Out in the sticks.......... sm
about 20 miles from any store of any substance but a convenience store about 3 miles away.
I was on it. I didn't do ovulation sticks, but
I had a vaginal ultrasound every month and if things looked good I got an HCG injection. I was on my last month of being able to do this and got pregnant and my child is now 13. The Clomid alone did not work for me.
Also, DH had to be tested for counts and on the test he was found to have white cells. He was put on antibiotics. My doc said that it could possibly prevent conception. If you aren't ovulating yet it might not be something you need to be concerned about, but if DH hasn't already been checked it is worth checking into.
This was my second pregnancy. My first pregnancy I had no issues, but I had also been on the pill for 10 years so things were kept regulated. I didn't go back on the pill after the first pregnancy.
Good luck to you.
How about a crystal bowl or something on that
x
Another hypothesis going around is crystal meth.

Crystal Shanda Leer--really!! NM

Actually, it's crystal....and I personally would say something to you in person (nm)

Okay. Guess you should look into that crystal ball you have
since you are all-seeing and all-knowing.
When you get sick, and you have to sell your house. I will listen to you.
When you have used up all the money in the bank, then I will listen to you.
By the way, do you know that Social Security was intended to be short term? Did you know that it is in danger of going bye-bye? And, oh yeah, it wasn't intended for the purposes it is being used for. How many years did you plan for exactly? My aunt had more than you mentioned and was considered ritch. Too bad she got sick the year before she died and lost it all, huh?
One episode in the hospital could wipe out everything you have saved all your life.
YOU ARE NOT IMMUNE. The more you spout, the worse things turn out. Better get that crystal ball out so you can be ready!
Saw Jo Malone candle for $325. How much would
No, I didn't buy it. Newspaper showed high end candle and best "low end candle", which was Yankee candle in some or other scent.
Light a candle... see message
The next time you "feel" someone is with you by some strange occurence happening, light a candle. Communicate with them, actually talk out loud to them, let them know that you are thinking of them. Ask them questions. When you go to bed that night, write down the questions you may have for them and then see if you have any insightful dreams.
I absolutely love this stuff!

Hmmm, a Dexatrim candle?

Have you tried the electric candle warmers?
They work really well too without the flame.

Well, I guess I could lite a candle

I think the spray does too, but the candle smelled good in the box

glass
You can find them alot of places. Crafts stores carry them, Wal-Mart, and any store that pretty much has a craft section. Check them out.
For me, there is nothing like a glass
or two of merlot after a hard day at work to relax!
I love the Thorne/Donna thing. Can't wait till Donna sticks it to Stephanie.
Trying to buy stained glass
I am trying to find an hanging stained glass octagon shaped item for my daughter. Anyone bought some before and if so, where from? Thanks.

Painting on glass surfaces
Ok, here is my problem. I bought a beautiful set of China in a magnolia pattern, stunning, for little of nothing. I then was able to get some platters, 4 bowls, salt and pepper and the like from a replacement China company but no where can I find a gravy boat. I have been looking for about 2 months. This is what I had thought of and perhaps someone out there has done this. I have a white gravy boat that I had thought of buying paint to decorate the outside some to make it blend in with my set that I will be using Christmas. Has anyone done any China painting like this or just painting on dishes and what kind of paint would I get. I do not want to have to finish with processing it afterwards, just a 1 stop painting and drying deal. Thanks.
Now the question is, would you like a glass of water?
Water or Coke? Could not believe this..... Very interesting
WATER
#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half the world population.)
#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger.
#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%.
#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day?
COKE
#1. In many states the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.
#3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.
#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
#5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
#6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
#7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
#8... To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION:
#1. the active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.
#2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup! (the concentrate) the commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.
#3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean engines of the trucks for about 20 years!
Now the question is, would you like a glass of water?
With those big leaded-glass windows the builders put
in, it's kind of hard to hide when the lights are on inside and you are in the LR. If I'm in my office and DH isn't in the LR either, I just peak out to see who it is. I may have to replace that dumb front door, but the window in the door is the only window in the living room. Stoopid builders.
How do you get stuff off glass stove tops? SM
I have tried the white creamy stuff from Sears, where I purchased stove. That doesn't get everything off. One site suggested a straight razor, but since I type for a living, I am reluctant to use one (except when shaving legs!).
Any tips? Please? Thank you.
Oh, Miss Perfect, people in glass houses
It sounds to me like her daughter turned out just fine. I'm sure there are a lot of skeletons in your Christian closet so should keep hypocritical mouth shut, I'd say.
I love my electric ceramic/glass cook top, but
you have to clean the darn thing and keep it clean!!! Its not as hard as taking the electric coils out of the old one and cleaning it. You can turn it off for the last 5-10 minutes of your cooking and it will still be hot just as hot and cut electricity that way!!! DO A LOT OF COOKING IN A SLOW COOKER.... you can even bake in a slow cooker. it costs 2 cents an hour!!!! The oven can cost up to $5 depending on what kind you have!!!
Split up what you have and stagger the pieces, play with it, add some glass, and/or start

