A broken love story - who do you agree with?

Two people were both in very bad marriages when they met - her husband had been cheating for years but she was afraid to leave, his wife had kicked him out repeatedly but had him come back to live basically as a roommate to help pay the bills.  They fell in love.  He was a strong Christian and started to feel terribly guilty and told her through many tears that it had to end, that God had to come first.  She, being a backslidden Christian herself saw that he was right.  Through many tears and lots of prayers for forgiveness and help, they let each other go.  Later, his wife kicked him out again, this time permanently.  About six months later, his love decided to finally leave her still cheating husband.  She told the man she loved.  He said that he missed her terribly and it was the hardest thing he had ever done, but because of the way their relationship started, they could never be together again, because it would be a sin.  She disagreed, feeling that they had been forgiven for what they had done and that neither of their marriages ended because of each other.  Who do you agree with?

Love movie "A Christmas Story" when dogs eat the turkey and they go out for Chinese. We love d
nm
I love that story, tell us another. nm
x
I agree and I think that's exactly what that is, a story.
The FBI is not going to arrest someone for child pornography and put them away for 8 years without good reason. Sounds like she is covering up or she actually believes that. What else is she going to say? Very sad, especially for thier little girl, but I would not let my child go over there either, or at least not until he is in jail.
I definitely agree with the say "I love you" sm
I am so glad that I can say I told my mom I loved her the last time we talked and she very unexpectedly died the next day.

Also, when I was in my late teens I was sarcastic, pessimestic, and very unpleasant person to be around. My brother said one day, "What have you done that makes you think the world owes you something?" My attitude changed practically overnight.
I love it. Don't agree with polygamy, but still
xx
Sounds broken to me - sm
I had a display case/suitcase (70#) fall on my foot years ago, it got knocked and started to fall so I jumped out of the way, but I had not jump back far enough and the edge of it landed on my right big toe. The next day I was showing it to the company controller (it happened at work), she freaked as it was blue, black, purple, and of course hurt like the dickens. Went to the hospital, yep, broken clean in half. All they did for it was give me a special boot for my foot to wear for 3 weeks and obviously to use crutches until it was less painful. Can't hurt to get it checked but there really is not much they can do either.
Broken hearted. SM
Last Wednesday evening I called the police regarding dog barking right next to my house. It was just terrible all day, 12 hours the dog was at the door and they did not let it in, then they left. I kept leaving the house and coming back to avoid it. It was day off. This has been a problem with these people, who have beautiful dogs. Some days not bad at all, some just terrible. I finally could not take it any longer. I waited for the police to come out in front of theh house and the neighbor and his wife drove up shortly afterwards. When the neighbor first saw the police he apologized for his barking dog, which was still going crazy. When I, trying to be upfront and honest, told him I called and was sorry for doing so, things got bad. He was swinging his arms around, denying everything, etc. He said the next time my car is stuck in the snow I can just remember what I did to him. I never ask for anyone's help, but a few times he helped get my car out. I take care of myself and never, ever ask anyone for help. Now it is silent next door. I love dogs more than anything and just wanted the police to help me speak to him. The policeman said that the guy handled it very immaturely and told the guy he was blowing this out of proportion. I am sad and feel terrible living here now. Please help.
I think my spirit is broken also (sm)
He said to me this morning "You can't take care of yourself, you need someone to take care of you, you don't make enough money." Well, I would probably have to work more but the fact is I make pretty darn good money considering I do 99.9% of the taking care of our children and everything around our house. Just another way to degrade me I think.
Broken hearts?

