Both my parents took it early but I mean 5 years early - sm

as you are only talking a year I would wait as you will get more money in the long run, versus taking it a year early. Remember it stays at whatever it will be when you take it early the rest of your life. So if it is $500 at 65 but $600 if you wait, I'd wait. My mom started drawing it at 62, she died at 68, so if she had waited she would not have made up the difference; so in her case it paid to take it early, but most of us don't plan on dying shortly after retiring.

My daughter in early school years
wore a size 10 and now grown wears a 12. She is in her 30s and years ago nearly impossible to find shoes that were not old lady types to fit her, at least now you have all kinds to choose from.
Too early for me
not an entire hair but head-full of hair.
Get up early
I have a 20 month old and a 4 year old and have been doing this since they were born. I have their toys in the same office and have them confined to a couple of rooms of the house. I get up early and get a good part of my day in before they even wake up. Then, I take a break for lunch (breakfast, get dressed, etc.). Then I finish up the rest while they play or watch cartoons. It really works out pretty well, although at times it is trying. I just try to remind myself it is better for them to be home with me.
It was in the early 90's
And that hospital was known for its psych ward, and just happened to be the closest one to where I worked.  I don't recall what tests they did (but they didn't want to do many on an ER basis, I remember that, so they were pushing me to become an inpatient).  Mostly they just sat and asked me questions, decided it wasn't life-threatening (and possibly not even "real').  Maybe I sounded crazy because I was scared enough by it to go there in the first place.  As they took it so lightly, and I realized I could function with it (though it was distracting), I decided to just let it be.  I was embarrassed because nobody I knew had ever had something like that, and it did sound "crazy" when I started telling people it felt like there were worms or bugs crawling beneath the skin of my scalp and face...and now the ER thought I needed the psych ward....so I decided to quit talking about it.  Which turned out the be the thing to do, in my case.
Early as possible
Consequences of choices should be taught as soon as they can hear. This is an important concept in so many ways. It is basic and teenagers grown-ups who have not learned it in childhood don't usually commit suicide over an insult even though they may have major problems with "shaking it off." I believe, again, that there was more than meets the eye in this case. If you never learned in childhood you should make it your priority to learn it now and share it with everyone you know. This was not a "gesture" of suicide, which is often a reaching out for help and/or attention. The method chosen was lethal.
Thank you - can you tell me what the early (sm)
signs or symptoms were? I do let my son pretty much wear what he wants and have his hair how he wants. I have been asking him to get it out of his eyes and I don't want to let him wear old shirts with stains but I'm very lenient with him. When the clothes are in the laundry though, there is not much I can do. I guess I could put him in charge of making sure they are clean? As far as early symptoms, was it anything like this? My son would get very upset if I moved any pictures on the walls or rearranged any furniture and he had a fit if I got my hair cut enough that he could tell a difference, this was up until he was about 5 or so. But he is a very good child, never really gets in trouble, has friends though he is very selective about them so has just a handful.
No, she's in her early 30s.
I love Grey's, too - Thursday nights, my work has to wait until it's over - completely addicted!

Through the rumor mill, I also heard that Patrick Dempsey was going to leave the show because he wanted more time with his family and to further his movie career. If that happens, I'm not sure I'll still be into it as much, but Eric Dane would still be a pretty big pull.

