i buy time once a year/tracfone
and it averages out to $8/month. I wanted a phone for emergency mainly too. Initial phone cost was about $20. The big plus to me besides cost is that they feed off ALL cell phone towers, not just their own as other companies do. works good enough for me, and being pretty rural, its really my only option of value.
Have worked since age 13, most jobs ever was 4 at 1 time
I posted asking about taking social security early, not retiring because it is just not what I want to do. It is not that I cannot afford but like you, just want to continue on. I will reach total retirement age in 2009 but then I want my money from work, the money from social security and then I have a retirement from a hospital where I was vested of over $500 a month- I hope to be able to get all that. It would double the amount I bring in per month now because, get this, I finally got down to part-time (32 hours per week), only 1 job but totally addicted. It is so easy now, being at home, doing the same work I have done for 17 years, easy, easy!
I worked for them for a short time and line counts never added up. sm
Check the archives. I proved I was cheated lines and quit without notice. They were taking my spaces, cutting them in half and only paying that amount of lines even though required to double space after periods, etc. Software was comparable to Ext. This was 2-3 years ago though.
I agree with you, but I worked really hard to come up with the $1,700 and our family had so much fun
My kids are young teens and it was a family affair that everyone loved and we would for hours and hours together. No, it isn't anything compared to losing my home and thank goodness, but it hurts me to no end that a theif got away with it and so will my sister and BIL. There's no way they will pay unless I take them to court, and I just can't do that.
Totally agree, get these from time to time since teens...sm
It's a neuro condition, it does not mean there is anything at all wrong with you, it is actually related to narcolepsy, hypnagogic (sp? I just got up!) hallucinations, etc. And I HATE when I get these, it is always freaky, my siblings get this too, at times. I can "go away" for years and years before you get another episodes, so don't worry! I heard that when you are under a lot of stress or are very busy with things that this happens more??? Take care!!
I agree. And at the time this happened, it was
already dark, and the zoo was unlighted. I have the feeling they sort of held back to mess around with the tiger after most of the other visitors at the zoo had left. The zoo now plans to install surveillance cameras. In this day and age, I'm surprised they didn't already have them to protect the animals from theft, harm, etc. during the night. There are lots of creepy people out there.
I agree with this. It can take time to find the right meds,
and you are being very affected by his difficulties, so I think you should go together. Men are very resistant to opening up, but you have a child, so that may help motivate you to try to see him through this. I know you have endured it for a long time, but he is going to need help to come out of this. See if Christian marriage counseling is available; you could actually see somebody alone to get support and insights into helping him in addition to going with him to see his therapist.
I'll pray you have the strength to endure and continue to be his soft place to land as he learns to stand up and manage his life like the household leader God wants him to be.
Who wants to be leaking stool all the time?!! Gag!!! Agree with
s
I agree...not selfish at all..we have all felt like that at one time or another..
although some of us probably don't want to admit that...glad she vented to us and not her mother...
I agree, best ever this time...was so sad to see Rose go home though nm

I had a Tracfone too, but I never use it..sm
barely even use the house land line phone, but it is nice to have one, just in case. However, aside from having to buy extra minutes every two months just to keep your phone number, which I never did and had a gazillion phone numbers, you DO lose your minutes when you lose your phone number. I need a plan where you don't HAVE to buy minutes every two months and you can keep what minutes you do have, and you don't lose your phone number. I don't think that there is a plan like that out there, but there should be. jmo
just got a tracfone -
We just got a tracfone right before Thanksgiving after looking at online reviews for it. We ordered it from the tracfone website and they were running a promotion and we got a free reconditioned very nice Motorola phone when we purchased a year plan and got extra minutes with it.It came in 3 business days. I don't want to think about minutes for an emergency phone more than once a year. So far, so good.
I also use a Tracfone, but...
my daughter got a Go Phone from Singulair, which is similar to Tracfone, and my son got a plan with Immex, I think, which is $60.00 a month. He is away at school, so he uses more minutes than I do on my my Tracfone. I always have units left at the end of the 2 or 3 months or whatever it is. If we lived somewhere we got service, I think we would have some kind of plan, but at this point we live in a giant black hole. If I stand in the right spot in my yard, I can get enough signal to send a text message, other than that, forget it.
tracfone
in my research, fits the needs of an infrequent user the best. Costs me about $8 a month for service (w/1-year card), minutes always carry over with active service, they have a 99% footprint of service in the country... my only complaint is talking to what seems like an ESL every time i call company, oh, and the initial coding-in of endless numbers when getting service initiated. But well worth the cost. (even in a dead service area where i live, i can still text message).

