The entire time i worked there, about 1 year, EVERY Transcriptionist I spoke with did nothing but complain. Not a happy camper in the bunch! everyone was sick and tired of starving to death, AND ... moonlighting on the side in order to make ends meet. Oh and dont let me get started on their treatment of the MTs during the Christmas season. Forget about Merry Christmas, not even a Happy Holidays from them. No bonus. No card. We got nothing but threatened that we had best work in order to ensure turn-around time or we would be written up. BUT .... check out the newsletter from Christmas and see how they partied with their Coding Department, taking them out to dinners, giving away T-shirts, etc. Just pisses me off to even think about it. Talk about being devalued! But if a few dollars for all the hours and flexing floats your boat, then keep on keeping on .... BUT you have been warned! just wait until something happens and you need to use some of that precious flexing for some of your personal needs and they need to have someone fill in for you. See how long the niceness and wonderfulness lasts. You sound naive, even after 20 years. Probably just grateful you can work at home. And by the way, I have been transcribing for over 28 years and truly miss the days of $1500-$2500 take-home biweekly paychecks. When everything was counted, and you could make GOOD money even at .08 cents per line. Precyse only pays for the body of the report, even though you have to verify the demographics and rightfully should be paid for it. Did you even think to question whether or not it is unfair to be paid only half for the ASR? Wonder if they are billing it for only half .... hhhhhmmmmmm!!!!!!!!In my 28 years of transcribing, I can remember being paid for everthing it takes to complete that report, in full! That is where you get screwed on your pay, and yet you insist that is bliss. Well I beg to differ, STRONGLY! Precyse certainly is lucky to have you. I just hope and pray that after the multitudes of excellent transcriptionists continue to flee by the numbers, they finally learn to appreciate the core of industry of Medical Transcriptionist .... US!
