Daughter's 11th birthday party
My daughter's b-day is in September and I'd appreciate any suggestions for a party. She's at the age where I don't want it to be too babyish, yet don't want it too mature. Want to have it at our home too. We have a pool but don't want to plan anything around that in case the weather is not cooperating. Thanks!
Daughter wants to attend birthday party
My daughter is 10 and her friend will be 11. Her friend has been to our house numerous times and she is a SWEET girl. HOWEVER, her parents and their home is incredibly dirty. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a neat freak myself but their home is filfthy, as are they. Took their daughter home one day and they came outside, along with one of their younger sons who was in his underwear that looked soiled/brown/gray. Her mother seems nice enough but I get the feeling there is some sort of mental illness going on. Every time I've been around her I can tell she has major hygiene issues, built up plaque on her teeth and dirt under her nails, dirty clothes, etc. I'm not trying to be judgmental; I just don't want to allow my daughter to go to their house. Her friend is more than welcome here. I'm concerned this is going to possibly cause friction with the girls. I've talked with the mother of another friend in the group and she understands where I'm coming from, as she feels the same way. Wondering if any of you may have any suggestions for me. I know the girls are getting older and I'm sure my daughter's friend is realizing that her friends aren't allowed to her house, yet she can visit them. I really feel for her and I wonder how many girls will actually show for her party, yet I don't want to run the risk of my daughter coming home with lice or something.
Any ideas on a gift for my daughter's 16th birthday?? I have been asking her for weeks and she -s
really hasn't given me any ideas. She does not want a class ring now (she is a sophomore this year). She does not like her birthstone but does like pearls and emeralds but has not really given me a straight answer as to whether she would prefer a ring, earrings or a necklace. She plays a lot of sports so I am not sure she will be able to keep track of nice jewelry either and I really don't want to spend good $$ if she might lose it. I only have a week left and wanted to get her something special because it is her 16th but just can't come up with anything nor can I get her to give me a good idea. Thanks.
They are, thank you. He will be celebrating 1 year of
sobriety on September 4 and, believe me, that is something to celebrate. While he was not physically abusive, he was still a drunk and they can be hard to live with. He went to work, came home, stayed at home. Didn't drink and drive. Didn't go out and party, but he was still a drunk. His life basically revolved around alcohol but, thank God, not anymore.
I'll be celebrating!
I start my new job on 01/02/08 and I have holidays off!
It's a non-medical job with holidays off. I'm starting a new chapter in my life, so YES, I will be celebrating the end of a rough, depressing period of my life.
We were not celebrating her death,
once again, I said we were celebrating the wonderful life she had and the many contributions she made to her family and society as a whole.
It's not "gross" at all! I think celebrating the
is pretty special, if you ask me.
Happy Chanukah to those celebrating....*S*
Celebrating the birth of my first grandchild, sm
born Friday afternoon at 12:37 p.m. They are coming home today, I am heading to their house to help out, my daughter tore a lot during delivery, is sore, so I want to do whatever I can, and enjoy the baby, BTW, a girl, 7 pounds, 15 ounces. Yikes, it's official, I really am getting old.
Celebrating Christmas Poll
Do you celebrate Christmas because...
=> Its a Christian holiday about the birth of Jesus.
=> The commercial aspects with Santa and presents.
=> You enjoy tree, decorations, lights, music, food and all such things
=> Other reasons, please explain ???
We're celebrating an anniversary.
Our 24th wedding anniversary was on January 26. But, we were both sick with a bug that weekend, so let it go by. Now that we're healthy, we're going to go out for dinner and a movie. Pretty low-key, though. We both want to see the movie about Nixon and the Frost interviews. LOL. Not very romantic, but that's what we like. Then, we'll probably stop by the neighborhood pub for some food and a drink or two. We always run into friends or family there, so we'll have fun.
They don't...just celebrating an anniversary date will show...
the math.
Oh, I would have dropped everything! Celebrating 15 years of marriage in June!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. Hope it is a good one. nm
nm
Happy Birthday to you, then you can wish me a happy birthday on Friday! sm
Aquarians Rule!!!!! LOL
Daughter's phone is daughter's responsibility. Valuable lesson learned.
It should be between the daughter and the friend if the friend is going to pay any of the fees. They are teenagers, not preschoolers.
Birthday
Happy Birthday to your husband. Hope he has a good one.
LOL and it's my birthday, too!

