I have 2 boys and 1 girl...she's about to bankrupt us. And senior year is upon us next school year...oy!
Amen!
I would like to publically thank my son for his 17 years in the military - his sacrafices in Bosnia and Iraq. I pray for ALL of the families who have relatives serving that make this the good old USA!

I, too, have been in similar situation, is actually an ongoing thing. Niece goes from one loser to the next because she gets an SSI check - refuses to listen to anyone and if I say too much, they keep the babies from me. Best to just let it ride, enjoy the little boy and pray for Stacy.
AMEN
I agree. It will be Merry Christmas for me until I die, hopefully not at the hands of Christian persecutors. This world has gone absolutely bonkers - make my sick to think about it. Anyway, Merry Christmas to you and yours and everybody else on this board.

This was exactly what I was trying to get across, but a lot longer and more informative. Thanks for posting this.
I wanted to add that I have known tons of aggressive cocker spaniels. One even attacked my friend's golden when they were walking the other day down the street. They have a lot of pent up energy and they just go nutso some times.
My point was that it can always be any breed and that the media has made people believe Pits are dangerous.

Love that song skeeter davis sang. Also Waylon Jennings "Women do know how to carry on" (don't spend too much crying time alone).

to that! I went to therapy for a while and was trying to work on my self-esteem. My therapist said that he was the one with self-esteem issues in that he needed someone to constantly be boosting his ego. She hit that one right on the head!
Amen to that!
I know what you mean. 20+ years. Feel like I can't stand it any more. At least I know I have a kindred spirit.

My husband would prefer to lie to them but I refuse. The schools have all sorts of "informational" programs out there but, as in the case of my kids, the kids don't care about someone telling them not to do it if they have never done it themselves.
An honest personal experience and description of the consequences is what the kids need and want. THAT will prevent a lot of the trouble out there.
I let my kids know I am not proud of my past but I want to prevent them from having some of the bad experiences I had because of my own stupidity and lack of information.

My husband cannot stand him. He said he is too emo and weird looking. I think his screaming is very annoying too.

I remember from the age of 20 to 25 being single, living alone and envying my married friends because they had someone at home who cared if they made it home or not. I didn't. Now that I am married and have that now, I sometimes envy my single friends because they get to go wherever or whenever, they go to fancy resturants (can't do that with 2 young kids), they get to go to movies that aren't G-rated lol, Yes, I could get pay a babysitter but my kids are still young and they want time with their mama. They have had to go to a babysitter since they were babies when I worked. I know I will miss this too. they won't be littel forever, they will grow up and have to focus on themselves and not have as much time for mama then I will be wanting them back home with me. I do think I waste way too much time dwelling on things I don't have and not see the wonderful I do have.

AMEN SISTER!!!!
You would think that she cured AIDS by the way people are talking about her. I'm tired of it already. If she was not a celebrity, nobody would give a crap. I never wished bad upon her, but in my estimation, this is no great loss to humanity. I think we will all survive.
Amen to that! It sure is a different world now. nm

Amen! (No pun intended.) sm
There are bad people who believe in god and there are good people that believe in god. There are also good people who don't believe in god and bad people who don't believe in god. Belief or nonbelief is not the dividing factor in determining whether a person is good or not. How people conduct themselves with their own free will is the determining factor.
Amen girl!
We are NOT all hillbillies, either!
amen, girl!
I'm in Fort Worth - where are you??

AMEN TO THAT! I SO AGREE...
Similar to "I love mankind, it's people I can't stand." For me: I worship the SUpreme Being, it's Religion and RELIGIOUS PEOPLE I can't stand."
Amen! I too have a great one! They are out there...
mine is one of 4 boys who are all great husbands and fathers, have a wonderful work ethic, respect women and are decent, moral men. Please don't lump all men together. JMHO, but a lot of women need to look at themselves as to why they seem to gravitate to the wrong men. We are not all princesses who have no faults; we aren't the perfect mates either at times. Take a look at yourselves and see where you may be able to improve also. There are a lot of lousy women out there too!
Amen to that (LOL)--- I feel exactly the same way- sm
my dad has re-discovered religion again after 50 years....as do most older people is seems, guess it is fear of death and afterlife, etc., who knows. He is very preachy now and it drives me nuts. He finally stopped asking me to go to church with he and his new wife when I visit, he finally got the message after the 50th NO and being told to stop asking as I would never go. I know it kills my in-laws that we did not have our kids christened. We did not want to do it basically, to hypocritical to me to do something I don't have strong beliefs about. My in-laws are Catholic, my DH does not practice it, considers himself Methodist. I was raised methodist but we stopped going to church when I was 4, vaguely remember Sunday school but that is it. My kids know the fundamentals and can decide later in life if they want to learn more. You are on the right tract though!
I'll second that Amen! - sm
Simply throwing money at failing companies is not going to work. They failed for 2 reasons: Bad management, and people who can no longer afford to buy their products anyway.
Creating more jobs can be done easily by stemming the flow of US jobs to foreign countries.
Amen to that....Exactly what I was thinking!!!!
And anyone who's ever done MT'ing for pediatrics knows odds are these 8 babies are going to have a plethora of medical problems.
The human body is not intended to produce LITTERS. And it especially grates on my last nerve when I hear the mother/father saying the babies are a 'gift from God.' No, they are NOT a gift from *God*, they are genetically engineered by science and made possible by the medical community.
I remember that last couple (McGaughey or something like that), and all the freebies they received and volunteers from the community. The mother came off to me as completely ungrateful and I remember her complaining about how stressful it was having "all of these strangers showing up wanting to help." When Dateline or 20/20 did a followup story a year or two later, the house was a disaster with sharp objects easily reachable by the toddlers, etc., and the public wasn't particularly happy with the lack of safety precautions.
People are not meant to have litters, physically or emotionally.
Especially when the taxpayers get to foot the bill to put food on THEIR tables when we currently struggle to put food on the table for our OWN family.
AMEN! We had old cars that we put sm
in their names (they didn't drive them, they had their own cars) so that they could have an insurance policiy in their names. If we had put them on our insurance policy we wouldn't be able to afford insurance to this day because of the driving record! I laugh because the youngest is a firefighter now and drives the truck all the time! I guess all that "fast driving" prepared him for something! haha
Amen, Sister!!

AMEN. I agree 100%. Shocking ads.

AMEN!!!..................great post.....
Hooray and AMEN! You did the right thing!
No doubt, this bratty child treats her parents the same way. Now that I'm older, having endured criticism from many of my fellow parents for being so strict with my children AND with theirs, it's payback time. My college age children are self-disciplined, polite, and are getting and holding jobs. The friends who were such brats when they were little have grown into useless people who won't work and live at home years after spending 4+ years at expensive "good" colleges that their parents bragged about. One of the neighbor "kids" was outside yelling at his parents about how they should get him a new car, because he thinks the Lexus his parents bought him isn't good enough for him. He's 24!
You did the right thing!
amen! good post.
I agree -- you wrote what the Bible teaches -- and i too am sure it is more than we can imagine or understand now. Why the OP would be so interested in opinions rather than the truth is rather curious to me....
