for money. We are very fortunate here and need to remember that.
Selling things other than MT equipment, books etc
Does anyone ever post things to sell/trade other than MT items on this site (in the classified)? I am a wah MT and I am looking at reaching out to some wah MT's who scrapbook as a hobby and would be interested in joining a hostess club I am setting up. I already have some people signed up and just looking for a few more. I am on the MB for the cricut website, but trying to reach out to other MT's who like this as well.
Thanks for your help.
A true surrogate is not selling a baby - sm
the woman would be carrying someone else's biological child, most likely because they are not able to physically carry a child for whatever reason. In that case I would have no problem with it. Obviously women who also supply the egg as well as the womb, that is a totally different scenario. I had a friend that considered it, and I believe had I known about selling of eggs I would have done that before I was too old....by the time I heard of that I was 32 and too old and married at that point. But I think I would have seriously considered it in my 20s had I known about it, my life would have turned out a lot differently then I believe--but then I would not have the two great kids I have now which I would not have missed for anything. Everything happens for a reason.
Mega-mother selling her story
Well, today we find out the mega mother of all mothers wants to sell her story for 2 million. Talk shows, baby expert and all offers are being looked at to "tell her story" according to her spokesperson. I am hearing from this person she is very balanced, very happy about all 14. If she tells her story, maybe that will open up new pathways for others to strive for more than 8 at a time. Just think about the possibilities!

Why she might be interested in younger men . . .
It sounds like your mother was devastated when your father died. Wow! Nearly 50 years together! If they had a happy marriage, she probably misses that closeness and wants to experience that again. And, maybe she's looking for younger men, because someone much younger is not likely to die before her. That means, she wouldn't have to experience the pain of being widowed again.
My uncle died just recently. He had been married to his second wife for just two years. His first wife died of cancer five years ago. And his second wife was widowed seven years earlier. When I spoke to his wife after the funeral, she talked about how horrible it was to be widowed twice, and that she didn't want to go through that ever again. But, she also talked about how lucky she was to have experienced two wonderful marriages.
Maybe your mother is looking for the same.... she wants another wonderful love in her life, but she's afraid of being a widow again. That would be reasonable, I think. However, she definitely sounds gullible, and she's looking for love in the wrong place! Has she had any grief counseling? Maybe you can talk to her about what it is she's really looking for. People do things because they are trying to fulfill needs. They repeat behaviors because there's some sort of payoff for what they're doing. She's getting something like a "sugar rush" when she meets these men online. Briefly, her fantasy is fulfilled. But, when the truth is revealed, she's devastated again. I know I'm sounding like a Psych 101 graduate, but that's really what it sounds like to me. She keeps doing this, because she likes that sugar rush. There has to be a way to break that, and to really find a way for her to be comfortable with herself.
I'm so sorry for her pain. She must be so sad after having lost her husband.
For anyone interested in adopting a pet
Here is a link where you can search on breed of animal and state. It's where we found Jake. Many excellent animals there, some of them just given up because owners didn't have the time for them, etc. My DH is worried we're going to end up with a house full of animals, but I wouldn't do that, limited time and great just with the one right now, although you never know... I've always been a supporter of animal rescue and participated volunteering for a puppy mill raid one time years ago, of course ended up bringing a dog home, but my other one needed a friend .
34 right now, central Oregon coast range....
20 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean. May get up to 47 today, woo hoo!
was thinking of moving to central FLA from Miami
still praying for all those folks who got hit in the 40-mile range that this tornado went through......
Port Authority and probably Grand Central (sm)
have lockers, but have never used one, so I don't really know about availability and size.
Since you're selling the house, I would not go with claw foot
I think the claw foot style appeals only to a certain market, and you want to appeal to as wide a group of potential house buyers as possible. If the claw foot tub is really what you want to live with, then save that style for the house you build for yourselves.
I grew up in an old home with two claw foot tubs. They were huge and comfy, but you have to clean behind them, under then and all around them. Since I was the youngest and smallest, that was my assigned job. Ugh.
We've lived in our current home for 23 years and expect to live here until we die. The house was built in 1915, and we have an enormous tub that was installed in 1922. I love it because it's sleek and built into an alcove. At one point my husband was really bent on ripping it out and putting a claw foot tub in there, saying it would look more authentic. Well, this baby IS authentic. It reminds me of a moving train. It's porcelain over cast iron, and it's not going anywhere. We've had it refinished, and it's beautiful and so lovely to soak in.
My point is, you can look for something along the lines of art deco/noveau which has the classic, stylized, and even sort of old-fashioned look, but still appeals to modern taste as well. (And no cleaning underneath!)
I'm sure a lot of people at the hospital are selling these types of stories
to the tabloid shows and the tabloids. Unfortunately, stories like this sell. Yes, whoever the source is should be fired.
Talk about dating yourself? I remember selling them for 0.75 cents! (nm)