3-way lights
They do now make them for 3-way lights. They are hard to find, but they are out there.
lights
We put ours up every year. We only leave them on for about 2-3 hours a night and not every night. We do it because our kids love them.
lights
I use hooks and bread ties.
Christmas Lights
Did you know that Orthodox Christians around the world do not celebrate Christmas until January 7th? (We call it Nativity). We then keep our decorations up until Theophany, which is the baptism of Christ, which happens to be today. Just thought you might appreciate a view from a different angle.
got my new one - 1300 lights on a 7-1/2
I posted earlier about prelit trees. Ordered one from Home Depot because it was free shipping and delivered to my home since I have no way of getting a huge box home. I always got a skinny one - but this year everyone is gone but me so I figured it could take up the whole living room! It is stunning!
We don't do christmas lights. Instead we
do halloween decorations. We have more fun with that and it helps that halloween usually falls during a time when our energy bills are normally the lowest for the year.
I found the lights very helpful
I suffer from SAD to some degree no matter where I live, but I did not realize it until I started breeding birds as a hobby. I had a room with dozens of cages stacked together. On the two long walls, I vertically mounted two 6 foot uncovered natural lights and on the short walls I horizontally mounted two 3 foot of the same lights.
After I brought the birds their breakfast in the mornings, I would sit in the room for an hour to watch the birds' behavior. After about a year, I realized I was feeling better than I had ever felt in my life. Not only no depression, but my energy level was higher, my house stayed neater, I was better able to concentrate, I interacted better with people...
My work space is now located next to a sliding glass door and I keep the curtains pulled back all day every day. If you want to go look into the lights before you buy, a good source is in a pet shop in the lizard/snake/aquarium area where natural lights are sold in different strengths and shapes. They are NOT cheap, but the ones in pet shops last a long time and you should find something that would blend into your home. If you can't find them in the pet shop, look for a magazine like Bird Talk online and go to the merchandise/advertiser section for a distributor.
After all these years, the love lights are
burning stronger than ever.
Those low-mounted driving lights that - (sm)
illuminate both sides of the road are really helpful on dark country roads at night, and in the rain, too. They help me see puddles of deeper water, especially those along the side of the road that can get you spun around if just one front tire hits them. They're also good if you're watching for deer, pedestrians, etc.
I've learned a few tricks that help improve night driving vision:
First, if your windshield is pitted, replace it. The pits diffuse bright lights and make it hard to see.
Keep your headlights, tail-lights & turn-indicator lights clean so they'll be as bright as possible.
If I've been doing a long drive from daylight into night, especially if headed into the sunset, I'll wear sunglasses that are as dark as possible during bright daylight. Once the sun sets, I'll switch to more lightly tinted ones and wear them for as long as I can to help get my eyes better adjusted to the dark.
Once it's pretty dark, I usually take a break at a service station, and in addition to the slight rest I get from topping off the tank, I also take that opportunity to get my windshield as clean as possible - inside and out.
Next I'll wipe off my driving glasses, and finally, use some "Clear Eyes" eye drops in my eyes.
Finally, a sort of "last resort" trick I use to improve my vision right after passing an oncoming car with very bright headlights is to close one eye for a few seconds as the on coming car is within a certain distance. That way the iris in that eye doesn't have to readjust as much as the one that was blinded by the oncoming headlights.
All of those things make driving at night a little easier.
Anyone not putting up Christmas lights?
I usually make a big to-do out of having the house and yard lit up, but this year I don't think I'm going to. The few hours they are on a night sure packs a punch on the electric bill. How bout everyone else?
I live in the boonies, have never put up lights nm