We usually go end June or early
July, but this year we waited until the first week of August and was already better on crowds!
Early August in AL
August 7 in the Prattville AL area.
Absolutely no way. I am in my early 30s and......
have a secret crush on my dentist who is in his 60s. Younger guys are too immature and don't know a thing...
Yes I am sure, retire early and take your - sm
benefits at a reduced rate. This is from the yearly SS Statement I get in the mail. Also in teh "Before you decide to retire" section; "If you choose to receive benefits before you reach full retirement age, your benefits will be permantely reduced. However you will receive benefits fora longer period of time." (in theory of course). This is from my statement dated August 20, 2007; I kind of doubt it has changed. I remember when my parents decided to take it early; they did not really need the money but figured what the hey, and in my mom's case it worked to their benefit. You need to do the math and figure out the year to income ratio of the difference, etc. In my case, if I take it at 62 I would get $640 a month, wow; but if I wait until I am 67 I get $914-- $274 is not a huge difference but it is to many; and a fair amount to me even now. If I wait until I am 70, I get $1134 -- $220 more a month; now I doubt I'd hold out for that, but I guess it will just depend on my health and financial situation at that time. In order to make that money/break even on my benefits I'd pass on until I was 70; I would have to live until at least 82 to have made the 32K I would have gotten had I taken the $914 at age 67. ---So in my case I sure I will take it at my specified age of 67. I like working and keeping busy. Everything will be paid for then, so I am sure I will be able to live on earnings from a PT job until I decide to collect SS. But I have a ways to go as I am only 42!
No wonder I got my period early!!
:)
My doc says it's early hearing loss. sm
I went in 2 weeks ago for my check up and complained about the ringing in my right ear. He said it's early hearing loss and if it bothers me to see the ENT and get a hearing test done. LOL-like I have time for that right now.
Central PA ~ It's been snowing since early a.m.

Could get up to a foot at least from what I heard.  So don't like hearing that!

I am talking very early 60s and only available for married
then, was told that by a physician who said could not prescribe UNLESS married, in fact the year was 1962. I have no idea when Planned Parenthood started but as a young girl had no knowledge about that. Things have changed for females so much over the years.
Have guy cousins in early 20s and my nephew
is 17. They shop a lot at Macy's. We're in the NY area. Apparently certain brand names are "in" like Ecko, Sean John, Polo, etc. but can be very expensive. As far as hairstyles, maybe check out the hairdos on some of the clothing/store websites. Here's one from Macy's. If I lived near you; I'd help with the makeover :) Sounds like fun. lol

my Pop died early 2005-have never gotten over it

I love Early Edition...sm

Kyle Chander is such a cutie pie.  Also like M*A*S*H and ER (pre-Dr. Green dying) and Gilmore Girls.

both - early riser and stay up until 1-2 a.m. nm

Yeah, only the nuts go that early; I get up about 8 and go then - sm
my neighbor is going at 4, I told her she was nuts. I don't go to get anything specific though, I just go for fun. I am pretty much done shopping already for the kids, just need stocking stuffers and a few gift cards and I will be totally done. Most of the early bird sales last until noon or 1 p.m. so why kill yourself.
Why does everyone get up so early to cook a turkey? - sm
the only think I can figure is you must eat it at noon. We would get up around 8, make the stuffing, prepare the bird, stuff it and put it in the oven between 10-11. This would be an 18-21 pound turkey, cook it 20 mins per pound, so we would pull it out about 5, then make the homemade gravy (took a good 30 mins to do that), prepare the mashed potatoes, and eat about 6. In between we have a relaxing day of playing board games, watching football or James Bond movies. All I ever see is, mom got in the middle of the night and put the turkey in the oven before we were even awake......either that was one heck of a big bird or they ate turkey for breakfast or lunch. (or else it came out dry as a rock).
Yep - I think it is consistency and starting early! (sm)
I am not 100% opposed to spanking them if they were to just refuse to listen to me, but it doesn't come to that. It did a few times when they were very young and I taught them off the bat that they were not going to win. I'm the mom!
I am taking mine early
I turn 62 in January, and I am taking early benefits. I feel I have been working since I started babysitting at the ripe old age of 11, and haven't stopped since. Got my first "real" job at 16, and other than going to college, I have been working most of my life. I don't know what will happen with Social Security over the next 10 years or so, but I want to take what I have now and enjoy it. It is a good little sum of money and will help so much to pay bills, or put something away in the bank. My husband is semi-retired and his health is not that good, and he took his out several years ago when he turned 62 also, and doesn't regret it. It has helped us survive.
Darn, early in the morning, should have been
part of her hair, not head.
I start early in the morning also
I get up and start at 4 a.m., take a break from 6:30-7:30 to get the kids up, ready and off to school, then come back home and work until it's time to go get them at 3:00. Of course, there are those days where I have to do laundry and clean house on some days!
PA too and our kids were actually sent home early
due to the heat!  We were never sent home for that one.  Spent the day at the pool with the kids and now it's time to work.
I like to get my Christmas shopping done early.
So, I am happy to see it out early.

