is antibiotics, people included. We have lots of Copperhead here though they seem to keep to themselves for the most part, have only seen 3 in our yard in 10 years, but I know they are out there. But their poison is not poisonous enough to require antivenin luckily. It basically does nothing to dogs neurologic wise (neighbors dog has been bit by copperheads numerous times, dog is fine, only treated with antibiotics), though it can cause neuro problems in people, it cetainly won't kill you, not like your rattlesnakes there. Used to watch that show Venom ER, nasty around there, you really have to be on your toes in that area. I have almost stepped on 2 copperhead just while walking on our road, since they like to come out and lie on the rocks of the gravel road we live on, I never look down at the road while walking.....not good. I can spot the black snakes a ways off as they obviously stand out, see lots of them, just go around them and they usually sliter off when they hear someone coming close, the copperhead don't unfortunately, stand their ground, so have to be careful when walking, luckily it is getting colder now though so they should be going into burrows for the winter.

What about red ant bites?
You might want to see what those look like. I don't know. I know it seems like he would have felt himself being bitten, but sometimes you don't when you're exerting yourself and can't stop to think about pain.
Aww, this one only hurts me when he bites me.
And he only does that when he gets really, really sassy... either he thinks my hand is prey, or worse yet, a girl gecko, and reptile foreplay involves teeth....
I do have 4 others, same species. One of the girls has been known to take a snap at me (she'll snap at anything that moves, my mighty little predator) but she has never actually clamped down on me because as soon as she gets my finger in her lil' jaws, she realizes I am not food and she lets go. Mr. Bonehead, on the other hand, is so stupid he'll hang on long enough for me to go get the camera and shoot several pictures of him hanging off my finger.... Eventually he figures out that I am neither food nor girlfriend material, and he lets go, especially if I start spraying him in the face with the misting bottle.... (At which time he just looks at me as if to say, what are you doing, I'm trying to get lucky and you're spraying my face!)
I have gotten to where I know his body language well enough that I know when he might have mischief or mayhem in mind, and I watch him carefully. He hasn't taken a chunk out of me in quite a while now. :)
Soft high-quality black & red licorice bites.
Oh my gosh I found this kind that the store Target sells that are made in Australia, and they are just the best pieces of confection I have ever put in my pie hole.
