Plane looks intact and people on rafts in the really, really cold water. Not sure if people are still inside. Hope everyone is okay.

The historic Hudson Valley, fairly close to the river. We've had lots of 40

Many ferries are around the plane, but plane is starting to sink.
They think a bird had hit the plane.
If it's not happening, it's not happening. As for the money . . SM
I would be very suspicious of that, particularly from someone you barely see or talk to. Sounds either like he is married or a freeloader. or both. Save yourself the pain and move on.

A River Runs Through It
Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.
I am haunted by waters.
Get off my plane!

I am in PA. I would like to go to the New River Gorge in W. Va. and do some of the Shenandoah on
the way. Neat area. I love W. VA but the roads are unbelievably winding.
Do you know where in Florida this is? Is it St. Johns River? sm
my mom lives in Florida and if it is in the right location, she would love that!
OMG!! I have cried a river reading this...sm
I am a softie for dogs anyway, and I especially have a special place in my heart for pit bulls and beagles too. This goes to show what wonderful dogs a pit can be. I am not surprised at all that this dog did this because a pit is one of the most smart, loving, feeling dogs you could ever meet. If they are raised right that is. It is so typical of a pit to risk his own life to save someone in need. This pit who some people claim are dangerous could have very well saved this woman and her son from a tragic end. And then for him to jump in her back seat as if to say please take me home. I just would have begged them to please let me take him home. I am glad to know if nobody claims him she will take care of him now because he deserves it. He truly is an "angel." THIS is why I love pit bulls. Until you know one you don't know the love they are capable of.
another plane just hit NYC building
gosh -- turned on the TV for a break and it was emotional to see again -- tho they say that there is no reason to believe its a terror attack --
S. Street Seaport is on the East River
I grew up in the town of Catskill, right next to the river.
I miss thoore brisk mornings.
Then buy a 2nd plane ticket for it to ride next to her, lol.