That's why I have a Tracfone
I have heard of cell phone bills that high and higher. I can't imagine paying that much for a phone. My daughter's friend wracked up a $625 phone bill one month from texting and her parents just paid the bill no questions asked.
I have a tracfone - sm
the minutes do not expire per se. Your service plan does though. I buy mine one year at a time, $99 for a year of service, then you buy minutes. Granted I buy a service plan and minutes together, and have the double minutes for life plan too. You can rollover minutes when your renew your service. You can get service either every two months or yearly I believe. I can text with my phone which is one of the Motorola flip phones. I used to have an old dinosaur Nokia but upgaded to a new phone for $10 or so at the Dollar store, phones are a lot cheaper there. If he is a yakker then it will get expensive fast, texting is a bit cheaper but he gets into the habit of doing that all the time his "units" will disappear fast. It is a good phone to have for the occasional call, etc. I would not use it as an everyday general use phone though. My old model phone actually worked better and got a signal just about everywhere, my new one is good but does not work everywhere my old one did, but I like it much better as it is smaller and lighter.
I personally like TracFone
I just bought a new one at Dollar General a few weeks ago after not having a cell for a few years. It was only $20 for this cute little Nokia with a built-in flashlight, and when I activated it online and registered with an email, I got 80 minutes free. I had a phone number in 10 minutes. You never lose your minutes but you do need to buy new minutes at least every 2 months to keep your phone number, which works out to $10/month. I've had TracFones on and off throughout the years and I've always had a good experience.
Yep, LOVE my Tracfone!
I have a Tracfone too, that's why I asked. :)

I use a TracFone. I pay only for the minutes I use. sm
I have a landline and DSL that costs me $70 a month. I need the landline for my computer. I am not too trusting of the Skype, Vonage, etc. You lose your power, you lose your phone.
That said, I use TracFone. It is probably one of the first ones made as I can't take pics, or 2-way, or do any of the fancy stuff. However, I have never had it let me down by not having any coverage and the calls are always clear as a bell. I would get another cell plan with more bells and whistles, but I just can't see being tied to a 2 year contract with hefty penalties for early termination.
TracFone also has some awesome deals on minutes, phones with lots of features, etc. The nice thing about a TracFone is that if you run out of minutes, you don't lose your phone number. And they also have coupon codes you can use to get extra minutes, or an extra phone, etc.
www.tracfone.com
I also use Tracfone as an emergency cell. sm
I use about 120 minutes every 3 months, average $10 a month. Occasionally out of my area I have to use double minutes, but I find it to be a great and uncomplicated service for my use. Have had it for a year. My DH also has one. He uses 400 minutes a month ($100), but he talks to everyone constantly. His choice.
My tracfone does have texting capabilities
my daughter figured that one out all by herself. LOL. We've been thinking about getting her one for a long time, but our problem is she'll have the minutes gone within weeks and then she'll have no phone. I guess she'll have to learn the hard way if that happens.
I have a Tracfone and don't like wasting my minutes....
I have one of the original TracFones and my fingers are too fat to text. The keys are too close together, so I don't bother with texting. LOL.
That would be why I would need a full keyboard if I were to ever get a lap top. LOL.
I use Tracfone but have heard of cell phone - sm
bills being quite high due to texting. If your plan does not cover that, and your kid or whoever has the third phone on your plan is texting up a storm, you are being charged for each and ever text he/she sends, who knows maybe on the received texts too, call your provider and ask why it is so high, then either find out if you can cancel the texting ability or take the phone away from the guilty party. ---make them pay for the overage too.
I have a TracFone. And I LOVE it. It is the original Nokia, but..sm
I can text on it. Texting uses up your minutes. However, when you run out of minutes, you don't lose your number anymore. I think there have been many changes to TracFone plans in recent years. As long as you refill your minutes before they expire, you should be good to go. If you buy more minutes before your old ones are up, they accummulate. I usually buy a 120+ minute card and sometimes, depending on the "codes" that you have, you sometimes can get bonus minutes etc. So if I have 10 minutes left on my phone and I buy another 120 minute card, when I am done activating it I will have 130 minutes on my phone. And if I have a "code" then I will have the minutes from that also.
I would not hesitate to get another TracFone. They have some really cheap, reconditioned ones too.
What an awesome post! I agree, agree, agree completely with you.
You are right on the money in my book!
No! That sounds too desperate. TIME. Just give it TIME. If it is real, then sm
something will definitely evolve. If you like him, flirt back! Don't act desperate because if he DOES like you, then the suspense will just make him want to get to know you more. Trust me on this.
I worked in the medical records department of a hospital when I was single and dated a few co-workers in my early 30s. It was fun. Nothing serious came about any of the relationships.
This sounds like fun - the beginning of maybe something to come....Keep us informed.
5-HTP worked much better for me.