How terrible that you would feel that way -- Halloween wasn't out yet (which is not an ongoing gift-giving, love-based holiday) and you are irritated over that while Christmas was.

Shaking my head over that.

sorry..that should read my husband AND I. too early. nm.
nm
It should be coming your way. I like the snow too, but just a little too early for me.
The roads are getting covered now. I guess I better get the shovels out. It is like a blizzard with the wind, but I am cozy too.
Early X-mas shopping at walmart.com..sm
Does anyone know if the specials that Walmart offers on black Friday in the stores are also available online?  I am working Friday and I do not want to go to Walmart at 5 am just for 3 or 4 items, but on at least one item I would save 30 bucks.  I do not want to over extend myself by getting up and going to Walmart and then coming back home trying to get in the work mode.  I am usually so frustrated by the crowds and disrespectful people that I am irritatated when I return home.
In the early 70s, maybe 1972?, my entire
family got what was believed to be the swine flu. I was young and barely remember it, but my parents said they've never in their lives been that sick. I don't want it...
I don't even remember having the option of booking early

but that was 10 years ago.  I also agree that it was no big deal to plan your excursions once you were on board.  Have a fabulous time!  My mom us to Bermuda when she retired in 1996 and we still talk about that trip.

Is he jaundiced? Is he fatigued or tired? I believe these are the early sm
signs of cirrhosis and you didn't mention either of these.

I am the same boat with my husband. He has had elevated ASTs and ALTs for about 5 years now - keeps going up, and he is severely jaundiced. I pray, pray, pray that it is his gallbladder (as are you, I'm sure) because you and I both know that any liver damage/disease is very scary for them and for us too!

My husband is fairly young, in his mid 30s, but I know that liver disease can strike any age if you are unhealthy. He is unhealthy. Our PCP told him to make an appointment (finally) with a GI doc which I am going to do tomorrow. My husband has been putting me off from doing this (pure fear) but he knows he must be seen.

I am very, very concerned about the jaundice. His skin is yellow! It's been getting worse over the past 6 months or so.

Anyways, good luck with your husband.
I'm 40 and my production in the early a.m. hours is awful
I can't really get going until around 9:00 or so. I go to bed around 12:30 and get up before 7. Guess I need more sleep too.
Do you wake up early in the AM with the beginning of pain? (sm)
My migraines were often caused by a sinus headache run amok. I would wake up early, like 4:00 AM, with a tiny little sinus headache. If I was too lazy to get up and take something for it, (decongestant with pseudoephedrine in it) and 2 aspirin, I'd wake up with an out-of-control headache at 8:00 AM that would no longer respond to anything. That in turn would usually trigger a migraine. For me anyway, the secret to preventing the migraine was getting that sinus headache under control. The best combination (for me) was 2 regular-strength Sudafed and 2 extra-strength Excedrin (or Excedrin Migraine) taken immediately upon feeling even the slightest twinge in the early morning. Then I'd go back to sleep, ND 9 times out of 10, I'd wake up headache-free.

For out-of-control migraines, (or when I was out of Imitrex), I had good results with lying down & placing an ice bag directly on the exact spot where the pain was on the top right side of my head, and PUSHING ON IT. Once the proper dilated vein or artery was getting chilled, I would feel relief, but ONLY if I remained absolutely motionless, and KEPT ON PUSHING. Under the best circumstances, I could sometimes abort the migraine in an hour or two. At at the very worst, at least it made it easier to endure.

