My husband, my son, and my brother-in-law went hunting last weekend.  We have two quads and my BIL has his own quad.  They got home very late and all the quads were on my BIL's trailer and no one felt like unlaoding them, so my BIL took them home with him (they have two acres).  I got a call yesterday saying one of our quads was stolen.  I asked where did they have them?  My BIL took them off the trailer and put them right next to a small three-foot fence that butts up to a pretty major side street.  He stored his own in his garage.  In the past my BIL stored his quads on his back porch.  Apparently, the thieves lifted the small lighter one up and over the fence.  The other one was too heavy so they didn’t steal it.  We had insurance on the heavy one, but not the light one.  We paid $1,700 for it new about three months ago.  Right off before we got an apology or anything, my sister said they won't claim it on their homeowners.  They suggested we lie and say it was stolen here at our house and claim it on ours, but my husband and I do not feel comfortable at all with this and will not do it.

My question is what part in all of this does my BIL play for storing it where it could so easily be stolen?  I wouldn’t think anything about it if that is where they stored their own, but they don’t.  They won't use their homeowners so we are out $1,700.  Neither one of them apologized to me or anything until after I had spoken with my mother who then in turn called them and then they called me apologizing.  In other words, my mother told them to call and apologize. 

I can’t make them pay for it.  I know my husband is partially at fault for being too tired to unload them, but I’m just so frustrated regarding where my BIL stored them.  Yes, they have had their vehicle broken into on that side street and have had a trailer stolen from their driveway, so they should know better.  They also have two acres to store them and the other half of their yard is fenced with a five-foot fence.

I guess we are just out the money and the quad.  Unfortunately, we won't be able to replace it anytime soon.

Thanks for your reply! I'm looking to sign on PT with a company on here. I'll just get my computer upgraded and get a foot pedal, head phones, and some books from my clinic job. I'll get started and see where I go. . . By the way, is there a glossary on here someplace where I can look some terms like "Big 4 experience" and "Acute care" or "ELS experience". I just don't hear those terms where I work.

Sorry about that. . .I'm new to this site. I'll take my questions out to the Company Board. I might get some additional advice there.

I posted on scrapbooking one time and didn't get any response.  I love to scrapbook and I am about to finish up one that is a thank you gift for the family that we stayed with last year on vacation in Colorado. 

I am limited in what I can spend on it so I have to depend on a paper cutter, scissors and I love corner punches.  I think I have seen the machine that you are asking about but I really don't know anything about it. 

The question I posted back quite a while ago is concerning scrapbook programs on the computer.  Do you know anything about them?  I think I would like to use one of those programs but I have not found anyone as of yet who is knowledgeable about them. I was trying to research that one day through Google and found this website. You might find the answer to your question on here: twopeasinabucket.com   This is a scrapbooking website and I found it quite interesting although I didn't have a lot of time to spend looking for the answer to my question.  Good luck!

are finding it hard to make their house payment, car payment or credit card payment?

someone made the comment about giving girls a false sense of security and not getting PAPs and physicals because they got the vaccine.  That was something I hadn't thought about previously. 

I was talking about this with a friend of mine and we got on the subject of DES that was given to prevent miscarriages and preterm labor in the 50s and 60s and the side effects that came from it.  I googled DES and the one website has a copy of an old ad that states "recommended for routine prophylaxis in ALL pregnancies" with a picture of a smiling baby above the statement.  We all know how that turned out!

States have made all kinds of vaccines mandatory for admittance to kindergarten, but there are ways around it, such a religious exemption.  I have another friend whose kids have had NONE of their childhood immunizations.  I'm not saying I agree with anything that drastic, but her kids are in school. 

Anyone who has to go on a public board/forum and brag on and boast about ANYTHING- ( about A MAN, no less *L*).....just makes most posters question the credibility of such posters.  Anyone who is truly happy....has no need to type all this on a public forum....nor to hang out on one....

Now really, all the nasty, antagonistic posters, and in this particular thread, should get off their mommy's computers and go outside and play because from my view, it's a spectacularly gorgeous day outside

Frankly, I think the moderator of this board does a very good job considering the many posts on a vast variety of topics, and with numerous personalities posting them. If I or my friend on this board would be doing anything that is unacceptable or inappropriate we would have been told. I am quite sure of that.

Why this person continues to make an issue of our conversations about the beauty of animals and the love we share for them and our animals is totally beyond the reach of what I can understand. Frankly, the last post two days after the first insult is an indication to me that it is ongoing. If anyone needs to be told, it is the one who won't leave us or the matter alone. We have done absolutely nothing wrong and have said absolutely nothing inappropriate. I am tired of the issue. It was ridiculous two days ago. No one is forced to participate in this board or made to continue to read what is supposed to be so boring and meaningless. What is meaningless is this constat back and forth over something that is not her business.

I am looking for a dessert recipe that will hold up in traveling.   I am driving to a graduation party two hours away.  I live in New England and right now it is super hot.  I can put it on ice.  I do not know what to bring.  This person is constantly bringing something to our house when she comes.  A plant, a bottle of wine, a candle etc.  The party is being catered (in their backyard) so I am thinking more on the way of  a dessert. Any suggestions?

In reference to your thoughts about the Ouija board, I just want to share a story.  I had changed my lifestyle, didn't party anymore after being saved.  I happened to go out with friends for a close friend's birthday - drinking.  Went back to a friend's house, and she pulls out a cardboard and starts to make a oiuja board.  I refused to participate.  The 3 of them did, at which time I started praying silently, rebuking anything not of Jesus, etc, etc, etc.  Well, she would try and try to make the thing move and work.  It would not.  She was progressively getting more and more frustrated.  She looks at me and growls, "Are you praying?  You better stop!"  I said no.  Something made me do it, but I put my hand over the little deal that is supposed to move - my goodness, I felt a power under that thing, like a vibration.  You know what it did - it shot off the board away from me.  I did it again and it did the same thing.  Those were the only times the thing moved!  After the other 2 saw that, they said "oh, bleep, I'm not messing with that."  I told them, it's not me, it's God and his power.  Anything not of God has to flee!  So moral of story is, believe what you've heard, that the ouija board invites spirits and worlds that you don't want to mess with! 

By the way, years, years ago before this incident, I was mixed up with drugs and alcohol.  One morning after doing cocaine, I had a paralyzing nightmare too - after that, I too kept having the recurring dream, where I would be paralyzed with fear "in my dream," it was like I was trying to hard to wake myself up and I just couldn't.  Anyway, that first one, when this happened, I never could fall into deep REM sleep - because of the drug - I opened my eyes from that paralyzing nightmare and I really was awake, mind you, and saw a figure that looked like satan that covered the entire doorway.  I guess it was what I imagined what satan would look like subconsciouly - shiny, blackish red raw muscle.  I was paralyzed with fear and could not move.  I believe I really did see it and was not a hallucination.  I was actually awake because I picked up the phone and called my boyfriend and he said, get in the car and come over, and I said I couldn't because I couldn't move.  I always felt it was God's way of allowing this to set me straight - you know, like scared straight.  Because eventually soon afterward, I did change my lifestyle.
