American Idol results- were you satisfied?

Last night was really no big surprise but I think kind of boring. I just did not particularly care for the group but I was glad to see that next week we have more contestants. I don’t care for the way they are picking their 3 each time, not at all. It just seems like ones that are really good do not have a chance this way whereas in years past seems like just anyone could have made it. How do others feel about this, do you like the 3 each winners this year? I heard them also say the judges would make the decision about possibly bringing back some they liked? Well, I guess Norman or Normal or whatever his name was (I"m not leaving guy) probably will just have to pack his bags according to Simon.

American Idol
Melinda is the one to beat this year, hands down, no one is really on the same level, especially after tonight. Lakisha will have to show us next week the power that she definitely has. I like the girl from Georgia, maybe Stephanie, not sure but the other ladies can throw in the towel and go home, oh Jordin is good, forgot about her but other than that, do not hold a candle to your power singers. They THINK they are that good, oh I would love to be on the show with Simon, so agree with him. They are so full of themselves, surprised if someone tells them they really have no talent! I am so disappointed with the guys this year. Have no choice there, miss Clay and Reuben!
American Idol
I love Lakisha's voice - I also like Sabrina.  The guys I'm not sure about, but I think Chris has a good chance.  He seems pretty versatile too.
Did anyone see American Idol?
Any picks for who goes, who stays?
American Idol - What did you think?
Here are my impressions:

Brandon: Poor baby forgot the lyrics. Hello; this is a contest and you aren't the best singer, so ...

Melinda: Excellent as usual, just not a very memorable song.

Chris Sligh: Decided to go with original arrangement, and the judges hated it. I didn't feel strongly either way, which could be a dangerious place to be if America concurs.

Gina: Good song choice, loved her as usual. She has really tough competition though.

Sanjaya: Still here?

Haley: One of her better performances, but ...

Phil Stacey: I thought it was good for him, so hopefully he won't go home just yet since he is not the worst.

Lakisha: Sensational was the word. Fantastic song for her, done superbly. I like this girl. :o}

Blake: Cute, and not bad at all. Let's not send him home yet America.

Stephanie: Surprisingly pitchy for me.

Chris Richardson: Probably not his best genre, but I like him. He shouldn't go yet.

Jordan Sparks: Wowza. Now my sister knew that song she did (from a children's animated movie, apparently), and she wasn't as impressed as I was, but I thought it was great.

American Idol

I, too, am really disappointed in AI this year.  I don't feel like I'm 'addicted' to it this year, and if I missed an episode, it wouldn't be any big deal.  I don't care for Melinda.  I can't really put my finger on what it is, but something about her just irritates me.  Maybe it's her 'aw shucks, really I'm good?' type of personality.  Maybe she really is a sweet, modest person, but she annoys me.  I leave the room most of the time when she comes on stage.

I like Blake a lot too, but I don't think he has much of a chance of winning.  I think the judges' favorites are obvious:  Melinda, Lakeisha, and Jordan.  My faves are Lakeisha, Blake, and Gina.

American Idol
This is the first year I have watched. I miss Chris Sligh--I really liked his audition. I cannot for the life of me understand why Sanjaya is still on. I think Simon just gave up on him wondering why people keep voting him to stay. I felt he should have been the first to go. I like Gina and Jordin and the other young girl Haley (spelling?) I sort of hope Sparks wins. She has a very pleasant voice, seems sweet and she is only 17. She just amazes me.
American Idol
I was so disappointed to see Gina go last night - I wanted Sanjaya to go, of course, but with VOTEFORTHEWORST.COM and Howard Stern - that probably isn't going to happen.  I would rather have seen Phil Stacey go than Gina.  JMO
American Idol

What is going on with Sanjaya?  I think he morphs himself into something so different each week, he may actually win !! (just kidding) but I actually liked him last night!!

I'm tired of Haley with her ultra short skirts and Phil Stacey with his googly eyes.  I really like Blake now.  I just don't know any more with this season's singers.  I guess anything can happen at this point.

American Idol anyone see it?

