Can wax paper be substituted for parchment paper? nm
beatles
I took my 16-year-old daughter to see Paul in concert in 2005. It was spectacular! It lasted over 2 hours pretty much nonstop. I think she was more excited than I was! I love that my teenager loves "my" music.
My screen name is a bow to the Beatles (sm)
George Harrison is my favorite all-time musician. I love him, love him, love him. He made the guitar sing. I love the Beatles as well.
I've never seen Paul in concert. He was never my favorite Beatle but wrote my favorite Beatles song (Lady Madonna), but I'd never pass up a chance to see him in concert. Are you going to see him?
I absolutely love the music around the time of Revolver and Rubber Soul.
I'm 35 and I love the Beatles!
I especially dig their stuff they put out while they were on acid or whatever the hallucinagenic of choice was. And yes, I do blame Yoko for their breakup.
"Have you seen the little piggies crawling in the dirt, and for all the little piggies life is getting worse, always having dirt to play around in."
Hey, the Beatles were young once too ...
and those songs weren't too much for them. I agree that some of them are young and don't know the songs, but that's true of any theme they've done. At least they aren't having to choose songs that have been done by prior Idol contestants.
SPOILER WARNING:
I don't dislike Amanda Overmyer (rocker chick), but her skills are limited to one particular type of music, so I'm not sad she was voted off tonight. I don't care for Kristy Lee Cook, so she could have gone. I like Michael Johns, but his performances haven't hit the mark. I enjoy David Cook. He looks happy rather than cocky to me. He looks like he was doing what he was born to do. I can't believe Carly Smithson (tattoos, from Ireland I think) was in the bottom three. Ramiele is missing something but I'm not sure what. Chikezie is fantastic when the song is bluesy. I think Brooke White is good but a bit predictable. I enjoy Jason Castro very much.
Top talents IMO are:
David Archulata, David Cook, Carly Smithson.
I think Syesha Mercado gave an A performance this time also. She just isn't as reliable as my top 3 picks.
Absolutely love the Beatles...
but I have never seen Paul in concert. It is never funny when someone dies, but when a song would come on the radio and I would say to my daughter when she was about 5 "that is Paul" or "that is John" she would always say "Is he the one with Wings or the dead one?
Oceans.... Stones or Beatles.

I'd recommend seeing the Beatles "Love." Outstanding!
Any Beatles/Paul McCartney fans out there??
Has anyone ever seen Paul McCartney in concert??
saw the Beatles with Ed Sullivan back in early 60s

Sounds great. Have fun. Are you going to see the Beatles Cirque de Soleil?

My cat has a plastic
and Q-tip fetish. Even though I try my hardest to keep these things away from him, because he eats them, he still manages to find them. It's like he has radar or something. He also likes to lay in the bathroom sink. His name is also weird, so I guess it fits him. But I love him anyways.
I was on my way to being a plastic junkie
with this being 1 of several. I am really glad for mine, I do not care for my belly to extend down past my knees.. and I have had 2 face lifts, breast reduction, hmmm think that about does it but never ever sorry I had the tummy. More exercise and less sedentary work would take care of the rest of the weight, can do something about the exercise but the work? I would think most who have had the stomach done would totally agree with me. Sorry your friends did not work out but that is just what you do when you toss the coin with elective plastic surgery.
Me, too. My plastic plants die. nm