It worked!
I'm not as dumb as I look.
It worked!
nm
Here is what I did and it worked.
When accidents occurred indoors, I never scolded unless I saw the crime. I would take the paper towel that I used to clean it up and go to the area in the yard where I wanted him to "go." After a week or two, the area was marked with the scent and the dog, when outside, concluded that was his area to go potty. Soon enough, he chose that area to do his business.
When I did catch him, I took him directly to the area in the yard which was the potty.
They catch on eventually. Be consistent and don't scare him.
What worked for me -
I lost 20 pounds doing low carb 4 years ago and have kept it off by watching refined carbs. I have always exercised and continue to do so. I like *Yourself Fitness* because the workout is different every single time. Best of luck!
It worked!
He looks like a sweet cat my in-laws once had when I first married their son. He was left outside, was intact, flea-ridden and battle-scarred but a sweet boy. Loved to have his head scritched. He lived a long time for an outdoor cat.
It worked for me.
I learned something also. I did not know that the more you weigh, the more calories you burn doing the same thing, interesting. Thanks.
Thank you T...My DH worked his way...
up to six figures (yes, the low end). You are right when you say some people think that is a lot of money when sometimes it is just enough to get by on for some people. We are fortunate and have made it a point to be debt free. We will not be a slave to the lender, working only to make payments on meaningless things. There is no reason for the catty remarks and jealousy. Some women are just bitter about life, and if that is the case figure out how to make it better. Life is too short to be unhappy.
What we did, which worked -sm
Same story here, except sometimes the dog would actually get out from under the fence and commence to follow us around our yard and bark when our neighbors were not home. My husband finally went over there one night to ask them if there was any way at all they could stop their dog from barking nonstop. They said they knew it barked and were very sorry it was bothering us. It stopped for about 6 months and then began happening again. Hubby then wrote a short note and placed it next to their mailbox, all the time stating we wanted to remain good neighbors with them but would very much like to be able to enjoy our own yard without hearing their huge dog barking all the time. It never happened again after that, going on 2 years now. No problems at all with them. Sometimes, it seems, people are very clueless or careless until you mention it to them. Try saying something in person. You may be surprised in a good way. Best of luck!
What worked for me
Tempting though it is, you don't want to reward timid or frightened behavior by giving affection then.

When I have detected nervous energy in any of my dogs during storms, I just started playing a favorite game of theirs to distract them. The noisier and more rambunctious the game, the better. The breeds I've had are not particularly sensitive to noise, I admit, but I learned with Sasha that all I had to do was play growly bump (her own game she taught me) to take her mind right off a storm.
If this worked then....(sm)

Hey, I literally feel your pain! Sometimes it feels as if I am sitting on a huge nail on my right buttock. Look up stetches online for sciatica. Like others have said, it really does help. I also get chiro adjustments and get a sports massage every other week, so I can continue to sit in my chair. Hope you find some relief!