I thought the young 17 yo boys did a great job, don't remember their names.  One was blond, one was dark haired.  There is some amazing talent out there.  Can't wait to see the girls sing.

American Idol
Anyone enjoying AI as much as I am?  Any predictions on the winner?
American Idol

I know that David Cook has a lot going on personally, but did anyone else think he was totally not with it last night?  He usually does great, but I wasn't all that impressed with him last night.

Also, does anyone have a guess as to who is going home this week?

American Idol anyone?
I think Brooke needs to go home. I'm kinda tired of her little sad face she keeps using. I think she's limited as far as her voice. Last night was a toughie !
American Idol
How about it?  Who is going to win?  David Archeleta was just amazing last night.  I could listen to him over and over.
American Idol
Ok, I'm trying to get fired up about American Idol this year. Last year's was kind of lame.

I hope it's better.
American Idol anyone?
I liked the short-haired blond girl a lot (I think she was third)and Danny who sang last. I also like Enoop!
American Idol, really?

I thought Megan was acting like a 6 year old child last night. Oh, excuse me 6 year olds, did not mean to offend!  I was suprised to see the bird-like movements and bird-like noises as she was told she was bottom 3 and told where to sit for such. As she and Anoop were being told of the outcome, her face was turning in all kinds of contortions and then she said she really did not care. Well apparently that just broke the camel's back with that statement and Simon said if you don't care, we don't care as well. I was told from years back actions such as hers were "cutting off your nose to spite your face", in other words she might have acted like she did not care when basically hard work to even get that far and her actions (childish) might wreck anyone looking at her as a potential singer. Silly girl!

American Idol bumped??
I hear the president will be speaking tonight. OMG, I love American Idol and I, along with others, are probably going to be really, really disappointed if the 2 hours are not on. I so much don’t care to see a state of the union from him.
I just watched American Idol.
Girls:
I'm voting for Melinda Doolittle. I thought she was fabulous. I also liked Gina Glocksen and Sabrina Sloan and Lakisha Jones

I thought Leslie Hunt improved a lot over previous performances, but compared to some others I don't think she has much of a chance. I was not as wowed by either Jordin Sparks or Stephanie Edwards the way I have been before, but I suspect next week will be better. I liked Haley Scaranato's song choice because it's a fun song.

Boys (I saw this by DVR so I didn't get to vote)
Loved Chris Richardson. AJ Tabaldo suprised me with a great performance. Shows the importance of song choice. Chris Sligh was good, and then maybe Nick. I usually like Blake Lewis, but it didn't sound original to me. Sundance finally came back and did a decent job. I thought Phil Stacey did pretty well.

Sanjaya can go home IMO.
American Idol fans.....sm
Did you laugh at Simon's comment/mannerism over Sanjaya last night? I about fell off the sofa laughing.

Best talent last night: Lakeisha & Melinda.

Most improved now they're singing the right kind of songs for their voice: Gina.

