so adorable. I love cats but my two youngest boys are deathly allergic. We did have one when they were very small and after she died, that was it. It was right after that their coughing stopped and sinuses cleared. Anyway, if it were my kitty, I would forego the tail. Still lots of kitty there to love. And the pain and bleeding would be gone.

Awww!!
I absolutely adore them. I have 2. I have a red dapple and a black and tan and they are the best!! They are so lovable...but be careful, cuz they'll steal your heart away! I could not recommend a better breed of dog, but be sure to get one from a reputable breeder as the Dachshund tends to have a bad back. My Molly (red dapple) had a disk rupture and she became paralyzed February 28th, had surgery 5 days later and we were told she would not walk again. However, Dachshunds are a very strong personality and she is walking and running all over the place now! She still goes to water therapy where she walks on an underwater treadmill 2 times a month. They become just like your children! Mine sit near me while I work and they bark when someone comes to the door. They do have a big bark like a big ole hound dog, but they are so cute and lovable. They love to go on neighborhood walks. They also are destructive when puppies but I think if you give them lots of love and attention, you'll get through it okay! Both of mine were easy, easy to housebreak when I took them out every 2-3 hours (like a newborn) for peepee breaks, and then gave them lots of praise. They really are a bundle of energy and love and I can't say enough about them!! I highly recommend the breed.
awww...
Cats and trees can be a lethal mix for sure!
Sorry about your kitty. I had one who lived to be 20. It was like after she met that milestone, she just went to sleep...
AWWW
They are so cute together! My dog Misty liked it too. My daughter loves cats and was sitting behind me and since she is into martial arts she laughed and said that the honey-colored cat is loving the other one, but is proud that he has him in a semi choke hold because when they both wake up he has the edge! Or, maybe he wants to make sure the white cat doesn't beat him to the food dish.
Awww..sm
Isn't it amazing how many colors appear in 1 litter?
awww
That is just the sweetest thing for you suggest that. Thank you so much! I couldn't take your money though! I am getting over the mad thing and easing into the funny. I should make her go to school like she is so she will never do it again. She said that she wanted to cut her hair like her friend Laci because she loved her..... *sigh*... I will probably just cut the long back off and then just keep styling it for now. My mom always use to cut my hair like a little boy and I hated it. Now my daughter is cutting her own hair like a boy... and with SAFETY SCISSORS none the less. I cant even cut paper with these things!!!!
Awww, give yourself a hug from me.
I cannot imagine what that pain must be like, but my heart goes out to you.
AWWW that's sweet!!!

He is so cute! I love dogs!
Awww I love 'zons! sm
I am down to budgies, but I did have an Indian ringneck parakeet for a long time, 2 in fact. I finally decided that she didn't have the life here that she needed and deserved, so I gave her to someone who has always been crazy about her. She is much happier and well loved. IRNs are not as teachable as an Amazon. They tend to be more calm and live in harmony with furkids. Plus, they are so large that no right-minded cat or dog would dare to challenge them. I know of a couple of 'zons who have put holes in cat's and dog's ears just for living.
You have to know that she is very attached to Birdie. I have a feeling, however, if someone was hurting you she'd do the same thing to them that she did to your jacket.
I am glad you spoil her, she is a lucky bird. So many people go into having a larger parrot and don't understand their habits and needs. This is why so many birds are abused and far too many of them can't recover from it. I'd be willing to bet she is beautifully fully feathered and a deep lime green. If her whole head is yellow, she is a double yellow head. If that is the case, they are known to be the best tempered of all the Amazons (and the most expensive in many places). Thanks for being a good birdie mom, we need more like you!
Riight, it's getting really creepy' Awww.....nm

Glad to hear your cat is doing better! Something that may be helpful - I had a cat who made it to 17 yearsw of age. Three years before he passed, he was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. It was difficult to get him to take the medication by mouth, so my vet suggested getting the med made up at a compounding pharmacy. The med was in the form of a paste that went behind his ear, and that ensured he got the med and we didn't have to hassel every day.