HELP......  My son is 17, almost 18 years old.  His girlfriend of one year (a lifetime at this age) has just left (two weeks ago) for college about 4 hours away from hometown... my son is having a HORRIBLE time adjusting to this.   She is partying, not text messaging, no emails, etc. etc.  all the while claiming she loves him but just does not think about him much anymore.   I was up until almost midnight last night with a crying teenager and trying to explain to him that this too will make him stronger and all the crap you are supposed to say, none of which seemed to make him feel any better.   He is horribly lonely... they have not officially "broken up" though she said if that would make him happy she understands...  What is a mother to do?  Back away slowly and let him walk through it...  make cookies and wring my hands until I go nuts... watch him be depressed and say nothing at all????  Any other Mom's who have gone through this???  ANY help would be appreciated.   Thanks in advance.

what is the material that is broken
is it hard plastic?  could possibly glue (Gorilla glue) and clamp somehow?
Thanks both of you. My heart is just broken sm
not much else I can say. I have tried so many times to talk to her about this and she just doesn't care.
Don't know if this machine is broken or not...help?
Sorry to intrude here but someone in this crowd likely know the answer to my quandary(SP?)... I'm not a Transcriptionist but my neighbor wants me to sell these two machines he has. I learned trans back in high school (30 years ago!) but think these two machine "might" be broken. Both units are micro players (the Lanier VW-210 and Lanier P-101). Neither show the "units" or "location" in their digital displays... From my recall, the machine was supposed to tell you where in the tape you were (hence I believe the above indicators). Everything else works on the machines but if they're broken I don't think I should sell them. Any suggestions? I went looking for advice, online manuals, you name it. Whatever suggestions or advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated!
I agree. They always love $$ which a gift card is. sm
Especially if you don't know her.  But if you have a favorite lotion you use, or something cosmetic, for that amount $20,  they really love new, special cosmetics, too.
I agree - poor Thorne - looking for love but (sm)
LOL - can't wait to see the look on Stephanie's meddling old face.
I think she died of a broken heart.

She said in an interview awhile back that if it wasn't for her baby, she'd be with Daniel whereever he was.  She wanted to leave this earth.

This whole thing is so sad - like some horrible made-for-TV-movie.

Black and blue toe - broken??
Ok, so I was walking from my daughter's room to my room last night and had this sharp pain in my 2nd toe on my left foot. I just shook it off as it didn't hurt that bad, but I woke up this morning and my toe is all bruised up with dark purple and redish shades on the bottom half. It doesn't really hurt unless I put direct pressure on it, but do you think this could be broken? Obviously, I would need an x-ray to know for sure, but does anyone have another explanation for why this would happen. I went ahead and buddy-taped it just in case and will continue to monitor for any changes, and will probably go to the dr on Monday if it gets worse, but this is just weird as it doesn't really feel broken??
Anyone ever broken your clavicle? How did it feel? (sm)
I am concerned I may have broken mine when I tripped and fell last night.  Trying to decide if it is really broken or if I am being a wimp!  It hurts when I raise my arm on that side, not excruciating, but not pleasant.
You sure it is not broken? Two months is way too long - sm
Go to an Orthopedist if you have not yet done so. Maybe you tore something if it is not broken. A sprain normally heals in less than a week, not months.
My house was broken into while it was locked...
I normally leave it unlocked and noone has ever just walked in. It would have been a lot cheaper to fix if it had been unnlocked for the burglary. When my house was broken into, it was empty and the majority of the monetary damages were due to the damage caused by breaking in.
Tough love can be a good thing - I agree w/you

You did the right thing.  He needs to learn otherwise you are going to have a yo-yo on your hands.

I wish I had stuck to my guns the first time my son did that.  It took me a few years to learn.  Moving away from home is NOT something small.  It is a BIG thing and you son needs to realize that.  I WISH I had listened to someone besides my mothers advice and maybe my son would be better off.

IMHO--- People should get real - You took YOUR key back  You did NOT kick him out you were giving him what he wanted.  You did NOT put him out into the streets.

Stick to your guns mom and I think that one day he will be a better man for it.

could be broken blood vessel, often called

soccer kicker's toe, football kicker's toe, etc.  RICE is the treatment for it.  It looks worse than it actually is.  (RICE - rest, ice, compression, elevation.)

I agree. One I LOVE is that milky minutes, lactose intolerant one. sm
I snicker every time. If you haven't caught it...

Family around the kitchen table. Mom finds poker chips that are UNUSED CELLPHONE MINUTES in the garbage with milk on them.

