When you mentioned the Goldman family that
really brought back memories when I sat in front of my TV on my break and heard the verdict.  As long as I live I will not forget the loud cries of Kim Goldman as her dad held her in the courtroom when they read an innocent verdict.  I was literally sick.  I will hush now, too, but we had to sit by all these years and look at that joke of a man having lap dances, etc.  I almost lost my dinner over that one.  Have a good day.  I am smiling with you.  I was only a matter of time for someone like him with his anger, abusive nature and need to control.
I agree. The Goldman family is a class act. They
deserve justice for their son and this is finally a feather in their cap.  The sight of that moron Simpson makes my blood boil.  Mr. personality can now give that big Colgate smile to his cell mate in prison.  How will he ever continue the search he said he would be on to find the real killer of Nicole and Ron now that he will be incarcerated?  What a joke and what ignorance of the people who let him slip through the first time around.
I read where the Goldman's said they take credit for him being in jail -
they said if they had not pursued him so relentlessly for money he would not have been trying to steal his things back and they take credit and are proud that they pushed him into doing another illegal act so that he would finally be imprisoned.
Sean Goldman is coming home!!!

Thanks to HIllary and Obama getting involved in the case, the little boy is supposed to be returned to his father by 2 p.m. tomorrow. Hopefully, this 5 year battle will be over.

The only hitch is that the stepfather can appeal the decision. Keep your fingers crossed. If the father can get the boy out of Brazil, there may be a good chance it won't go any further.

It looks like the brown one is saying

what's a hot brown?
sorry to be so uninformed!  I'm betting it's a sausage.  Sure does sound good, my mouth is watering!  but I think it might give me heartburn too!  :)
Prayers for both families

Will work to let other MTs with families have day off.

If you think you have a brown recluse
bite, I would suggest going to the ER as soon as possible. Untreated, the bite could fester and cause neuropathy. The daughter of a friend of mine was bit, waited, and infection took place. She has a very bad adverse reaction - she is now on disability. This has been 2 years ago. Better to be safe.
Encyclopedia Brown
There was always some sort of crime or mystery to solve, and at the back of the book, you would find out how Encyclopedia Brown solved it. Also loved Nancy Drew books and Judy Blume.
I come from one of those fighting families.
There have been many, but the defining event would have to be at my father's viewing when his own brother started a fight in front of the open casket. If it were a screenplay, it would have to be a comedy, because the reality of it was too painful to endure. Needless to say, I don't deal with my family unless I have to. I've had too many holidays ruined over the years, and when my children were small, I realized that their holidays would be ruined, as well, if I kept returning to these toxic family gatherings. Now we do things on our own, and life is much nicer. We don't have the Norman Rockwell gatherings of 20 or so people, but that's ok. Maybe some day when I'm a grandmother and great-grandmother, our healthy family will have grown to Norman Rockwell size, and then we'll have a family group that wants to spend time with each other. That is so much better than dreading family gatherings!
Suppose most of our families came from there

Yes, it runs in my families I got it from
my mother. My mother had high blood pressure all her life and never took any medicaments against it. Some people just have high blood pressure and taking medicaments might even do more harm than good. My mother is very healthy and now in her 60s.
I, too, do not take any medicaments, none.

Its so weird, but this is common for these families
with BPD members - when a new person comes along who is actually healthy emotionally, they are always "blamed" for everything. I wish I had more time to share some of this fascinating data, but I have to work...and there are probably those who aren't interested.  When you experience these sick games for years, and then actually read the exact same stuff in medical/psychiatric journals, it is just mind blowing! You realize its NOT you and you're not imagining this stuff. Very enlightening. I wish you all the best.
The bikers are the ones protecting the families
because of all these other rude people who decide that a funeral is a place to protest, whatever..They form a human/motorcycle barrier in between the protestors and the ones grieving.
My heart aches for the families
who will shortly be notified that their child/spouse/loved one will not becoming home. Too many senseless killings these days.
I can surely relate! Families can be so --sm
cruel sometimes. I really think that they don't even think about how their actions or lack thereof affect others sometimes, but we sure feel the hurt, don't we? Hugs to you!
Do you know any organizations that help families in need (one-time need) (sm)
these people need help just for one month getting their bills paid - what organizations are there that do this?  I know they exist in Florida. I am now in NC and just trying to help these people find out where to go for help.  Anyone have any ideas?  It would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks!
How about ideas for siblings and their families? Here's one

I have three siblings, with spouses and children.  Not only is it expensive to buy for all of them, but it's hard to know what to get.  Last year I went to a craft store and bought cheap baskets on sale.  I bought each of them a 2-month subscription to the movies that you get through the mail, NetFlix (can do Blockbuster if you want).  I put the gift certificate in the basket along with the big boxes of candy that they sell at the show (.99 cents apiece at Walgreens), a few packets of microwave popcorn, and a 6-pack of their favorite soda.  They loved it and everybody enjoyed the movies over the next couple of cold winter months.  You can purchase the movie gift certificates on line at their website.

I guess we are one of those boring families, too...sm
We don't fight during the holidays, but then we really don't talk much either. My mom has Alzheimer and my brother just doesn't say much. I try to carry on a conversation, but it is hard to when you are met with silence.
Alton Brown's website
Check Alton Brown's website for recipes. I am a pretty good cook and make Christmas cookies for all of our neighbors and friends every year. Cookies or not, if there is something that I just can't seem to pull off I go to Alton Brown. I have not found a recipe of his that hasn't worked for me yet. It took me 15 years to make a pie crust but I was only able to do it well with Alton Brown's recipe.

