Bought digital TV still no luck

I bought a new TV that has digital in it and an antenna that was compatible with digital back in February but when the switch happened last week, I now get if I am lucky one channel every few days. I used to have an antenna on the roof but someone stole it and I never replaced it because the analog worked well out here but the digital does not.

Just bought a Kodak digital camera without optical viewer and find the LCD screen is very difficult
to see what you are taking in bright sunlight. I just read on the internet this happens with many cameras. Any suggestions for this. I dont want to spend tons of money on a camera because I dont use them that often but I am not very happy with this. I tried to get a camera with the optical viewer but almost none of them except the really high end had this. A lot of people complain about this LCD washout. Just wondered if there is any fix for this without getting another camera. This is a Kodak Easyshare. Great in cloudy weather or inside but the sun is another story.
Digital TV
This new switchover to digital has caused quite a bit of problems in my area. We are over 100 miles from the tv stations and if I am lucky, I get one station that pops on and off. I am looking to buy a big antenna for the roof, however, I am the only one here right now. No man to rely on to climb on the roof. I have been looking in the yellow pages and all I see is cable and satellite, which I refuse to use, I prefer FREE tv. Anyway, does anyone know what type of worker installs antennas? Electrical contractor or just a handyman? I appreciate any help as I dont know anything about antennas. Thank you!
I think it can be both digital only or printed (sm)
if I understand it correctly. But you have to have a pretty good printer to print your page creation, I would say, or be able to send the image to a photo shop.
The CM Memory Manager program is actually pretty affordable so far as they go; I think it's 40 dollars. I used some of the free organizing softwares out there but none of them really quite worked with my brain right, if that makes sense, and the CM one did. But then again, I also use their photo organizing system as well, and it's sort of based on that. Plus I could do red eye fixes and light editing, which takes many of my pictures from just mediocre to good.
As an aside, the paper products and tools that CM has ARE pretty expensive compared to some other brands, but the quality is really high. You can go to the bank on the archival quality of their papers, unlike the stuff you find at the discount stores. (I was surprised to find that there's no law controlling the claim of 'acid free' or 'archival safe' it means nothing legally!) Then again, they're not the only good stuff out there, either, which is what some try to tell you. That was true a decade ago, perhaps, but not anymore. JMHO.
What about a digital frame?
DH and his sister are getting one for his parents, don't know what brand but think he ordered off newegg.com. Don't how much you're spending but I think there are some smaller ones you can get for under 100. Of course, if they're not savvy on electronics, like my mom, you might have to set it up and don't know what that involves since I've never seen one myself.
Digital Camera
I have a digital camera that is only about 2 years old. I used it one day and it was fine. My husband used it the next day and the display does not show the picture or any information. I have not taken it into a camera shop yet but plan to as soon as I can get there. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem before? Can it be fixed? Is it expensive? I hope I don't have to buy a new camera. It still works, I just cannot preview the pictures, take videos, see the battery life or how many pictures I have taken, change settings or anything because I can't see the display.
Second to this note, if I do have to get a new one I am looking for suggestions. I currently have a Sony, so I would like to use the same memory cards (very expensive and I have 3). BUT, I do not like the delay on my current camera and would like a digital without delay but had a hard time finding one when I bought this camera. Of course, small and compact size is also a feature that I like.
with a digital TV you need a VHF/UHF antenna.
I can also be a rabbit-ear antenna that you connect to your TV and put next to the digital TV. Not necessarily a roof-top antenna.
The closer to a window and the higher it is positioned, the better it will work.
RE: Digital Cameras - has anyone ever had a problem with your (sm)
digital camera and the LCD not displaying? Is there a fuse or something that possibly burns out??
The new digital ones give excellent
pictures and you probably won't have to get any of those extra pictures they used to have to do a lot. They can see better all the way out to the skin, so if you have a mole or something it won't cause confusion; they can see exactly what's going on. Therefore it's worth calling around and seeing if digital mammography is available at any centers in your area.
I believe it is going to end the cycle of mammo/US/bx my mom has had to go thru in the past that always turned out to be just scar tissue (after the first benign bx).
Regarding digital phone messages
Can anyone here tell me how I can download messages from my digital phone answering machine to a disk, computer, Zune MP3 player, or other separate device, or if this is even possible with a digital phone that did not come with that capability?
The phone is a Siemens Gigaset 4015 and is about 8 years old. One of the messages I am wanting to download is a precious message that my son left about 3 years ago and I would really like to be able to make sure I do not lose it.
TIA!
Sony digital camera sm
Read the book, Googled, given Sony digital camera and a color printer for Christmas. Don't understand how I can print directly from the camera. Is there an extra cable needed? If this is a simple yes/no answer, I would appreciate it. Dumb and dumber when it comes to pictures, have a throwaway which is the only thing I ever use. Hate to ask the person who gave it to me, as he's too busy. Is there a cable that pops into the little hole in the camera so I can chose a pic and print it right from the camera? Excuse the ignorance. Thanks!
If you have a digital TV, you need a VHF/UHF antenna, no converter box....sm
If you do not have a digital TV, you need a coverter box and a VHF/UHF antenna.
And in both cases you have to do a channel re-scan.
She had a digital TV, I made the same assumption - sm
when I first responded. So now she need to know what kind of antenna to get, and she wanted to know who could put it up. In that respect I would look in the Yellow pages under antenna or TV/satellite installation. That should put her on the right track.
Anyone with digital camers do you take the batteries out when not using or leave them in. nm
:
Does anyone that has a digital camera with only the LCD screen and not the viewer know where you can
find a shader to put over the LCD screen for washout.
Nikon Cool Pix (pics?) digital
Got a Nikon from my husband last Christmas and I love it. It is easy to work, is digital, software is simple, camera is small, but not too small. Pixels are terrific and the features are many. I would recommend it. It is on sale most of the time at Costco. The add on memory is fairly affordable too and I love to just keep the camera with us and add pictures until I have free time to upload them. Another thing I love about is that the battery stays charged for a long, long time. It takes beautiful pictures too!
Saw a digital photo keychain HSN few weeks ago that