Not originally from the south, so imagine my surprise when I saw them selling - sm
Cracklin at a roadside stand! It was cooking in a huge pot of grease. I thought I might faint from the smell - beyond description. Then I noticed it being sold packaged in grocery stores with all kinds of flavorings added. I cannot recall seeing cracklin sold in the other parts of the country I have lived, but maybe I just never noticed. All I know is I cannot even stand to look at the bags while waiting to check out at the register. YUCK!!
Update on hysterectomy for anyone who is interested. sm
Hi everyone. Well I had the hysterectomy this Tuesday done laparoscopically assisted and robotix assisted, so less trauma to the surrounding tissue. Have 5 very small cuts on my abdomen and uterus, tubes and right ovary (the only one remaining) were removed. It all went well. Stayed overnight at the hospital and came home Wednesday morning. Feeling really well. Was sore for the first couple of days and only had to take Motrin. Feeling really good today with hardly any soreness. I have to take it easy for a few weeks without any exertion, but otherwise feeling well and am so relieved it is over. So far no symptoms of hot flashes or anything, but I'm still waiting for that to happen, so we will see. I am happy to say I am please with the outcome so far and now I feel I can move on without worrying about that issue any more. Thanks to everyone who gave me advice and words of wisdom.
Here is his info in case anyone is interested
Truly I do not have that good a heart. This Christmas will be hard for my family. My mother, his grandmother who helped to raise him, died October 31 from lung cancer and we are all still reeling. I want to help him but, from a selfish point of view, I'm hoping that maybe getting involved in doing something for him and his buds will help me with the loss of my mom.
Blake is 20. He is married. He is a "good ole Georgia country boy" type guy, by his own admission. Loves trucks and Nascar, football, fishing, magazines related to those sorts of things. I know that phone cards are always welcome (they're only allowed to use AT&T ones for soem reason). He loves sweets but not particularly just chocolate. He likes taking pics when he is not otherwise occupied and he uses myspace to post his pics and keep us up to date with what's going on with him. It's funny (funny weird not funny haha) that he has fairly easy access to the Internet and very limited access to phones.
He is a really down-to-earth kid with a great sense of humor. He amazes me. He lost a guy in his unit, a guy he had been with since basic at Ft. Stewart, and has had a close call or 2 himself, but he takes it all in stride and stays grateful for what he has. He had been home on leave right before my mom died so he got some time with her, thank God.
The idea for the single drink mixes was awesome - I would have never thought of that.
If you would like to send Blake or his unit something, please email me for the mailing address.
Sounds like you are not yest interested
in another relationship. My kids were 3 and 8 when I was divorced, I felt funny about bringing any man around for a while, if I dated I only saw them the weeks I did not have the kids (my ex and I have joint with having them every other week). I have been divorced 12+ years and they only met 2 guys I went out with, the first I dated for 2 years, and the present BF I have been for 8 years.
If and when you are ready then you will get out there. But in the meantime, go out with friends, don't just sit at home. If you are in a church, go to all their social events, volunteer time at the local hospital or libraty, whatever. You never know when you must might meet someone to change your mind. One thing for sure, if you are staying home all the time you will never get a chance to meet anyone, they don't come knocking on the door.
Male or female so I will know if I am interested. NM

Pork roast...details below if anyone is interested
I do mine with tomatoes, basil and a clove of frash garlic and just a tad of oliver oil. I wrap that in foil and put it on the grill. I make this with red potatoes (slice partway open and put some butter inside, wrap in foil and grill also). I usually steam some green beans to go along with it, but this is a throw it on and forget about is for 45 minutes. Not great for those thighs but tastes heavenly!