Your thoughts?
American idol - going down the drain
This is the most disappointing year this show has had. No nearly as much real talent as in years past and this thing with Sanjaya - he should never have gotten on the show to begin with. I think if he continues on the show - up to the finals, this will be the death of American Idol. I know that we are finding it harder to watch every week, but it is a family thing - so we just sit and bear it. I've read VOTEFORTHEWORST.COM and the comments by Howard Stern. While there may be some truth to what these sites say - I think this was really meant to be a real talent search - that has been ruined by a few people. Obviously, there is more talent that comes from the South than from any other part of the country - and I think that is part of the reason there is not as much real talent on the show this year, as they went to cities for auditions that they had not been to before - but it is showing and I think they are probably losing more viewers every week. We will watch to the end. I think if something was said to the sponsors (commercials) then something could change before the end, but the way it looks now - Sanjaya is going to hold on to the end - let's just hope he doesn't win - it's hard enough losing MT jobs to India - but someone with an Indian ancestory becoming the American Idol - that is just wrong.
American Idol - response
For those of you who are wondering why Sanjaya - the equivalent of MT outsourcing to India - is still on American Idol - go to the website - VOTEFORTHEWORST.COM - read what this website is all about and you will see why he is not even being in the bottom group anymore.  That and the fact that Howard Stern has had it out for American Idol from the beginning and spends a great deal of time on his radio talk show spouting off about the show - negatively.  This is the worst year - lack of talent, lack of improvement, and basically just plain boring.  Except for the tabloid stories about Antonella and her soft-porn pictures on the internet and the racial tension that this caused (due to an Islamic group and regarding Frenchie from an earlier season) this year has been a big disappointment.  I think maybe the judges are tiring of the repetition and other than the 3 top women (LaKeisha, Melinda, and Jordin) there is not much reason to even tune in each week.  It will not surprise me if this is the final season for this show.  I cannot imagine anyone even buying tickets to see the top 10 on tour since Sanjaya is in that group - he has ruined this show and its integrity.
American Idol, Apprentice, etc.--sm
I am tired of the diatribe about all these shows. There should be an *entertainment* board on here where people can discuss these shows without making those of us who could care less about them ill. JMO
American Idol.. is anyone else in tears like me?

I swear.. some of these clips are getting to me, and Josh Groban and those little girls? I'm just a mess.

I guess it doesn't help that I'm sitting here transcribing an autopsy at the same time, which always gets to me anyway.

American Idol - and Kathryn
Has anyone seen Kathryn McPhee's music video?  It is so bad.  I mean really bad.  Maybe she isn't cut out to do videos, but if not - she needs to do something else and stay off of MTV and VH1 - her's is one of the worst videos I have ever seen and I cannot believe that they even put it on the air.  The song is bad, the video is worse.
American Idol...does anyone really like Blake? sm
I would have loved to see the final showdown be between Melinda & Jordin.... but on the other hand Melinda is better off since she is free to get her own recording contract and you know she will.  I think she'll end up being as successfull as Kelly & Carrie... if not more.
American Idol is starting soon and I
am hopeful this year it will exceed what we saw last year. I have been a faithful watcher ever since it first came on several years ago. I am disappointed to hear that perhaps some of the contestants might be able to do other things, such as playing guitar, piano, etc. as part of their act. This started as and should remain a singing contest. I always make sure my getting off time corresponds to the time AI starts. Sooooooooo excited.
This cockatoo should try out for American Idol!
I almost fell out of my chair laughing at this!

http://youtube.com/watch?v=N7IZmRnAo6s
You may not have been watching American Idol, but
this year is so amazing! They have found so far the best talent I think I have seen so early in the show, have not even picked out the top, what 30 or so? I have been so disappointed the last year or 2 and I am really fired up about this time.
Let's talk American Idol
Not giving away who was tossed off tonight but to be considered grown, they were acting like a 6 year old. Oh, sorry 6 year olds, did not mean to insult you! I was not sorry for them, flapping their arms like a big bird, making all the faces when it was down to the bottom 2 and then the statement they made that apparently set that 1 judge off. Well, years ago I was told that is called cutting off your nose to spite your face. What hard work to go thru and then to act like a ninkapoop. I am glad to see they are outta there!!
Anyone have American Idol predictions for
the 2 eliminations tonight? I predict Allison & Lil will be gone... I think poor Matt is barely hanging on too, though I think he's very talented. I love Anoop's beautiful voice too. I'm rapidly tiring of Adam....

And my first choice to be in the lead remains Gokey! :)
About American Idol show the other night
I saw where some places calling it I-dull. I was disppointed about the show myself when I thought the performers announced ahead of time would really be there, now that would have been a really good show, did not know about taping ahead of time (Elvis can be excused!) I for one have seen first hand third world poverty with small children begging on the streets and people hardlly having a hut to live in so I was not caught up in all the hype about making a better world. This is sweeps week for the televison show so probably this was what their aim was rather than just the giving back.
American Idol Auditions - don't usually watch but....