Sometimes sucking on a popsicle helps, too! (But probably not a good idea for the sinusitis!) ;D

With a recent sinus INFECTION, I got good, though not long-lasting, pain relief with Excedrin Sinus Headache, which has no aspirin in it.

Have you tried changing brands (or permanancy) of hair colors? Maybe you're allergic to the fumes, if it's not causing your skin to break out.

Interesting Note: I refer to my migraines in the past tense because in the past 6-8 years they've gradually disappeared, and are now rare, and considerably milder. Menopause may have played a role, but about the same time the headaches began to disappear, I had been diagnosed with depression and begun taking an SSRI. SSRIs have recently been found to reduce or eliminate menopausal symptoms, and I believe it, as I never had any symptoms at all - not even a single hot flash. I notice while transcribing (especially Neurology...) that lots of people who have depression also have migraines. Coincidence? I'm starting to think not. My depressive episodes almost always coincided with a migraine, and it was impossible to tell which one might have caused the other. SO --- if SSRIs can cure hot flashes, I wonder if they might also be helping with the migraines, which are also a result of dilated blood vessel(s)??? Food for thought. Might be worth asking a neurologist about.

As for migraine PREVENTION, I learned a lot from a doctor I used to have who GOT migraines. (BIG difference between that type of doc, and one who DOESN'T get them!) He told me to avoid:
1. Strobe lights or strobing fluorescent lights.*
2. Sleeping in late on weekends if I normally get up early on weekdays.
3. Skipping meals.
4. Movies, cartoons or TV shows with bright flashing colors/lights and jerky movements.*
5. Looking at copy-machines while they are photocopying.*

* (This is because migraines are believed by some doctors to be related to epileptic attacks - the aura, that post-ictal feeling afterwards, etc., and some epileptic attacks can be triggered by strobes and flashing lights. I've even had them brought on by driving along a highway with frequent, intermittent changes from sun to shade caused by a row of tall trees on one side with the sun behind them.)

One more "handy hint", then I'll shut up! You know how when you have a migraine attack, and one by one have to cross things off your day's "to-do" list, including social commitments? And when you call to cancel, people treat you like a malingerer, telling you to just "take an aspirin" and "shake it off?" Or even getting angry and yelling at you? Well, I got tired of that, and started telling folks I had the FLU, instead. Same symptoms, but "flu" is something people can relate to and understand! (Plus they don't want to catch it from you!) ;p
saw the Beatles with Ed Sullivan back in early 60s

It may be because of his early death with the children and my inability
to work due to taking care of them at the time. You are right that is what it states on the website, but I can only go by my particular situation and my benefit amount. The whole process is so confusing and all, but I am only speaking from my experince. Best bet is to call with your situation and find out first hand, because in the beginning they told me I was not even eligible (with 2 small children) and then 2 years later paid a large back sum amount and started my benefits. It's the government and very confusing.
Started being alone at an early age, good thing now with this job but
probably my favorite thing was going over to a small creek to catch frogs, tadpoles (tried to grow those to make frogs), caught salamanders, found dead snake and put it in alcohol in a jar, caught beetles and gave them as a present for my mother (she came in from work to discover all her lipsticks out on the counter and when she opened her little box, there was my present). She like to have killed me on that one! I loved to catch June bugs and fly them around. I have wonderful, wonderful memories of these things and sorta found lots to do just with me and me alone- good thing I did now with the work I do, right? I could still hibernate in my home for a week and not be bothered at all- love my own company.
Back from Atlanta early..Remember me from below? :( nm

We ended up fighting most of the time and ended up coming home this afternoon. We didn't go to this restaurant I wanted to visit so bad, nothing.

