Oh, forgot to mention....
there was absolutely no need for prepainting, Kiltz or anything. The job turned out really good and neither 1 professional. All you have to do is buy white indoor paint or whatever color you want.

if you go to rembrandt's website, you can view Griffin House video of *Waterfall*, plus hear some others of his music. In case anyone else wants to hear what I am so excited about. he he.

that we did this for less than two weeks and they started to turn black and fall off.  You need to make sure that you tape it on there really good so that the acid can work its magic with the tape keeping the air from the area.

Black Beauty.  I was an absolute nut for horses when I was a young girl.

it was suggested to me throughout this process that the cat could have a urinary tract infection. I guess it is common that they will use the litter box and other places if this is the case. You can buy litter that changes colors to see if there is an infection. It's very difficult to get a sample from them. I found the litter at Wal-Mart.

I used to have sugar and lots of it in my coffee, and I just couldn't stand the taste of the sweeteners but I gave it a try anyway. One day at the Dunkin Donuts I switched and asked for Equal in my coffee and now I don't use sugar at all. I even tried Splenda but didn't lose any weight for about two months and I was getting sugar lows. I switched back from Splenda to Equal and dropped seven pounds that week after not dropping anything for two months.

that he quit having his paycheck direct deposited into our joint account, and I had just sent a house payment, so now there's nothing left there. "His lawyer" (He also lied to me about hiring one.) supposedly told him he should be paying child support. That, to me means putting money in that account, even if he's not using it. It's in both of our names, so shouldn't we both be able to use it for stuff for the kids, if nothing else?

Tonight, his mom kept telling us it wasn't fair that he should have to come here to see the kids. She kept talking about how I "wasn't being fair" to him. Well, was it fair that I had to leave my home and my life because I couldn't stand to be treated that way anymore. I talked to a pastor about it even, who asked me why I didn't respect myself more (before we left) I told her the alternative sucked, too.

I don't really know what resources are available, but I am in counseling, so that has helped a lot.

When you live in a remote location, sometimes what they call off-grid living is actually cheaper.

Composting toilets can replace septic tanks, though not necessarily cheaper, just without hooking up to water supplies or requiring re-digging the hole in 10-20 years when the original septic reaches the end of its lifespan.

Solar water heater.

Solar or wind powered well pump.

Solar electricity for household power.

Propane tank and propane powered appliances.

Just some ideas for you.

http://www.lehmans.com/ is an awesome source for off-grid living (like the Amish)
Hayseed you forgot to mention
that if you were Pres you would do away with outsourcing MT jobs and increase our salaries and bennies and ensure that we all got mandatory 4 weeks paid vacation every year!  I know you were thinking it, you  just overlooked!   Hayseed for President!
I forgot to mention 2 other things
A screaming child cannot hear you if you whisper, so if you speak so softly they have to turn down their own volume to hear you, you get rewarded with some quiet. You can also tell them you can't hear them unless they speak quietly as well. When my GD is watching TV, talking over it and my headphones are in my ears, I about go nuts! I have started telling her lately that I need her to be quiet when my 'ears' are in so I can 'hear the voices in my head' LOL!

The other thing is talking about trust. "I want pancakes now!" and your response is "I'm in the middle of doing such and such...I can make pancakes for you tomorrow morning. Will you trust me to do that for you then?" Explain that trust means believing you will keep your word. That also works both ways. If you want good behavior on a shopping trip, talk about needing to trust him to behave on the trip and if he does, reward that trust.

I know that there is no one way to raise a child and you just have to do the best you can. Sounds like you have your plate full...I can SO relate to having to try different things. My little one has an oppositional defiant personality (sounds a bit like your 3 yo!) so it really does take trial and error to find a good balance. Best of luck to you. :)

turning the water off (if this doesn't work and you have to take the pipe loose) add some water in the sink so the plunger builds up some movement with the water and may break loose whatever is hung up in the sink.
I forgot to mention what the first study was about.
They had people wear clean white t-shirts for a day and then had people of the opposite gender sniff the shirts. They had to choose the shirts that smelled good. Then ALL the people got together and mingled. The result of the study indicated that people wound up singling out the owners of the shirts they found attractive.
Forgot to mention I was waiting to see Michael Flatley and SM
after I picked the pan up he came on!  That dance almost made the carpet deal with it!
oops, forgot to mention a couple of things

It doesn't really make sense to call yourself a Christian if you deny what Christ himself said.  H*ll does exist.

Also, if you really are asking what I mean to be saved, I will share.  I does not mean adhering to a dogma.  It means having recognized your own sinful nature and accepted Christ's death on the cross as having paid the price for your sin.  That is what we mean when we say Christ died for us.  We can live forever in paradise with him because God sacrificed his son, Jesus, on the cross, to take the place for each individual person so that they can live forever.   Christ died so that I may live.  Christ rose again and won victory over death.

Being saved is accomplished through faith in Christ.