Do they pay these people to come in there and look so bizarre?  Temptress?  Leopard vest guy with the "No sex allowed" song?  The guy with the outfit who had to go get his chest waxed? The guy with the very deep, undiscernable voice?  The glittery girl who kept flipping them off?  Seriously, do you think these people really do these things on their own? Good grief!

American Idol - anyone watch it anymore?
I thought the rocker chick was monotonous and so was Brooke who I previously thought did great last week. I also thought the rocker guy (forget his name) is getting very cocky even though I like him. I think it's time for the Australian bloke to go, even though he's cute, just don't think his voice is that good.
Morning dose of American Idol

I am very pleased with the ones they chose last night. Hey that Titana is really talented but I feel she will have to let go of the theatricals and all that scene making if she wants to get the votes. She has a really good voice. I love Danny (guy who lost his wife) but his friend was so good and yet he did not make. Why not him instead of the raven-haired blue eyed girl (think her name was Joanna (the one who totally messed up every time she got in front of anyone and cried also, think she was recognized by Kara right out of the box and has put out an album??, what's up with that?). I am surprised by the voice of Mr. Swish-Swish, the guy who is all out there and drama queen but excellent voice. He had a singoff and I cannot remember his name. Desai (the first one picked) is my choice for the winner take all this year. I love that Norman or is it Nick make it through. He changes his name like he changes his clothes. Mother of 3, Lil is very good and that big ole oil rig guy, Michael, well he is just a teddy bear and should play good with the audience with his "yes mam" when talking with Kara. He is a southern guy (seems like) through and through. Today is daily dose time. What do you think about last night?

Something similar happened on American Idol
not too long ago in a southern setting a guy walked off the stage and said something to the effect of "take care" or "be careful" and Paula immediately got in a twit, saying to the other judges that was a threat. Good golly, Miss Molly, that was a southern goodby. AI had to come back later and explain this was not a threat to them. I along with family members have always used the terms honey, sugar, sweetie. My grown children as well as my husband are all called honey. I have called other children the same. Unless you are older person trying to put the make on a kid, I would never sweat something like a term of endearment.
Anyone watch American Idol last night and ?

I thought a much better group last night than in the weeks past. Von opened with a bang and Adrianna I thought not only pretty but a pretty good voice. I missed the song with the next to last guy, from Puerto Rico but think he was pretty good and of course the hit of the night probably last of all Lil Rounds. Well, 2 more nights of this but I still don’t like how they are choosing the 3 up front this year, makes for an uninspiring Idol this year, in my opinion.

American Idol talk... So, everyone glad

to see it was Scott that was eliminated?  He seemed like a nice guy, but he was nowhere nearly as talented as the rest of them.  I couldn't believe they even tossed around the idea of 'saving' him!  Also, they went on and on about how great Adam's performance was -- I thought it was subpar compared to his other performances & didn't get that.  I thought Danny did great as always though.  And I'm so glad Megan's gone!  Woot!  ;)

American Idol night! Anyone interested
in commenting/gabbing about the performances as they happen tonight & making predictions?  I love when the competition starts getting tight like this.
American Idol starts tonight! Any fans?
I always love to watch the auditions. They are so funny!
some information on American Idol and why the good singers voted off
I have just read this this morning on a news channel. Not flattering but really says it like it is, apparently. The channel says the really good ones, i.e. Malinda and LaKisha got the boot because they said Malinda looked matronly and LaKisha was heavy-set and had gap-toothed appearance. Even though these were the best, now days in order to be bankable and sellable, talent is not what is the selling point, people want someone like Blake who has the little girls swooning and Jordin who is easy on the eyes. It says if you are female singer, you'd better be sexy. The above was what was printed in the article and I thought this said it all.
I doubt I'll even bother to watch American Idol next week.
Kris is unimpressive and I'm sick of Adam's screaming. I'm so disappointed they sent Danny home! :(

I hope he at least gets a recording contract out of all this.

Did you see in Kris' homecoming, it was mostly little girls? That's what's tilting the results I think. They're more dedicated to two solid hours of voting....
American Idol - Love, love, love Adam!!!
I think he'll make it til the end! At least I hope so!