WHAT are THESE?

Umm leftover minutes from last month.

These are still good! You know what happens to my sister's unused minutes?

She loses them

That is right, she loses them. My sister would love to have these milky minutes.

Hubbie: Isn't your sister lactose intolerant?

I love word games and double entendre, and creative use of the language, oddly drawn verbal conclusions and other oddities (hazard of my work?) so this one gets me smiling.
I'll join you!! I agree.made me cry too, love this stuff!
xx
I heard the voice yelling out about broken record
and I figured Kara was saying similar statement as she had for previous round. Had no idea Megan's brother. I, like you, could not believe how she was acting and basically think she shot her own self in her foot. What music producer would take a wannabe and try to make a star out of that? Besides do not consider her that talented at all.
Wait! No pigs in the White House, though. Nevermind..that rule has already been broken! nm
bn
Considering her face was broken multiple times by Ike Turner, a facelift is certainly excusable. nm

I LOVE love love shallots! I use them in everything that calls for an onion and/or garlic. Mmmmmm. n

American Idol - Love, love, love Adam!!!
I think he'll make it til the end! At least I hope so!

What an awesome post! I agree, agree, agree completely with you.
You are right on the money in my book!
There is teacher's side of story, kid's side of story

My niece had a Yorkie, the love of her life! We all loved her so. Lots of love in store for you.
XX
She's sweet. I think she's gorgeous. Love her hair. Love her sm
smile. I wish I looked that great! I don't even come close, so who am I do judge? I admire beauty greatly in other women...I envy them!
sweet....love the heart charm, he's got love.
nm
God bless you on your path, all love begins with self-love, so you are really on your way.....sm
We should have less time putting needless labels on things, paying attention to dividing lines, and pratice more love, understanding, and humiility....we will all have things to answer for, no one is perfect, but I believe we are all precious and loved by the Lord, who knows all hearts, and has infinitely more compassion and mercy than ANY of us can comprehend. Be happy and take care of yourself, sexuality is such a small part of who we are in this world, but you have to be happy and at peace.
I love the animal channel, really love it and
my sweetie and I both watch but I absolutely, even if I know nature and the balance of, want to see small animals being killed and eaten and so forth. I know it happens but I either change the station or pick up the paper and read or find another way so I don’t watch. Also watch Discovery, love animals and love those shows!
I love you! hahaha I love your response! You can come over here sm
and kick my butt the next time I "allow" my husband to make me feel crap for whatever reason - which there seems to be many - he wouldn't complain if I made more money than him because his lazy behind wants to stay home and do nothing all day except to play golf. He tells me all the time, "when are you going to own your MT business so I can golf all day."

But, he is very mean, also. He hurts my feelings constantly and doesn't even care. He makes me drive around in his truck with bald tires and I don't like doing that for fear of a blow out and he'll just tell me, "well, don't go anywhere then." We have the money in the bank to get new tires, but he won't get them.

I love your comment, though!

And for all of you who will say, "well, leave the jerk!" It isn't that easy. We have 3 boys and I would be homeless. I only make 300 every 2 weeks MTing. We have a lovely home with a lot of space and besides him living here, the kids and I LOVE it and love each other so much.
Well, I LOVE a challenge too, Would love to debate this one day with you! sm
haha

Seriously, I was a staunch atheist for 20+ years. It's funny, though. I, too, believe that we are all electrical energies and that energy doesn't "die" and so, theoretically, where does your "electricity" go when you die, i.e., your spirit? I believe that "energy" within us is our spirit life - and that must go somewhere, right? It doesn't just go into the groun - which is what I thought for so long.

Anyways, when I learned about our "energy" and how it must go somewhere, I was really testing the waters of Christianity up to that point. After hearing about that, I was convinced that there must be an afterlife. I believe we go either of 2 places.

Anyways, I love ALL people of all religions, regardless of what I "think" or "believe." I don't think any less of you because of your beliefs! If I were to believe in a God who forgave me and loved me in my mut and mire, who am I to judge and criticize those who think differently of me?