Oh, forgot to mention saw hubby on Comedy Central 1 night with
of all persons, Andy Kaufman. People might remember him from Taxi and 1 time he decided he would go into wresting and surprised to see him and my husband in a match on the Comedy channel! Andy also decided to wrestle with women for awhile before his demise in his early life.
sorry. forgot to mention Linda Chavez is in refernce to threads about high food prices.

You have to live in the district
You cannot pick a public school. When we switched to public we had to show proof of address. When we lived on base I felt the same way. I sent my kids to private. The public school where we live now is great
Again, I transferred in California to a different district...
and it did not cost anything. I just had to catch the bus at an existing stop for the school I transferred to, which was actually 76 miles from my house, but the bus stop was only 11.
Milford Plaza is in the theater district,
great location, and one of the cheaper (for NYC) nicer hotels but the rooms are tiny. It's tough to find a decent inexpensive place to stay in NY. I once went to Comfort Inn on the upper west side for 160+ a night and it was a total dump! Good luck and have fun!
Where is this school district. My daughter the teacher has

I hope you get better results from your school district
Good luck with your situation. Why some people are allowed to teach is beyond me. My best friend's son is what they call an "inclusion" child in his classroom. His aide who he works with every day was accused and it was "found" that she grabbed him by the arm and twisted it after he raised his hand to tell he had had just lost a tooth, and she's still teaching there in the same classroom. Nothing at all was done and she took it all the way to the school board. All they told her was she was dealt with appropriately.
School district issues -- this is long

A couple of years ago, we got a new superintendent for our school district.  He apparently was dismissed from his previous job due to conflicts (he's rumored to have gotten 2 teachers pregnant in his previous school district).  He's made a lot of changes to our school district that I don't agree with.  I must admit that I am resistant to change; I kind of feel like "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

He started out by saying we needed to reduce expenses.  First, he made children go to the school closest to their home/babysitter.  I was okay with this.  I agreed with this, unless the parents were willing to transport their kids to the school they wanted their children at.  Secondly, he changed the bussing schedule, making all kids K-12 ride together, thereby starting the elementary schools an hour earlier (from 9 to 8 a.m. start time).  My kindergartener has to get up 6:00 a.m. to be on the bus by 7:00 for a 45-minute bus ride.  I can't tell you the language my kids have learned.  My second grader came home the first week of this new schedule and asked me what a virgin was.  While implementing this, he then went on to purchase $10,000 worth of mahogany office furniture for himself.

We are also doing renovations on our high school.  Ours is a junior/senior high school (grades 7 through 12).  They are now making it punishable if 7-8 graders cross over to the 9-12 graders side.  Okay, so why do you not want 7-8 graders mixing with the 9-12 graders, but yet it's okay to put them on all the same bus together with the elementary kids?  It doesn't make sense.

Now, we're hearing that we don't have enough teachers at the 1 school for the upcoming 5th or 6th grade class, so they're going to bus our kids to the other elementary school in our district to accommodate this.  This will cause some parents to have 2 elementary kids in different schools.  It also goes against the first change he made (see above).

We've also been told by some of the school district employees that the schedule for next year has one scheduled 2-hour delay per month to give the teachers extra planning time.  It also has the kids off every Friday in May, and they're going a week later in the summer to make it up.  Additionally, our kids are now being given 2 weeks for Christmas vacation and 1 full week for Easter/spring break, and the makeup is being tacked to the end of the year.  I should mention that we are in the NE part of the country, but we do have some warm days in June and not all classrooms have air conditioners (only the rooms where the teacher supplied it).

Okay, so my question is how do I voice my opinion about some of these issues that I don't agree with.  It seems the last part about the scheduling was done behind closed doors.  I know of others in the community who voiced their opinions at the school board meetings, but to no avail.  Is there an advocate who can help to mediate some of these issues.  My biggest issue has been the bussing of all kids together and starting the elementary kids so early.  My K'er says he falls asleep in class some days, and he goes to bed at 8:00, and now I've started to drive them to school so they don't have to get up until 7:00, which is still a little early but definitely better.  Before this guy came on, the elementary schools started at 9:00 and they didn't have to get up until 8:00, which was easily managable.

I'm guessing I'm probably in the dark ages on some of these issues.  I'm sure there are schools everywhere that get a week off for Spring Break and 2 weeks off for Christmas and every Friday off in May and a 2-hour delay per month, but how do working parents deal with this?  I'm thankful that this isn't an issue for me, but it does cut into the kids' summer vacation.

In my school district they have a "schools of choice" program.
The kicker?? Your school has to participate. Our new Supe took it upon himself to unilaterally disembowel the "schools of choice" program. Our school district is not as bad as Detroit, but I think it is getting there.

He stated "the only way anybody is going to get out of my school district is to move." And of course with the housing market the way it is, who can afford to move?

We cannot afford to send our son to a private school either. And even if we did participate with Schools of Choice, you are responsible for your own ransportation.

So, the only other choice is a charter school, but then you have the same problem - you must provide your own transportation.

PS I live on the west side of Michigan.
For an hour after OP, it was no where.