Got home, didn't say a word, and then WWIII began.  Words flew! Emotions flew! It's so, so sad.  I heard for the 1st time tonight that he doesn't think he can live like this anymore.  He's never said those words to me before.  We're both hard headed, completely opposite, and continue to hurt each other.  He's passive, apathetic, quiet, I'm outgoing, bubbly, fun - he makes me mad, I make him mad. It's like we can't appreciate the differences in each other. It makes us angry.  I wanted him to be EXCITED about taking me to this restaurant I've been talking about for weeks. Instead he grumbled about traffic.  Finally, about 3 o'clock today I just said, "FORGET IT! LET'S JUST GO HOME!!!" And he turned the car around and we went home. I couldn't believe it!  Of course that made me appalled!  I didn't really mean for him to take me home early!! Doesn't he know better?

So when we fought he told me he couldn't read my mind and I yelled, "after 10 years how can you NOT read my mind? You KNEW I didn't really want to go home!"  And on and on it went.

I'm sad tonight. Sounds so stupid and immature on both sides, I know.  I just wish he would open up and be romantic, not complain, and just be sweet. Be something! Be excited about being in Atlanta with me.......I'm going to bed alone tonight and I'm going to cry.

Too early to discuss New Year's Resolutions?

I'm going to put extra effort into getting more organized and get back into crocheting!

Well I am early morning and evening worker
My body just does better and so I tell myself it is okay.  I go strong from 5 to 11, out to deliver, back and then work 1 to 3 at a clinic, back home and then 7 to 9 sometimes later.  Before I had the clinic I still took afternoons off as I am not a good producer in the afternoon and so I worked from 6 to 11 and then 6 to 9 or so.  But I have my own accounts and can let me body dictate when my productive times are.
You shouldn't feel this way so early in your marriage (sm)
Take it from someone who stuck around way too long and now has a much more complicated situation (children and money involved) - cut your losses now and find someone you are a better match with. It has nothing to do with your weight. Your husband should be treating you with lots of love and attention right now in your marriage...if not, something is wrong. You can find someone else who would be a better match for you. Don't wait until there are children and finances and so many other complicating factors keeping you there!! However things are at the beginning of a marriage, they will only get worse as time goes on. I know it is hard, I know you love him, but it is not going to work. Again, cut your losses now, and move on to a better future!
Got mine in 3 weeks, but sent in early February.
The later you wait to send in your return, the longer it takes.
Cat early riser/ late sleeper

Is it too early to discuss New Year's resolutions?

I have already decided that 2009 is going to be a much better year.  These are my realistic resolutions:

1. To take better care of myself (this includes eating healthier, exercising even if I can only find 15 minutes, indulging in a bubble bath now and then AND making time for some of my long-forgotten hobbies).

2. Gain control of my finances.  I would like to pay off one credit card by summer and do everything possible to avoid creditors calling.

3. Be a better friend by spending more time with them.  It may be just having lunch once a month or surprising them now and then with their favorite chocolate or coffee.  Something to show that they mean something to me!

sorry, meant "PugmoM" - too early to be typing!

My husband got ours as sort of an early birthday present for me
back at the end of July. My birthday isn't until the middle of September, but he happened to stop at Target on his way to work one day and they had just gotten about 9 or 10 Wii systems in, so he got it then as I had told him that was what I really wanted for my birthday, and he knew that we probably wouldn't be able to find them when it got closer to my birthday. He is just as hooked as I am on it! He has bought himself a ton of games, and I have bought a ton for me too! He likes the war-type/shooting games, and I like the Mario type of games, so I bought every game that had Mario in it and reserved every one that is coming out for the Wii! LOL! Right now, I am playing Mario Galaxy and am totally addicted! I find myself taking breaks during work to get my quick Wii fix! LOL!
I agree and leaving early not sore loser (sm)
I think that's just graceful, letting the winners have their day plus that had to really sting after the great season they had. But what a great game it was. Both teams should be proud they made it there.