I've always liked you no matter what your philosophy on life was....
Love people who love dogs.

I love the dressing and I love lemon pie..sm
My mom's lemon pie that is. I also love this dessert called Texas Delight or some people call it different things but is is layers of chocolate pudding and cream cheese and whipped cream. The food is my favorite part besides the watching my son open presents on x-mas.
Young love/older love
I think it has a lot to do with your age and his. I married hubby at age 59 and he was 49. Best thing I ever did but say if you are 30 and he is 20, hmmm in that case might not be so workable. What are the ages here?
Give her love, love, love and if she...
doesn't want medicine - don't force it. Does she like to be stroked or does she like her belly rubbed? You better than anyone else know how to make her feel loved. Give her that. If her times comes before Monday, all the better for you and her. She'll die peacefully in her loving home. But, if not, be prepared to give her the last loving gesture you can - if it's time to, than let her go.

I had to put my 13 year old Lab down two months ago. It is one of the hardest things to do. But, you'll know when it's time. My dog, Shadow, told me he was done, tired, beat. He sent me the message quite clearly. But, still I waited, not for him but for me! Finally I "heard: him and did what needed to be done. I sobbed for hours and then just suddenly stopped, I realized I was crying for me - not for him! He had had a wonderful loving home with "mom and dad and brother". He was old and tired and wanted to rest. He deserved that rest! So, it's done. Yeah, I'm still sad. But I know that it was the right thing to do. And, yeah, call me nuts if you want - I know that when it's my time that Shadow will come running, knock me over, sit down on my chest and lick me silly!

Now, I'll go and give my cat lots of love and remember the fun I had with Shadow. My thoughts are with you - make the best of the time you have with your loved one's, be them human or furry! My thoughts are with you.
And I DO not believe her story, either
This day and time you can get outside help. She kept her eyes down all time while questioned. If in front of Judge Judy she would have to look the judge straight in the eyes. I think she should have gotten much more time, flimsy story, crocodile tears.
come on now...tell the whole story.
You decked her out, right? LOL. If you didn't, she is one lucky woman.
Do you believe this story
For the most part, she blames her actions on stress from her illness. I can (somewhat) see someone stealing to pay bills or to put money aside for savings, but not for a lavish wedding or cruises.

GOFFSTOWN, N.H. -- A woman accused of stealing more than $1 million from her nonprofit employer said she used the money to pay for medical bills, vacations and her daughter's wedding.

"My daughter was getting married; I wanted her to have a nice wedding," said Linda Bevins, who has colon and lung cancer. "I had nothing, it all went to cancer. I thought I was going to die. I wanted to have a good life. I wanted my husband to have peace of mind."

Bevins was fired in June from her job as a payroll supervisor for the Crotched Mountain Foundation, which runs a disabilities rehabilitation center in Greenfield. She, her husband, and daughter now are being sued by the foundation. A criminal investigation is also going on.

Bevins was diagnosed with colon cancer in 1999 and took a job as a payroll specialist with Crotched Mountain in 2001 to help pay her medical bills; she was promoted to supervisor a year later. She told the New Hampshire Sunday News she began taking money in 2004 after doctors told her the cancer had spread to her liver, and the prognosis was not good.

Bevins said she's not certain how much money she took, but doesn't dispute Crotched Mountain's estimate of $1.3 million. She said at least $200,000 went to medical bills for her cancer treatments and another chunk paid for her daughter's wedding, which included a custom-made wedding dress. Bevins said she also took her family on two cruises and used stolen money to make donations to churches and other organizations.

"It bothered me a lot because I was not the type of person to do that," Bevins said of the thefts. "I would get depressed that this was happening and I'd say 'I can't do this anymore.' But then something else would happen and all of a sudden I'm doing it."

An audit commissioned by Crotched Mountain revealed allegations that Bevins issued payroll checks to her daughter, Holly Sears, and herself, and funneled foundation money into personal bank accounts. Bevins said biannual company audits didn't catch her scheme, nor did a co-worker who helped her with the payroll.