I know he also has some recipes where you can make 1 dough and then divide it to make 4 different cookies. I think his black-and-white cookie is that way. Also, marshmellows are not difficult to make but they are so impressive and everyone loves them! It's a little messy with all the powdered sugar but the kids LOVE to make them. Its minimal ingredients and its like a science project when it grows in the mixer. You can also get extracts and make mint marshmellows, strawberry, whatever you want. They go great with hot chocolate. Actually I think this year we are only doing those and sugar cookies because everyone loved them so much the last few years. and maybe some fudge, to give me an excuse to make it. lol
just a liaison between the patient's and families...
and the nursing home, so if they are not addressing your needs, this is an appointed advocate--not employed by the nursing homes--whose job it is to address your concerns.
Our families are important to all of us, but we make it work sm
We fit it all in.  Family, food, fun, and a litte work.  It is not a really big hardship for most MTs.
Alton Brown's "The Chewy"
I've tried all of the chewy chocolate chip recipes out there, and this is the best by far. The recipe calls for giant cookies, but for Christmas, I make them mini-sized, using about 1 heaping teaspoon of dough per cookie. They bake faster, so watch them carefully. I also add pecans to the recipe. I've made them with bittersweet chocolate chips and macadamia nuts, too, and those were INCREDIBLE.

Be sure, however, to really take your time creaming the butter and sugars. And let the melted butter cool to room temperature before mixing with the sugar. The creamed butter and sugar should be thick and fluffy and smooth, almost but not quite peanut butter consistency. If it's not, the cookies will go flop when they come out of the oven, and they don't look as pretty. They still taste great, but they aren't high and pretty.

I can't get the link to post, so here's the URL: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/the-chewy-recipe/index.html
Chris Brown charged with 2 felonies
He should get some time for the beating. Once a beater.......
Definitely think it runs in families. Both parents, 1 sister
and I all have hypertension.  I take 4 different meds with another one for p.r.n. use.  My is pretty well controlled most of the time.  The highest it got was 230/140.
Try Alton Brown's suggestion for the amount of

grounds to use.  As he points out, you can always dilute.  Here is the article:

St. Vincent de Paul helps families in any kind of need
xx
Hope you appreciate them -- the guys' families do care and do help. Hard to believe for some....

I am sure by posting that you care, but some just use and abuse and it's always about the maternal side of the family until they need something again. Congratulations for posting and giving the guy's fanily some credit for a change. We are humans, not just a bank. OMG let the flaming begin!!

Don't be a jerk. Most of us were lucky enough to be born into English speaking families.

There are books also by Sylvia Brown or watch Montel Wednesdays.
My father passed away 5 years ago on 12/25 and I also would like to get some "sign" from him.
Holy smokes, I have thick, long brown hair
$50.00 for cut and color and my hairdresser does a wonderful job.
No recipe, but just mix it 1/2 and 1/2 and put in covered dish or crock pot. Uncover to brown

It's weird, but I'm a brown rice fanatic and weight starting to come off (sm)
I bought a little rice cooker because me and my guy were hungry some nights after working out and we got hooked on rice as kind of a lowfat, low cost, no frills snack. I've gone crazy for it for some reason and eat it sometimes 3 times a day. I guess it's the complex carbs, but it's also seemed to reduce my craving for simple carbs; I'm eating less bread, much less soda, and craving fewer sweet things. I make a batch and keep leftovers in the fridge and reheat if I have a snack attack. I figure, it's better than most of the alternatives (processed, high fat, etc.)
Fran is right..Tends to run in families. If you are, dont bother with Synthroid..I went to Armour
thyroid and never looked back. I tried Synthroid for over a year and they could never get my thyroid back in..I struggled with cold intolerance, fatigue, dry skin, and the worse..weight gain..like 30 pounds and then a doctor put me on a more "natural" thyroid which was Armour. I got my energy back, lost weight etc..I would never use Synthroid or any other synthetic again. Be aware that a huge number of doctors dont like prescribing Armour but I insist that it's the only thing that works for me and they do prescribe it..Good luck to you..
Thanks. I guess what I am really asking is when do most families stop taking Summer vacation and

start getting ready for school opening.

Purulent foul-smelling brown liquid was drained...

I wouldn't trim beforehand either. Just wanted to second the pineapple-brown sugar preparation
toothpicks & maraschino cherries. I place the ham in the center of the pan, do the "diamond" studding with cloves, surround the ham with pineapple slices (have to admit it, I use the ones in heavy syrup),& then off & on sprinkle more brown sugar on top of the ham & pineapples & use a baster to douse the ham with the juices. Hubby had never had a ham prepared that way before let alone with pineapple - now he looks forward to it!! Guess my age and teachings are really showing here :o)
Alton Brown. I like that show, too. He also hosts Iron Chef America.

I'm having a hard time too - Charlie Brown's Christmas music has helped some (sm)
It hasn't been very cold around here...parade yesterday we were sweating. One thing that has helped me is I got the music CD from Charlie Brown's Christmas and have been listening to that and watched the little cartoon. That has always been one of my favorites. But I'm just not feeling it much either this year! I think the fact that the stores put the Christmas stuff out right after Halloween and sometimes before just makes it all seem like another day! And for me these days it just seems like a time of year where I have to spend money. Anyway, you're not alone :-)
Hark the Herald Angels Sing on Charlie Brown's Christmas sm
I have the whole CD from Charlie Brown's Christmas and enjoyed it so much last year! Will start listening to it again this year after Thanksgiving :-)