My cat died about 2 months ago. She stopped eating, drank a little bit, just stayed in the closet flat out. I couldn't afford to take her to the vet ($75.00 to euthanize) and I could tell that she wasn't in pain. She purred and let me pat her once in a while, but for the most part she stayed in the closet. She finally crawled to the back of the closet and died, I hope peacefully. I miss her. I want another cat (have had them all my life) but will not get one unless/until I have the money to properly take care of her when necessary. Last July she had several rotten teeth. The vet removed all but 5 of her teeth ($600.00) which I am still paying out. She was about 14-15, so up in years. I feel for you. My gut feeling, though, is to euthanize her before it's a weekend and you can't do anything and she's in pain. You're only prolonging the inevitable, IMO. Take care.
My kitty
Thank you to everyone who helped me through these last couple of weeks with my beautiful cat with bone cancer. We finally put her to sleep yesterday and it was very difficult for us but for her it was very quick and nontraumatic. The hardest part for her was the ride down to the vet's because she hates/hated that part. We then took her to the cremation place and should have her ashes back within a week. I didn't write until now because my heart is still very sad. I still haven't picked up her "things" around the house but will probably try to do that tonight or I may only be able to do a couple of things at a time, but that's okay.
I wrote about our milk prices here and it got me thinking how we probably won't have to buy as much milk now or the whole roasted chickens at Costco we used to buy for her. She would share some with us but it was really Mochi's chicken. She would come running in from outside whenever we cooked chicken too. Plus she would do what we called "praying to the refrigerator God" for something good to eat, she would sit in front of the refrigerator doors and just stare at it or sometimes rub up against it until we opened it up and found something in there for her.
We hadn't been able to let her outside for a month or so so that she could warm herself in the sun, so I think she is very happily sunning herself right now, in no pain.
So sorry about your kitty...
Sounds like you did all you could and provided a wonderful home.
My new kitty-cat's name is - sm
CHARLOTTE! :)
The weekend passed with less hissing & more acceptance by my other cat. I found that feeding them at the same time (one eats on the floor, the other up on the kitchen table) seems to make them relax around each other. Charlotte sleeps in bed with me with her head on my arm, and occasionally communicates with either a little 'silent meow' or else her signature 'quacking' sound. If I say 'quack-quack' to her, she says it back. ;)
Kitty
We have a laser pointer that we play with them with. They go crazy over it.
Also, I have a Roomba vacuum....oh my Lord...worth the money just for the comic relief they provide.
My kitty
I'm so sorry about your baby My cat was 16 years old and I believe she had a stroke. She has been pretty sick getting very skinny and one night she had her head tilted to the side and she couldn't move it. I don't know for sure but I think she suffered a stroke. Unfortuately, I didn't have any say in the matter. She passed away that night in March. It's still so hard for me to talk about. I miss her every day. I'll send prayers to you and your cat that she doesn't suffer and you'll know when it's time I'm sure.
kitty
If you feel that strongly you should go get him. You could take him to a shelter or just keep him. I'm sure you probably could find a home for him yourself if you needed to.
My kitty... see pic hopefully
This is Jory Jack Anthony SkippyJon Jones. :)
kitty uti
Hi - I totally understand your problem. My kitty has had severel UTIs and the doc put her on amoxicillin. It did work for her, but he also prescribed Urinary-SO, which is a special diet to keep the kidneys in good health. It's kind of pricey, but worth it so far. You can't buy it over the counter and have to buy it from your veterinarian. Hope this helps. As all us girls know, UTIs are VERY painful.
kitty ?
Always happy to see a cat lover....the ruler of my house, my 8yo female, occasionally does this. Don't know why. She has always used the litter box since day #1. My little boy is 4y/o and he will do the same thing, may be a copy cat, Boo, Hiss...anyway,I've never figured out why they do this. No pattern, not mad, no fights. Just happens occasionally. If you figure out why, other than just being cats and knowing they can do it, pls let me know.
Kitty and the Computer
My kitty likes to lay at my feet on my pedals. The long hair gets inside and causes them not to work properly. I am on my third pedal in 2+ years. You have to love being able to work from the comfort of your home though . . . with your cat by your side. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Just wish I could fall into a better work-at-home job.
Our little kitty just had to be euthanized....
because of liver and kidney failure. Please make sure if you have pets that you check regarding the recent recall of pet food. I had a couple of cans of Iams for him to try and I think that may have been what happened to him, will never know for sure. He was so sweet, a little orange and white guy, could always make me laugh chasing the laser pointer and flashlight, loved to chase the crawl on the bottom of the news programs on TV. Have to finish my day typing through tears....
I hope your kitty comes out better than ever!
My husband and I spend the moolah that we don't even have on our animals, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
Saw the kitty tonight!
We went to see the cat tonight. She is doing as well as can be expected. Very happy to see us. Apparently, she does not like the tech who is watching her (stranger to her) but started to purr as soon as I scratched behind her ears. Plus I brought her bed. I just hope we brought some comfort to her. It was very hard to leave though. Once again, you all are a great group and your kind words are much appreciated!
My male kitty
when he first came to live with us he was a mere 6 weeks old, and he would drink from the water bowl while "standing" on the edge of the bowl (front paws only) which looked silly but cute too! Then, he rapidly grew and grew and began to tip the water bowl over when doing that, so thankfully he stopped, but now I notice him sliding his paws (slowly) in a digging motion before drinking and can't help but notice how noisey he is when he drinks, he sounds like a dog lapping or a bird taking a bath! Boys!
Congratulations on your new kitty!
She sounds sweet! I swear by a liquid called Ration Plus. I first got it for my equines who had weight problems and gas. It's a prebiotic that works in their hindgut to regulate things...makes food stick to the ribs and helps with things like diarrhea and gas. I also give it to my dogs now and again and even my old senior cat. I put it right on their food and they gobble it right up.
HOWEVER, it does not state anywhere on their website or the label that it is appropriate for cats. I just wrote to them actually, just now, to find out if it was safe for felines. I know I've been feeding it to my cat now for over a year, one or two times a week as a top dressing on his food, and haven't had any problems and he looks great. I will let you know what they say about it.
Fantastic results and a bottle lasts a long, long time.
Here's their company website: http://www.rationplus.com/dog.html but I buy it from pet places because it's usually cheaper that way.
Your kitty is adorable!
I love hearing about everyone's cats and seeing their pics. I have a fully black 11 year old cat named Roscoe who is not too bright, shall we say. LOL. He chases his tail like a dog, and he's the biggest scardey cat around. I had a 16 year old cat that passed away in April and I miss her every day.
Here's the kitty I just adopted!
She's an 8 year old Exotic Shorthair Persian named Charlotte. Her little tongue sticks out all the time, 'cuz her face is so flat & her mouth is so small. She's tiny - and only weighs about 5-1/4 lbs. right now. Needs to gain a pound or two.) She's a total cuddle-bug!
(She just came out to say hi to me - she was annoyed with me earlier because I had to give her a pill. Not easy with that tiny little mouth!) Whenever I'm on the computer, she sits on the back of my chair and "helps".
my sister's kitty
had a stroke, he was a siamese and was 19 years old.. He unfortunately was not suffering; however, could not walk and had other multiple problems, thus she decided to mercifully put him to sleep. It was painful, but comes a time that you just know it is right... hope your kitty gets better....
What a talented kitty. Very