Anyone really satisfied with their PCP or just the opposite?
I went to get a mammogram done this morning and got a lot of questioning about my last Pap, last breast exam by a physician, etc., etc. I over the years have really gone thru a lot with different physicians both for me and my daughter. I told the tech this morning could not remember the last time a physician had asked about my having a mammogram and I visited the PCP about 3 times in the past year. I also am under the care of a nephrologist, have seen a rheumatologist and the like. I just wondered if anyone else felt like they have the best of care and if some feel like the care they get is somehow lacking.

and wasn't that a bit cruel that Ryan mentioned no one was voted off last year's Give Back show - ouch - that hurt

Great results for me
Five months post op, no period!
Have you gotten results when you've hit him?
Or has he continued his behavior even when he's received a spanking or switching or whatever? Please consider this!

Something's going on with him obviously and he has no clue how to express it. Poor thing!
I definitely will let you know when I start seeing results! I sm
am usually a quitter when it comes to stuff like this b/c I'm so busy with work, home, kids, but I am not giving up this time even if I don't start seeing results in 3 months!
"not seeing results" ?

But you just named some fantastic results already after 1+ weeks -- you feel better, have more energy, and you're motivated.  Those are the results that will get you to your goal weight/size.  But -- and I'm no health/exercise expert here -- IMO how you feel and your health are the more important thing than what size jeans you wear.  How you feel, your energy level, any health conditions that are improved, your self-esteem -- those are what you need to focus on and you're already seeing results in those areas!  Congratulations!!  The weight/size will take time but are worth the wait and are even more fun to enjoy when you FEEL better and you have the sense of accomplishment and pride that you did this for yourself.  (Keep in mind how long it took you to get to your current weight and remember it WILL NOT take that long to lose it again :-)  It took me 36 years and 4 pregnancies to get to my "fat" jeans - but only 6 months to get to my "skinny" jeans)

About 4 years ago I managed to do just what you are doing - walking on a treadmill 30-60 minutes (depending on how I felt and time) 5-7 days a week.  I felt wonderful and so proud of myself for making this change.  Gradually, over a couple months, as I felt better physically and mentally I added some LIGHT weights (hand and ankle weights) and floor exercises -- I never have been and never will be "athletic" or "physically active".  I have never participated in an organized sport and never will and my hobbies are reading and embroidery, my job consists of sitting on my tuckus...

I also read the Adkins diet book.  Like many I also did not want to change my eating habits -- mainly because I didn't feel I needed to all that much.  I don't care much for sweets and, like you, have a house, family and full-time job to keep me busy.  I didn't want to cut out any "treats" I could give myself to keep my sanity :-)  Fortunately, I already pretty much ate an Adkins type diet -- I love protein foods and, as I said, don't care much for sweets anyway (other than Dove chocolates and strawberry licorace) and I could eat salads every day.  Carbs were fairly easy for me to cut down on -- again, I did not take it to an extreme as suggested in the book (which I felt was extreme, anyway).  I didn't change my eating habits much but was just more aware of them and learned some of the things I could/was willing to change that would help.  What amazed me what how GOOD I felt.  For the first time in my life I felt like I had energy, I slept better, and was more awake/alert during the day, and I was so incredibly proud of myself for doing this for myself - what a sense of accomplishment.  It took about 6 months, but I was able to lose approx. 20-25 pounds.

Now for my big warning -- once you lose it you do have to keep working to keep it off!  As I said, this was 4 years ago.  Two years ago I had to take on a 2nd job.  My eating habits went to pot and I had no time for exercise.  I have now gained back 15-20 of those pounds.  The good thing is I know it took me 2 years to gain that weight back but I know I can lose it much faster than that - thank goodness.  I just quit my 2nd job and am SO looking forward to getting back on my treadmill and eating dinner at a reasonable hour instead of at 9 pm before falling straight into bed.  That has got to be the worst habit I adopted!  I can't wait to feel good again and have more energy, better skin and hair, and better health.

Good luck to you and congratulations!