You could see a plastic surgeon. Don't think it would be too

plastic popcorn
Hayseed, you are too funny! I totally forgot about those until seeing it here - used to have a tree, snowman, etc. Don't know what ever happened to them. Probably in my "want to impress" years threw them away. Thank heavens we all mature and get out of that stage - I'm much happier being the real me, corny stuff and all. I have a couple of friends who seem to have more money than Bill Gates and they are into frugal retro as well. Merry Christmas and happy popcorn hunting!!
this kitty has a plastic bag and Q-tip
obsession. He eats plastic bags (I know it's not good for him). No matter how hard I try to keep them away from him, he finds them. It's like he has radar. Luckily we haven't had any clogs in his system from it. As for the Q-tips. He digs those out of the bathroom trash and carries them around (gross I know) and them ultimately drowns them in his water bowl. He's somewhat of a freak too.
I heard this from a plastic surgeon also,
that they don't use peroxide much anymore. In certain cases they will use it to clean out a cyst cavity, but they mix it with saline in equal proportions.
I remember those plastic decorations
being sold as fundraisers at our school. I think it was the Band Boosters. I'm in East Central Indiana, BTW.
Plastic. Shrek or the Three Stooges LOL.

You could put a plastic or aluminum "collar" around the -
trunk of the tree, maybe at about your chest-height. (So the cat can't jump over it.) He'd have to climb up to it, but if it's fairly wide, maybe 1-1/2 to 2 feet, he won't be able to get a grip on it and won't be able to climb any further. It won't hurt the tree, and you can then remove and store it once the babies have left the nest.

Plastic Cap to a Lysol Spray Can up the....
Yes indeedy, most amusing one I ever typed. I cannot imagine how or why one would insert the plastic cap to a can of Lysol spray up the rectum.
All kinds of possible scenarios came to mind, and I kept myself amused all through my shift contemplating them!
I have a small collection of these, too. The plastic glitter ones

I believe they just chew it. I learned when I purchased a plastic

When you fuse plastic grocery bags.
You have to be sure you are in an ventilated area because it has toxic fumes. I did mine outside because I have a plug in on the side of my house. You cannot get anymore ventilated that that. lol. I set my iron on 3 which is a medium setting, no steam and sandwich 1 bag folded twice (you need 8 layers) in between 2 pieces of regular typing/print paper. As I am ironing I just count to 20 or you can use a timer lol and then flip it over and iron the other side and count to 20. When you peal the paper off you will find that the plastic bag is stiff like paper and seems to be very durable. I cannot tear the things and I have tried. To me, it is the perfect liner for a car trash bag or even a bathroom trash bag. If one must use a plastic garbage bag for the kitchen (some garbage companies won't allow anything else but plastic bags) then maybe we can at least eliminate the amount we use.
Our cat loves feathers and plastic bags - sm
she licks the bags though (grocery bags/Wal-mart that type), weirdest thing, she does the same with feathers, like she is grooming it I guess. She loves to lay on paper too, no clue why. I don't get her too many toys as she does not really play with store bought toys, though loves those feather stick things. Have some of those toy mice but they end up disappearing. Likes the kids toy tents, boxes she can jump in, hiding under the coffee table that has a table cloth that completely covers it to the floor, likes to hid under anything and try and snag your ankle with a paw, definitely startles me sometimes. Loves her scratching post which is actual wood, not carpet, the only thing she scratches other than an exercise pad we put over a brick pad in our kitchen for a wood stove (so if the kids ever fell when they were little they would not hit the brick with their head at least), it is thick and squishy and the cat loves to knead it, makes a mess though if she does it too much. Will have to try the bread tie thing, bet she'd love that. She spends hours looking out the front window at the bird feeder and our hummingbird feeder too, and all the squirrels too. You can see the wheels turning when she is watching the birds and squirrels outside. Sleeps at my feet on the bed either in her cat bed if a cold night or just on top of the comforter. I call her a cat-dog as she has many dog characteristics which makes her the perfect cat to me (I am more of a dog person, but like cats too).
OFF spray for cats; also use mothballs in plastic baggie with sm
holes poked in the baggie with a fork. works for me!
I found them! Those funky 1970s plastic decorations
It was driving me absolutely nuts and I finally found out what they are called! Google or do a search on E-Bay for 'Melted plastic popcorn decorations' and see what you find! I'm gonna try and make a bid for one or two because after seeing that one in 'MT of Oz' picture there, I suddenly felt this NEED to have one again!
Thanks for reviving happy memories MT of Oz!!
it is hard plastic, good suggestion, will give it a try, NM

Nope, insurance never covered any of my plastic surgeries but
I still had them- several- just like I would finance this also. This is definitely considered cosmetic unless used for the original eye problem it was intended for.
make sure you use a "metal" lice comb, not a plastic one as they don't work well. nm

They make paint for everything now...from metal to even outdoor plastic furniture...I am sure there

My chiropractor said his plastic surgeon friends are losing their practices.
At least here in C.FL, plastic surgery is tanking!

