"Siberian Huskies"

this was a really cute video.  Those are really beautiful looking dogs.  How long have you had yours?  Tell us a little about them.  When I was living in Georgia I knew a lady with a Golden Retriever (Buster Brown) and he would try to dig bigger holes in the ground that chipmunks make and put his whole face in it thinking he would catch them.  If I ever won the lotto I would purchase a farm and have rescue dogs and give them the life they deserve :)

I love huskies!
But will not have one because I live in Florida and I'm afraid it's too hot for them. :(
Yeah, my huskies have all done the same - sm
thing, nothing is safe from them. Our recent one grabbed the family cat once, luckily we were all there, miscommunication, someone let him in without the gate up, cat happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, dog came in, saw her and lunged. I grabbed him and pried his mouth off the cat (whose body was fully in his mouth as he grabbed her over her back). She escaped (minus several lives) with losing just a tiny tuft of fur, no blood, no cuts. But he doesn't even like small dogs....kids want to get a puppy soon but not sure if that is going to work or not. He has slowed down some now though and is almost 7 so it might work, but would have to be very careful. He is good dog though, big boy at 82 pounds, quite large for a purebred husky (not fat).
Huskies are great dogs! I have had 3 so far - sm
They love to dig, run, and jump over or under fences. They also kill every animall smaller than them if given a chance, birds, squirrels, oppossems, etc. We have our backyard fenced in so our dogs can run free. My current husky does not dig or jump (or howl, I miss that) though, but he is hindered by having only 3 legs, but he can run like the wind. My previous husky though would try to dig out on a regular basis, still have plugs all along the fence in spots where she tried to get out to chase deer or squirrels, luckily she never got out though. My Cara was a very picky eater, and our new husky, Slade, used to be too until he came to live with us (he was with my dad before). He has competition in eating now and eats every piece of his dinner now. My other dog (choc. lab) practically inhales her food and we jokingly call her Hoover, though her name is Maggie. When she is in the house we have to make sure everything is put away or she will eat it no matter where it is. Slade is better behaved but will steal food off the coffee table if left there. Huskies are great dogs though! On cold nights he does not come in on the first call though, loves to sit outside in the cold, all curled up with his nose in his bushy tail, with his beautiful blue eyes peeping out watching the yard. Just make sure he gets plenty of exercise and love and he will love you back all the way!
What I love about huskies is they can be filthy - sm
and then you look at them 30 minutes later and they are spotless. Really amazing how they can clean themselves off (or at least mine have always done this). My boy now does not get that dirty but when he does it does not last long.
Misha, talking about the huskies
My husband had said he always thought he wanted a huskey. About a week ago I told him his dream had come true. At my mailbox stood 2 beautiful huskies, 1 white with gray and 1 white with tan. Animals are not supposed to run loose in my neighborhood so figured someone's dogs, they were beautiful. Took me most of the afternoon and evening to locate their parents - someone had apparently tried to break in while people not home and let the animals out. That was the first time I had petted one and their hair is so plush. What type of work are you doing now besides MTing?
Siberian huskies, shepherd/lab, and yellow lab
:)
Siberian huskies have a life expectancy of 12-15 years.
One of my Siberians did die of a brain tumor recently at age 7. I do use Frontline here in NC. I am more suspicious of chemicals to treat lawns and gardens, however.