Birthday
I turned 50 two years ago and that was definitely the worst. 40 I could handle - I still felt relatively young. Also in the years between 40 and 50 I had several surgeries and my brother, father, mother and an aunt died (actually all the deaths happened in the last 3 years). Boy, it is really traumatic when you start losing your family members. I know this happens to people at a younger age than I was and I feel for them. (I also had a brother who died when I was 10 and he was 13).
So ugh, 50 is worse. And you know the old saying "would you rather have your birthday or the alternative". Gag. That doesn't help much.
I hope you have a very happy birthday!
Birthday
it hits you hard at first, but just roll with the punches. I'd suggest some good supplements (check on the net) and vitamin C is supposed to help prevent or delay cataracts. Almost everyone has them sooner or later. Anyway, have a very Happy Birthday. (I am 69 so you have a long way to go - ha).
Yes, happy birthday.

I am 39 too. I think I am done with birthday's, but will not refuse roses! I hear 50 is the new 30 so does that make 40 the new 20? If so maybe I will have just one more. LOL Anyway Happy Birthday! Have a wonderful day!

Two weeks overdue??? Your poor mom!
Today is my birthday, so..!
the family and I are having a birthday picnic. Nice weather here in Michigan too. You're invited!
Hey now--Happy Birthday!
I'd definitely give it a shot. If you're like me, you've probably already spent a small fortune on every other concoction out there on the shelves...what's one more, right?
You want a real treat? You HAVE to try Bare Minerals. I always wear a little makeup whenever I go out, just to give my self-esteem a much needed boost. Liquids, even the kind that say they are 24-hours, just seem to slide off my skin or make my skin peel. This stuff is fantastic and really covers incredibly well, even though it is a powder. Even my ultra-sensitive skin doesn't have a problem with it. I tried a sampler from QVC a few years ago, fell in love with it, and now I also get that as I need it from deals on Ebay.
Again, HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY!
Happy Birthday to Bob!!!
Today is my sister's B-day too . . . my sweet Angie Pangie! (aka Piggie Pie) LOL!!!

Happy Birthday!
My roughest birthday was....
When I was 34. I don't know why but it really hit me hard. B-days have never affected me, but for some reason I felt my life passing me by. Now I laugh at that. I was in Germany at that time (Army wife). Can't remember what I did, probably went out to eat. For the most part b-days don't affect me too much because I can't remember the last time my husband ever did anything "special" for my b-day. Oh yea, the last time he took me out to eat specially for my b-day was 1989, but dinner was a disaster so after that I just said forget it. Usually we have pizza delivered. So I'm now 48 and I'd give anything to turn the clocks back about 28 years. So much I would do differently and so many things I wouldn't do.
What was your "roughest" birthday s/m
and how did you celebrate it? I turn 40 in a few weeks and thought I was doing well until this evening when I really started thinking about it and contemplating my life. I sure would like to roll back about 10 years and have a do-over, then maybe I would take this a little better?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
I will be 47 on Thursday :)
Child Birthday
My child will be turning 8 in a month and a half and we are planning his party. It will be at the house this year and we are renting one of those bouncy castles. He is inviting girls and boys but will plan on the boys spending the night and camping out in the backyard in a big tent. Would it be appropriate to put an insert into the invitations letting the girls' parents know when to pick them up that evening and that only boys will be spending the night? TIA
Birthday parties
My oldest daughter stopped having elaborate parties when she was 12. When she was 13 I took her and one friend to NYC to see a play, when she turned 14 I took her to a concert just the two of us, and this past year when she turned 15, we just had family and really good friends (4) and then I dropped them off at the movies. It just got too be too expensive. My youngest daughter has been having parties for her friends for the past few years (she's 5), but her birthday is in the summer, so we just have a pool party for her. On the other spectrum, I have a friend who lives across the street, and her two children have never had a birthday party (13 and 8) with anybody but their immediate family.
Happy Birthday
I have all that junk too, but I am younger. :)
Go do something fun today!
Happy birthday!
It was my 49th birthday too this week. I have a few aches and pains but nothing serious (maybe because I don't go to the doctor). I do have this sense of urgency as if time were running out. Still so many things on my list to do and see yet I have to sit here day after day in front of this computer. Very thankful for my job though.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY~
I would kinda be disappointed that no one remembered.. I wouldn't stress over it, but even though I wouldn't want a big deal made of it either, its nice to know someone remembers things like birthdays.. hope you enjoyed DQ
Happy birthday!!!...sm
Not exactly the same from total strangers, but saying it anyway because it sucks that even your parents forgot. It's not a milestone year, like your 30th or 40th that they would be planning a surprise for you, is it? Just a thought.
Happy Birthday Jesus... nm
Happy Birthday! Maybe this will be your year! :-)...nm