If you think that one little hour or less of planning
These teachers don't get anything done on their planning period, because they're too busy calling parents who won't respond, trying to actually FIND a parent, talking to a student who is obviously having problems at home which is affecting their performance at school. They don't get paid to be a mentor, surrogate mom, social worker, assistance program, etc., but most good teachers do this becaue they genuinely care for their kids. That "planning period" is a joke!
8 Hour Sleep - sorry

I was out before 8:30 and spent about an hour
shopping- I do not like to shop at all and mostly this morning bought things for me, like some flannel PJs and some sweaters at the outlet store. The crowd not bad at all- only 1 ahead of me in the checkout. I shop over the net quite a bit but had received flyer and things I wanted I got.
AI was just an hour long
It may have run over by a couple of minutes or so.

$28 an hour, where do we all sign up? NM
.
yep for up to an hour they can still bite you- sm
there was a story on TV a few months back about some guy in the middle of no where, staying at a remote cabin for a week (was getting picked up at pre-arranged date a week after his drop off there), on day 3 or 4 killed a snake by the house by cutting off its head, and then for some foolish reason decided to pick up the head which is when he got bit. By some miracle he did not die, came darn close though, if his ride hadn't come he would have died though.
p.s. it should be a 12-hour fasting
blood test, and then done with the glucola stuff you drink...and checked more than one time. Also, things such as steroids can raise your BS readings. I would just about put money on the fact you are probably seeing a PA...but either way, read up on these things, webmd.com or American Diabetes Association... get informed. Everyone needs to be more proactive on their health.
We have a 48 hour turn on our Paps

You are kidding about paying $2 more an hour??
I find most Americans, regardless of their race, creed, religion, etc., etc. wanting to work. I have never had to worry if I hire the Mexicans here in town to work, show them what and your job is done. I have a lady who cleans (black) and I usually have to make a list and even then she wants to sit down most of the time. Have used all but found get my work done with south of the border folks.
20 miles is not far, 1/2 hour drive
if you can stay in his town, for now, and if it's better for the kids, and your first grader is comfortable with people working with him, and it's cheaper, maybe you can go visit your family regularly. A half hour is not far; people drive farther than that one way to work day.

also, it sounds like you agree there was nothing ever in common, it's okay, at least he is caring, and you can remain friends, and he is a good father. It's okay; you'll probably be happier in your own place.
It's a tradition with us! Only have a 1/2-hour ride. nm

I am in Lancaster about an hour from you. I just was down to the new Harrahs you have down there to
watch the sulky races.  I have only seen them once in my life and it was pretty nice watching that.  I am not much for slots but I like to watch the horses and I bet a whole $2 on them.  Not much but more fun to watch when you have a favorite picked out.  I never win anything but it is an inexpensive way to spend the afternoon every now and then.  I have only been there once.
nothing-it was an hour of past scenes of

like eric and jessica.......borrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnngggggggg.  I watched the feeds last night on Showtime 2 and across the screen it said that earlier in the evening, the Jury house sat with Daniele and ED and asked all kinds of questions and then went into deliberation until tomorrow night....but from the feeds, you wouldn't have known that this occurred - Daniele/ED must have been instructed to not discuss that on the feeds...and they did discuss some of the things that they were not to discuss over the summer last night on the feeds.

New Smyrna is nice but it's an hour or so away
We have friends who live in Orlando and New Smyrna is their preferred beach. It's a bit of a drive; we used to drive up and get a room for the night so we could spend the whole day and not have to drive back.
Gain an hour of work.. for me and DH
Both work nights :)
Nope. That's more than an hour's work
if you ask me. And the services won't touch dishes. The one I had broke more stuff than they cleaned properly, so good luck.
And what I do is add a can of Cream of Chicken about an hour before sm
serving to give you a good, thick gravy - it combines the juices of the turkey plus the good taste of the soup. No one can ever tell how I got the gravy so thick and tasty (over home-made mashed potatoes) but the trick is that instead of flour or corn starch!
he wants your attention; take an hour and play with him

a 4-hour visit? i don't think i could tolerate something like that

Too much - how bout once every half hour or so
Drives me insane, although things have gotten so bad here were we live (crime wise) and peoples home are being broken into while they sleep so I sleep at night and he sleeps in the day/afternoon. But when he is awake he comes out of his room every half hour or so to tell me the latest in news/events. It drives me absolutely crazy.
But it's better than it used to be. However, I do love my time when he's sleeping.
I had a 30-hour gallbladder attack, and
it was rough. I'd just been diagnosed with stones and then had the attack. I had to wait a few days before my scheduled surgery.

My surgeon told me his story. His abdominal pain started and 3 hours later, he was checked and his GB was already gangrenous. What if yours is?
I live about an hour off the Gulf....sm
in south Mississippi. That is pretty funny but some of it is true.
Exercise really helps. At least an hour a day. Gets those

should be worth that. Besides as Dr. Phil says, the best thing you can do for your children is take care of their mother- get healthy. Just saying. No critizing.