Here is a funny pertaining to switching to digital TV in February

Got new digital camera, resistent at first and now those darn batteries
am having loads of fun taking my furkid's pictures. The question I have is my batteries have already played out after a very short period of time. What do most of you do regarding keeping a supply of batteries around. Do you have ways to prolong the life, do you buy loads at a time, do you buy in bulk? Thanks.
Anyone know where you can buy accessories for a Kodak digital such as Kodak batteries, SD card,
carrying case, etc. all at one place. Thanks
She's out of luck....sm
You only are eligible for Medicare when you reach retirement age. Not your spouse... YOU! For Social Security, she can only get it when she reaches retirement age and the amount depends on how much she worked. Since she has only worked 3 months in her life she's not going to get anything. She doesn't get a check just because her husband gets one.
If her husband happens to die the she would receive his Social Security check until she reaches retirement age, then it is cut off, and if she remarries it would stop the second she got married. If he dies she does not get Medicare just because he had it.
I'm really luck
I love my neighbor and my neighorhood. In the summer there's always at least 15 children running around playing and all the "grown-ups" are out in the front yards just talking and we always have weekend parties and picnics. I don't know what I'd do if I had some of the neighbors that the posters have.
He should consider himself luck!
We are usually at 1-2 times a week at my house. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Very much depends on what time of the month it is for me because sometimes I want it more! Guess my hormones are getting whacky? Been married 25 years.
I wish you luck!
Its a difficult thing. I would have put up with it longer, although I also didn't know what else to try.
I had luck with 2 of them, and almost a 3
The first one loved to climb up my coat and sit on my shoulders. It took about a month to tame that one.
The second one was somewhat more feral. It took 2 months just to get him to trust us and another month to get him in the house. Every sound spooked him and he tried to jump through our glass sidelight when my husband came out of the bedroom one morning. Poor thing went and hid for part of the day. He did love being in the house, but also liked being outside to roam. I could never break either of them to not want to be outside.
The third one was quite old and we tried for over a year. He wouldn't let us get within 5 feet of him, but it was better than 100 feet. Sadly, we found him dead in the field shot by the jerk who hunts rabbits. The cat could not have been mistaken for a rabbit as he was a bright golden yellow/orange. I would have called the SPCA but we can't prove this jerk did it. We just know it because it wasn't the first time it happened.
Now we have another orange cat and a beautiful black and white long hair hanging around. The orange seems a bit more tame and we have gotten within 3 feet of him, but the black and white is too skittish. The hope of taming the orange is nil since we now have a dog that doesn't seem to like cats. I would get rid of the dog but he was DH's birthday present a few years back. LOL
Good luck to you
Sounds like you are very wise to ignore the co-workers insulting behavior and just ''keep on keepin on''. Good for you for not adding to the misery or joining in the gossip cliques! It's so hard to be in a unfriendly/hostile environment but you will prevail because you are working for something important--your family--not expensive lunches or parties. (Your post reminded me how nice to work at home.)
Will do! Good luck to you! nm

Good luck to you!
I'm sure it will look great. Be creative. They find the oddest things at junk yards, etc.
Good luck!
Sounds like you are trying to make some good positive changes in your lifestyle as well. We all wish you the best. Thanks for sharing your experiences with those of us who are curious about Alli.
Good luck to ya! :) nm