Hmm, I wonder if the talented kitty above

Bless you and your kitty
We lost our 18-yo girl two years ago to renal failure. She didn't meow a lot, but seemed to really enjoy being held more than she ever did when she was younger. Just spend quality time with her; you'll never regret it.
That must be a BIG kitty. Do you have a picture?

What the life this kitty cat has!
Oh and I love your "blanket" on your bed? Can I have that? It looks so luxurious especially this time of night after typing all day! What a life! I want to be a cat in my next life!
This is our cat! This is around the holidays, and my 7-year-old thought she'd jazz her up a bit, but I'm not so sure she is liking it. She does like having pictures taken though!
Hope your cat feels better soon; she is just beautiful! GET WELL SOON AIDA!
Thanks, what a nice kitty!

this kitty has a plastic bag and Q-tip
obsession. He eats plastic bags (I know it's not good for him). No matter how hard I try to keep them away from him, he finds them. It's like he has radar. Luckily we haven't had any clogs in his system from it. As for the Q-tips. He digs those out of the bathroom trash and carries them around (gross I know) and them ultimately drowns them in his water bowl. He's somewhat of a freak too.
Maybe try a different kitty litter
We took in a stray some years ago. We had to get her to use a litter box because we were moving. She hated the litter box, but then we changed from regular kitty litter to Arm & Hammer Super scoop (the kind where the urine and poopies ball up and easy to pick out). The litter is soft and she really loves it (I think maybe also it was soft like the outside dirt she used to go in). As a side note, it smells great and when you walk in the house you cannot tell we have a cat or litter box.
Kitty ringworm?
I need some advice from all the cat experts out there. A week ago a very nice black male kitty adopted us and since he was so mellow and got along with our dog, we decided to keep him. I took him to the vet for the first time last night to get checked out and get shots. The doctor noticed an area between his shoulder blades that was a little flaky and a little fur was starting to come off. She thought it might possibly be ringworm but couldn't tell yet. Honestly, I didn't even notice this (and I've been petting kitty a lot) until she pointed it out, and it really didn't start flaking until we got to the vet. Today in the same area he has a very small patch of hair loss and still has some flaking but I don't see a lesion like ringworm. Could it be that the lesion just hasn't shown up yet? If it is ringworm, what can I use on it without having to go back to the vet? I already spent a lot of money there yesterday and I do want to take care of kitty, but we do have limited funds. Oh yes, and to my surprise, this kitty who has been outdoors for who knows how long is very clean and actually does not have fleas! And yes, we did try to find his owner, but no one has called.
Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!