Neither her daughter nor husband knew anything about the thefts, though she acknowledged that sometimes she asked Sears, 26, to cash checks for her, Bevins said.

Bevins said she's ashamed of what she's done, but blames at least part of her actions on her former employer.

As the only employee who could handle the payroll, Bevins said she was constantly on call, even while on vacation or sick leave. She said Crotched Mountain workers even called her cell phone while she was in the hospital, and nurses became so fed up by the they asked a doctor to put a stop to it.

"If I didn't have the stress, maybe I wouldn't have gotten sick and wouldn't have had the bills and maybe (the stealing) wouldn't have ever started," she said.

My story...{sm}
I understand.  One time on our way home while on vacation, I was driving through the mountains in Colorado, and I was driving about 50 or 55 mph.  I am not used to driving in the mountains - I'm a flatlander.  My husband got mad at me because I wasn't driving fast enough!  I told him that this is the speed I felt comfortable at.  He told me that someone was going to run into us from behind because I was going so slow.  At the next town we came to, I pulled into a restaurant and told him I wasn't going to drive anymore.  He said that one of us was going to take the bus home from there.  Well, that didn't happen, but it sure was quiet the rest of the trip.
That's a whole different story
I had a friend in a similar situation. Her hub didn't beat her, but pushed her on several occasions and was generally overbearing in all their day-to-day decisions. She did leave him, but the middle one of her 3 children opted to stay with the dad and the judge allowed it, thus splitting the family. He went on to lavish that child with all kinds of goodies, alienating the oldest child. My friend later moved in with another guy, much like the husband she had left, and at that point, their youngest child refused to change schools and also moved in with her dad.

So, either way, I would suggest counseling for you anyway, if nothing else to insure you don't end up with another man just like the first.

Another cat story . . .
BARTLETT, Tenn. -- Tabitha Cain has fed a feral cat she calls Wild Oats for several years, but now she's thinking of changing its name to Survivor.

That's because she said the cat survived for 19 days with a peanut butter jar stuck on its head.

"We tried to get her, but being the type of cat you can't catch, she kept running and hiding," said Doretha Cain, Tabitha's mother.

The family saw the cat several times and tried in vain to catch her. She disappeared for a week, and the Cains feared the worst.

"I thought she was going to die with that jar on her head," Tabitha Cain said.

They found the once chubby cat on Wednesday, too thin and weak to escape. They caught her with a fishing net and used some oil to get the jar off her head.

They gave her water and treated her wounds and on Friday she began to eat again.

"I've heard of cats having nine lives but I think this one has 19 because she survived 19 days," Doretha Cain said.

Dr. Gerald Blackburn, a veterinarian at Gentle Care Animal hospital in Memphis, said he's heard similar stories of pets getting trapped for days or even weeks at a time and surviving.

Blackburn said the cat may have lived off of its excess fat, but Doretha Cain had another explanation.

"God will take care of animals just like people because that cat is really a miracle," she said.
I believe your story, but
if you could not move, how did you use the phone?
Oh please, the OP's story
is bunk. If this really happened *as described,* anyone adult would realize steps would need to be taken.

Really, someone at the school called her a bad parent over the things she describes?

If it was *truly* over being late in the fog or a flat tire, or "coddling" a second grader, or saying you were encouraging a romantic relationship in 2nd grade (what evidence is that one based on?) wouldn't YOU know you need to deal with that **without posting on an MT board to ask advice???**

Also, she titles the post something about the counselor being "defensive." What exactly was the counselor defensive about? Sounds like she was on the offensive, if she busted a gusset to talk to the OP and considering what she "said." Clearly the OP was on the defensive! Sounds to me like the post changed somewhere between the subject line and the narrative to make the OP sound and feel better.

The post does not ring true. There is more to it than we're getting.
It is her story
Management company wanted her to go to rehab. She asked her dad if he thought she needed to go, and he said no. It may not be pretty but it is a true life story.

I find that much more compelling than Brad Paisley singing about picking ticks off his lady love!
Wow, what a story!
Like, why?  Didn't it hurt eventually?  And how could you sleep that way?