Good luck
Back around Christmas we started our new lifestyle, no partially hydrogenated anything, no high fructose corn syrup. More veggies and organic everything that we can afford. The difference it makes is truly incredible. We have been telling everyone we know about it. Next on our list to get rid of: MSG.
I think you are going to be so impressed with how you feel in a couple of weeks, you will just not believe it.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Good luck!! What are you doing to keep from
reaching for a cigarette?
Good luck to you (sm)
I'll be praying for you and everyone over there. My son is in the Marines at Camp Pendleton and from his porch in Temecula he can see the smoke but assures me the fire is moving away from him. He's signed up on their roster to help fight the fires when they call them to. Here on the east coast we're praying for rain and we'll pray you get some too.
Good luck!
Hopefully they will drop her suspension.
Luck you! Getting to live over there for a bit!
I envy people who get to travel all over the world (or heck, even this country!) and stuff. All the sights, sounds, smells, tastes....too cool for school!
That's cool that treacle actually exists....I only ever heard it mentioned in Harry Potter before as 'treacle fudge.' Of course...who woulda ever thunk they'd make those nasty Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans either?! Booger and vomit flavored beans...that's just nasty!
Sounds like you have my luck....
It seems like I always find something that I want that is a set and cannot find the whole set! I'm sure the plates will turn up soon, especially on replacements, ltd. You may even be able to email them and get notified when they get them.
Good luck to you. (sm)
It is always nice to hear when someone finally finds relief with medication. I am sure it is very distressing to live with fibromyalgia and waiting to find something that works. Good for you. I am going to mention this to my brother, another fibromyalgia sufferer.
good luck -
double sided sticky tape - my cat pulls it off and eats it.
squirt bottle of water - of course if you will have to be watching them 24/7 - cats do not respond to behavioral conditioning like dogs do.
plastic covers for furniture - so what was the point of getting new furniture?
aluminum foil - another good look for your new furniture.
scratching posts placed strategically - and they're not smart enough to realize this game.
they make covers for claws that you can order - don't know much about them - but they stick on each individual claw somehow.
Thanks and good luck
I was in that same boat too until recently.
Good Luck!!...nm

With my luck you want me to buy a METAL SM
back scratcher? I can almost quote the time the bolt of lightening will come through the window during a storm and take me out! LOL!!! If it's all the same to you, I'll stick to the wooden variety!!
Best of luck to your brother...sm
I am glad he is getting this checked out and that they moved the stress test up. The sooner they figure out what's going on, the sooner he can treat it and at least get that stress out of the way. Let us know how things go.
Great luck!
My brother is going to keep the dogs for her! He's in Texas and she is in Georgia so she will probably drive to Texas. Everything seems to be working out. Thanks for all of the suggestions!
Good luck is all I can say......
We don't have an ASPCA type set up here either but do have animal control, which is a joke. All they do is pick up a stray dog now and then and road kill; otherwise, they don't do their job. My mother has watched neighbors get one dog after the other, the puppies are leashed and literally die before her eyes of parvo. She repeatedly calls animal control, which are the police, and they don't do a thing. The dogs eventually die a miserable death and nothing is done to the owners at all. My brother finally flat out told one of her neighbors he would take a little mommy dog who had already had puppies after puppies and was starving to death. In 110 degree heat she doesn't even get water except from him who sneaks her some. They handed her over but she was already ate up with heartworms and died shortly thereafter. Our animal control is a joke...they won't even go into the yard to check out the animals. They say they can't.....so what the heck are they there for?
I just hope yours runs things better than ours...find out the laws in your state and be prepared to push those laws if you see nothing is being done.
Good luck!!!!!
I wish you luck. I'm too tired to do
the second or third job anymore, or else I would try again. I did it for 20 years. but I'm burned out. I'm no spring chicken and will be celebrating another year older on Monday which also doesn't make me happy, but time does not stop.
Hubby is retiring next year and I'm really trying to stop him as it means only $1400 a month coming in for him...of course, he has no bills, while I have all of 'em. My reitrement bennies are only $700 a month because they deducted SS from me when I first went IC and didn't have to pay taxes because I was at a loss those first years. It's a ripoff. I had gone from $800 a month in the ྌs to $200 a month 3 years later. Now I'm back up to the above amount after 10 years. What a ripoff!
I hope you're a lot younger than I am and can get yourself out of debt before you are like me. I wish you the best.
I think you're out of luck as far as the SM
money if he's not answering. As for the part you wrote about police/fire having so much integrity, I'm glad you have people of good character in your family, but really I have never ever known a cop or a fireman who was trustworthy.
In the future, I don't care who the person is, how well you know them or whatever. If you lend money, get it in writing OR never expect to see it again.
Congrats!! Good luck to all of you!

Good luck and just have fun. Why nervous?
Because he's a doctor or just because it's a first date?
Good luck with your furkid....I have one
that I am trying to put on a diet...boy, is he mad! He must weigh almost 20 pounds.