That's what paper towels are for...
or even toilet paper...I flush with my foot, no way am I touching handle, and never open the door with my bare hands. There was a study once showing that the most common germs on money, shopping cart handles, and restroom door handles was fecal matter!
my mom too used wax paper to bake for 40 yrs

paper or bags
It's paper for me all the way - I love to wrap and make bows, etc. My sister does bags, hates to wrap. To each his own.
Think it would take more than paper to deter a

Paper trails........
Suspicion started a long time ago, wondering where they get the money to support such a lifestyle with such large families. They do have their own businesses but most not enough to support those families and HUGE expensive homes for a lot of them. The investigations into this showed they were very dependent on the government for welfare assistance programs. It is hypocritical isn't it...to cut themselves off from this horrible sinful outside world only to partake in it as they see fit.....our money!!!
Buy more than one paper Thurs. a.m.
It will be worth the price to get extra coupons, especially if you have someone else to go with. Preplan the day/night before. Layer clothing as it may be really cold out usually (where I live anyway) but the stores get hot, crowded and nasty. But it's worth it if you really still need to shop for some special things. I would not want my husband with me as he gets frustrated with crowds and holds me back. Better to bring a friend who will help you shop and likes the excitement of it all. Have fun!!
Hey, anyone into paper mache?
That is something else I have thought would be fun. Anyone into that?
I know it gets a little more complicated (materials and such) than the balloon pinatas made in school, but I'd like to learn.
I've tried a lot of paper and it still has trouble.

The paper towel commercial...
with the kid shaking the soda bottle that explodes all over the kitchen and his mom grabs the hose from the sink and sprays him back. What an example for all the little kids watching TV!
I personally like the Geico cavemen. They crack me up everytime. But I don't think they need a TV show based on them. That's too much.
I use A LOT more than 2 squares of toilet paper. LOL

wrapping paper tubes
I like your daughter's idea.... Call all your friends and ask how many rolls of holiday wrapping paper they've got stashed in a corner of a closet...slide the paper off and you can cut about 4-5 usable tubes outta each one. Depending on the school colors, you may be able to use some of the paper as the outside wrapping. What about reynolds wrap tubes?
you'll get a paper check
if you didn't get and refund and sent them money, the rebate won't be direct deposited, a paper check will be sent.
Ditch the paper towels... sm
Instead of using paper towels/napkins at mealtime, we use linen napkins. If we happen to eat fast food (we usually bring it home), we always keep the extra napkins to use later.
Also, you can use vinegar and water and newspapers to replace Windex/paper towels when doing windows/mirrors/faucets around the house.
my mom would stash paper towels and - sm
toilet paper. When she died I counted 86 rolls of TP and about 30 paper towels, also about 15 boxes each of zip lock bags, quart, gallon, freezer bags. My dad and I divvied it all up between him, me and my two brothers. If it was on sale at the store my mom bought it. Had about 18 pounds of butter in the refrigerator too, as well as cheese, and about 80 packs of Hershey chocolates (they were hidden in a closet). Was a bit OC on the TP and PT though, and every night she would check all the doors to make sure they were locked at least 4 x before she would go to bed. Always made enough food that is for sure. My MIL goes either one way or the other, we never know until we get there though. No snacks so it if is a sparse dinner then we end up going home hungry and stopping on the way to get something, or the kids fill up on the dessert I bring. Stayed home this year though, and my BIL is cooking for them this year, and I cooked for us.