It's time to stop when you or the kid(s) feel it is time, and no sooner. sm
My grandmother (who passed away at the young age of 107 back in the mid 1990s) was STILL celebrating every little holiday for all of her many kids and grandkids, and she would STILL give me a chocolate bunny every Easter, as she had since I was a toddler and even though I was 40ish at the time (and I still delighted in biting its head off in front of her, as I had also done since I was a toddler, which always met with mock disapproval from her).
Don't let anyone dampen your joy in celebrating your traditions.
What has worked for both me and my husband...
Lower your carbs starting NOW. Eat plenty of protein, along with a little fat at each meal, to keep you full. Do not drink your calories. Stay away from ALL refined carbs until you get where you want to be and then really keep them low because most of them are plain old not good for you anyway. Never allow yourself to feel *starving* because your body goes into a mode where it holds onto fat and the amount of calories you burn really drops down. Also, you have GOT to exercise, no way around that. Get moving EVERY single day, no excuses. Following these rules has allowed me to keep off the 20 pounds I had put on from never moving out of my chair (typing ALL day) over 5 years ago. Just had my blood work done and it is EXCELLENT. Good luck to you! :-)
What has worked with my hubby -
Men want to be fed. They want REAL food. To them, that means meat. I take hubby to Longhorn that night, he orders a big steak, potato, veggies, salad, etc. I also buy him some silk boxers with hearts on them and, well, you can guess the rest! He usually gets me candy and flowers, but he is always very surprised and happy when I do things for him this day. Good luck! :-)
Glad it worked for you!
I had those shots from the pain clinic before they put me on the narcotics, but they made me way worse. I will never ever have them again. I'm really glad they worked for you though. I tried all sorts of things before going to heavy duty pain meds, but nothing worked, and I wasn't functioning at all. I looked and felt like I was 80 or more even though I just turned 30. Now, I'm on a 50-mcg fentanyl patch with oxycodone 10 mg for breakthrough pain (along with other nonnarcotic meds) and occasionally using a TENS unit.
I still don't function at 100%, probably more like 60% to 70% on a good day, but at least that's better than where I was.
I hope the conservative measures continue to work for you, but if they don't, please don't let anyone tell you to learn to "live with it." I went through that for a few years, and trust me, it's no life.
Best of luck to you!
Actually, I worked for a PC company
a long time ago supervising the commercial aspect. They always tell you that, but they can and do die in walls. We were sent out many times to cut them out after people insisted on using poison.
The best advice that I can offer is that once you get rid of them, you seal off any areas where they can get back in. If you don't do that, then you will continue to have problems.
Now rats instead of mice, I don't know what to tell you to do if they are eating through the walls!
Me personally though, I had a rat as a pet. In fact, we had to put her to sleep about a month ago.
The foil worked! Thank you so much! nm

When I worked as a nurse (sm)
There was this CNA who would open up the windows every time someone would die. I thought she was kooky (for many reasons), but she said it was to release the spirit of the person.
I'm not superstitious, but I won't eat beans more than 3 days in a row.
I know and have worked with several doctors
Actually as a Transcriptionist I was glad because so many times you'd get Dr. Smith (if they got married, then which one?) Well, if they keep their maiden name or at least hyphenate it that made my life a lot easier. I think it also may have something to do with the fact that if they are in practice, everything must be changed and imagine the expense? Also if they are well known, they maybe do not want to jeopardize that. As long as the couple is happy, and he is not offended, I think it is just fine. Congratulations! I would address the letter Drs. April Cox and Richard Grant. JMO.
Worked around this before in cytology
and abnormal cells can also be due to an infection, just like it can be related to malignancy but I would take the lower end first. If it were me, I would definitely want follow up just to make absolutely sure the next Pap would be okay.
if the original had actually worked,
would not have had a problem with the scars. They are on the inner part of the arm, of course, as you probably know and unless I turn my arms upwards, sideways, would never know. I do not wear short sleeved blouses but it is not for that reason, for the fact my upper arms never changed any at all. Like Oprah, I have the bat wings.