I actually agree with you on that. I have taken trips by plane and bus alone and met really
interesting people actually more interesting than the people I go with sometimes. I just have never driven alone somewhere with no one to talk to on the road, etc. Just wondering about that part of it.
So it wasn't contest where they threw bird out of plane and
s
Afraid of flying. Haven't been on a plane since 1995.
But I'm an outdoor girl. I sleep out in the woods a lot and don't mind bugs, snakes, bears, or sounds in the night.
Wasn't terrorism..plane belonged to Cory Lidle...
Very sad indeed - he was just going for his pilot license or just got that........after they lost the playoffs on Sunday he said he was going to get his license to fly.
Very sad indeed but definitely not terrorism and I sure hope it wasn't suicide!!!!! Time will tell us all details, I am sure.
I am sorry this is happening to you --sm
First off, I think your BIL, and this is just my opinion so I don't need to be bashed for it, is TOTALLY responsible for the vehicle, since it was in his possession at the time, with your permission, of course. From the sounds of it, it seems like he had more than one option of what he could have done with those vehicles. It was his *negligence* in maintaining due care for your property that caused it to be stolen. Let's, for instance, say that he had borrowed a car from you. The car was in an accident while in his possession. He would be responsible. In my opinion, it would hold the same for this instance. Have the police been notified? Unfortunately, these types of things can cause family rifts that may never heal. the damage has already been done, so maybe you should speak to a lawyer to see what YOUR options are. Personally, I wouldn't just sit back and let them sherk their responsibilities. If the shoe were on the other foot, would they be so willing to just let it go and be out the $1700? Good luck to you in whatever you decide to do.
You will probably never know - unless it keeps happening. sm)
This happened to me once. Same treatment for it that your DH got - I never had it again and never did find out what caused it. All I know is boy was I relieved to have that horrible itching stop!
I see this happening with my eldest son now
He is 30, engaged for 2 years, getting married in 3 weeks - 10 hours away with only 1 month's notice to his family - and because of all kinds of strange things - new jobs, DD's second baby due any minute - there is no way any of us can go. She has been here to our house 3 times in 10 years - won't make Christmas/Thanksgiving as it is 90 miles and too far. My son knows she is selfish but is accepting of it and so we all have to be also - but I seriously doubt I will have much of a relationship with his children but I will do what I can - like I'm sure you have - but it takes cooperation and work on all sides and so far I have not seen any effort from her and doubt I ever will. I think somehow it is a 'power' struggle/play with her and I won't play her games - I won't quit - but I just won't play.
Reversal will not be happening, as
I don't have kids and don't want any. Like I said, I wanted to get this done when I was 20 (maybe even before, don't remember exactly), but the doctors either refused to do it or looked at me like I had 3 eyes when they found I had no kids yet. I told them I was definitely not going to change my mind about this, and I was 100% sure. So, either they don't think women can be sure about this, or they thought I couldn't possibly be a woman who didn't want kids (like something is wrong with that). At any rate, it still makes me mad as I didn't start with the chronic pain until my mid 20s, and it would have been much easier for me to do this back before it started and my health was better.
I'm mostly worried about the pain aspect as the slightest bit of pain is intensified a thousand times over, and I already have way too much to handle. I was trying to avoid the surgery and get an IUD instead. However, like I said below, I was told it is not recommended in women who have not had children. So, the tubal is kind of a last resort.
Thank you-I know it's bad - if it was happening to a friend (sm)
I would be telling her the same thing you are telling us. I don't know why it's so hard to tell myself the same thing. Thank you for caring. I am going to make copies of everything so that if I do get some courage together I'll have my act together too.
Exactly what is happening further up the coast
never been hit but could be and so insurance companies hightailing it. Where I live tornados (hurricaines on land) come through occasionally and I am sooo scared of these as sure most others are. I used to live on the coast on St Simons Island, hated it, but do not care for either situation as far as weather is concerned.
What's happening to Schools
Everytime I pick up a newspaper, watch the news or read stuff off the internet I hear about schools being in lockdown. Why is this happening? It wasn't heard of way back when. Don't the schools today lock their doors any when school is in session and use a buzzer to let people in and out? This is really scary. Schools today need to put more security in place. I can't imagine being a student, parent or school official and having to deal with this.
What is happening to this country
How in the world did they come to the conclusion that has to do with drugs. It could mean a hundred things. When DH and I are arguing he does that all the time (like the poster below said) it means time out. The kids in the pics look like a couple of nice teenagers (except of course not one of the best poses for a prom photo.
I wonder how many other people this is happening to? -sm
It would be QUITE the major news story if it turned out they were doing this to millions of people across the country. (But I sure wouldn't put it past our government to do it, either!) Maybe that was the plan all along.
That is happening where I live also. The
way I look at it, is it more sensible to take 1 day a week or so without pay versus the possibility of being laid off and only drawing unemployment.
So tired of this happening.

Isn't there anything else happening to talk about?
I can't be the only tired of all the news coverage.
I knew about 2 happening in adult because
my father was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of approximately 87 or so but it also ran in his family, his mother died years earlier from renal failure, long before dialysis was around. I had always thought with type 1 that was from childhood and the doctor today said it was 1 if it ran in the family. My husband was diagnosed several years before he had to start on medications as he kept under control with diet alone, watching what he eats and not overdoing plus checking blood sugars. Thanks for your input.
Other things could be happening here. Call parent
I agree that your daughter is responsible for her phone and her charges. She should take it up with her friend and/or the friend's mother.
But you, as the adult, should also contact the other child's mother, and here's why. A lovely woman I know recently had to hospitalize her 15-year-old daughter after a suicide attempt. It's a long story, but basically, she got mixed up in an online romance. She was cut off from computer and cell phones at home, but she was working around it everywhere else. In the end, when it was all discovered, along with other things happening, this young girl tried to kill herself over the entire mess.
It could be that the girl who did the texting is not allowed to text, and this is how she worked around it. It could be a simple thing or not. Maybe she was running up text messages on her parents plan, and her parents put a stop to it. Or it could be that she's contacting someone that her parents don't want her to contact. In any case, her parents need to know that she is sending text messages. Provide them with that information. What you do about the bill is a different matter, I think.