putting up Xmas lights
Sorry if this may seem really dumb but I've never done this before - how do you attach the lights to siding on a house around windows and doors? It's not wood siding, it's an older home with aluminum siding.
IMO definitely depression
I think people get freaked when you say depression because they think of Grapes of Wrath or what our grandparents talk about what they went through. They say "Oh that'll never happen here" - "Gas at $3.00 your nuts, that'll never happen to us". I think that as long as they don't cancel American Idol people don't care. I talk to siblings they have no idea of what's going on in the economy but they know the statistics of all American Idols or Survivors. It's sad. I definitely see a depression coming. First, gas prices are soaring. People can't afford it. If they can't afford it they can't get themselves to work, or they work OT just to pay for gas to get to work (when OT is available). Food prices rising. Reports of food shortages in areas, jobs being shipped overseas. Then the wierd weather patterns I also believe somehow affect the economy. To me I see a major depression hitting us. Also I do read a lot of websites (the kind that my family thinks I'm into conspiracies - that is until they start hearing the same news I'm telling them about, they just hear about it months later and pretend I never told them anything).
depression?
Okay so they say, finally, that we are in a recession. I am thinking that we may be going into another Great Depression. Call me doom and gloom but come on now, look at life. So, my question is to those of you who stock up on stuff. What do you stock up on and how do u do it? I mean, do you go out one day when you grocery shop and just spend a fortune on extra stuff or do you spread it out. Also, those of you that mentioned being stocked up, obvious it limits grocery trips and probably saves some money here and there but if we face a depression, do you think that there will be a huge shortage of food in our grocery stores?
depression
Ladies, help me out. What physical conditions can cause depression or mood swings? For the past few months I have been experiencing bouts of depression that seem to come out of nowhere and hit me like a ton of bricks. Within the span of 5 minutes I go from feeling normal and content to feeling like life is completely meaningless and hopeless. This is completely out character for me. I have always had a positive outlook, very even-tempered, and don't even get emotional around my period. The year 2008 was one of the most stressful years of my life and there is still a lot of stress going on so I realize it could indeed be that I have reached my emotional limit, but if there could be a physical cause, I am willing to entertain that as well. Thanks for any insight.
Do you think he could be going through depression maybe? sm
Depression is an illness and it can definitely make you lose motivation or desire for anything. Just a thought.
I wonder if he has depression & if
depression meds would help pull him out of his funk so he could be at least motivated enough to get out & work? I fight depression & don't feel like working, but of course I do it because I have to support myself, but maybe he has a greater degree of depression?
On the other hand, I had a relative like this, and as long as anyone would hand him money, he wouldn't do anything to help himself. When people would cut him off, he'd work a while... My husband & I decided after a while of that that we would feed him when he came over to eat because we always have leftovers anyway, that we would quit handing him money but would never let him go hungry & he was welcome to eat with us anytime he wanted, but that would be the extent of it.
If he already owns a dump truck, he should be able to at least do a job here & there & get by though. I know men who would love to own their own dump truck!
There's no easy answer & I feel for you.
I miss college and Carnation Instant Breakfast in a nice tall glass of ice cold milk.

Christmas lights and decorations up after New Year's!
We always take ours down New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. Our neighbors still have theirs out (lawn decorations and everything) and up until just a week ago they were still turning them on at night! Ugh! It also bugs me when people leave the Christmas lights on their houses year-round. I love the holidays and I love having my Christmas stuff out, but when the holidays are over, so are my decorations!
sorry...pot lights or high hats over the mantle...nm
s
I'm going to turn out the lights, lock up the house, -
and instead of doing the trick-or-treat thing, am going on a Halloween night costumed inline skate through the streets of S.F. with my skate-buddies. Most likely WE will eat the candy I originally bought! ;)
