you said it. Great work ethics these MTSOs. We should charge a retainer. That (sm)

Small MTSOs ... How much do you charge for copies and envelopes?
NEED HELP....DOC WANTS ME TO MAKE COPIES OF EVERYTHING AND ENVELOPES PLUS HE DOES NOT WANT TO PAY FOR TEMPLATES AND ASKED ME TO DROP MY RATE....WHAT TO DO??? PLEASE HELP! THANKS!
work ethics -- not just this profession
you will find there are those kind of people in any given profession. Also you never know one's background and you cannot compare apples to oranges. Providing wisdom for someone is far better and more professional and makes you the bigger person.
Also, if MTSOs want MTs who are loyal, hardworking, and take great pride in their jobs by truly ....
dedicating themselves to knowlegdge and producing correct, Grade A reports, then how about paying us as the highly-trained, skilled, hard-wokring, tecnical, workers we are....we are expected to always stay abreast of every medical procedure, drug, medical instrument, operatative procedure, and special procedures, in every specialty (especially for those of us doing acute care and surgical, also radiology/nuclear medicine), we must update references, computes, learn new platforms, train our ears to decipher the SLOPPIEST, LAZIEST, RUDEST dictating physicians, not to mention all the various dialects and accents from all over the world, have superior knowlegein grammar, punctuation, and style....there are highly-paid executives who cannot keep up with what we do, honestly. We have sold ourselves short for way too long, back when I first came home out of hospital, I was lucky to get 6.5cpl, back in 1994, doing all acute care, had 7 different hospitals, we were one of the first live systems. I was out of work, and after getting my associates, being a part of the AAMT (who never helped me personally), 28 years of in-house training, radiology, surgery, etc., it took me months to get someone to pay me what my knowlege/dedication/experience warranted, I still had MTSOs offering 6 and 7 cpl......what??? and I am an IC right now! I finally found an MTSO who is paying 12cpl, and I work my tail off for her, love the company, but I still believe by and large that we are being fed CRUMBS OFF THE TABLE. How do I know? I have a friend who has a company with 75 MTs, I see what she bills and what she pays, and I also know what other companies are making off our backs. Not all MTSOs, to be sure, but most. And remember MTSOs, a lot of us old-timers who were trained in hospital and college, are going to retire, if you want to attract really good young MTs for your company, you had better take a better look at your bottom line and what you are investing in...IMHO!
They charge you to work!
I talked to the lady from Augusta and she told me that they charge you $11 a month to use their platform, which I cannot remember the name of right now. They also charge you $2 a pay period for direct deposit. They only pay 8 cpl, but your 163 lines is going toward you paying for the use of the platform so you can receive the work plus being able to receive your direct deposit. Do they think we are CRAZY? !
What to charge for clinic work...
I was just called by a local clinic and asked to do some overflow clinic work - they are behind and are looking to hire - I'm not interested in leaving my acute care for a national, but wouldn't mind helping them out. I was asked how much to charge and I haven't any idea. Is anyone willing to share what they charge for doing clinic work? I would work at home using my own equipment.
Great pay rate on a 55 ccl, great lady to work for and work is not tough. sm
It is all IC work, although you still are expected to give a schedule if you are doing stat coverage. Only major drawback is the big wait for your first check -- almost a month from the time of your first invoice.
Good luck!
You are pathetic! I have a great life, loving family, work for a great company.
You might want to fix that.
You really don't have to shout (angry person), but yes you are wrong!!
That is my last word to you!
I will add that getting a great pay check every other Friday from Medware really puts a huge smile on my face.
YOG - Lots of work, great office staff, great money. NM
.
footnote, its not what they charge, it is how they charge --
I would love to see a more fair process for all, as in easily checked and verified. No option of software...calibration...on any side, be it client, mtso, mt.
but if VBC - I'm gonna want more money per line.
All MTSOs will be out of work at
You should get a part time IC positions to fill in for when there is no work at your primary employer. Do you think that there is an MTSO who is loaded with tons of work 365 days a year. IT DOES NOT EXIST. There is no such animal.
If MTs did the work the way that they should, the MTSOs would not need sm
to assign the work. I have 8 accounts. 5 work fine with everyone doing first in, first out. 2 have to be assigned or everyone cherry-picks. The last one is assigned by the hospital because they have seen too many MTs cherry pick.
It's a great company -- lots of work and great pay. sm
Web site is www.mditrans.net. If you need anymore info, feel free to ask.
I work in QA and have this question for MTSOs
Pray tell why DO you pay these people who get paid the same amount of money to type a lot blanks for QA to fill in - as you pay the best MTs that we never hear a peep out of?
How can a person who obviously either doesn't know the terminology or is not resourceful enough to investigate - be worth the same amount of money as your top MTs?
I don't get that at all.
MTSOs - Why work pools? - sm
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't it be more feasible to assign exclusive doctors to MTs, rather than have everyone type out of a pool?
Would it not be better for the client, as well as the MT, to eliminate the pools? Would it not result in higher production because of familiarity and eliminate cherry picking?
Any thoughts out there on this?
speaking of ethics
Can someone tell me how they would handle a situation in which the TASP you are typing on is also an MTSO. I was told initially they were not a transcription company, and later found out (thank you internet) they are indeed. I would like to keep competition close, but that is pushing it.
They offshore and lie about it, their ethics
don't exist, no DD unless they changed it again. I don't know anything about the radiology account though.
Sounds like she has the same ethics as a -
manager I once had. She'd disappear into her office for hours at a time, and behind her locked doors it turned out she had quite the little ebay business going. Never lifted a finger, otherwise. I was so glad to hear she finally lost her job.
What MTSOs are running out of work right now? Are you allowed
nm
MTSOs need to know the work is going to be done consistently. Not just when someone feels like
:+
Thanks for the morning lesson on ethics.
n/m
There's no law against that, goodness. Poor ethics but
??
What happened to loyalty and ethics?
You sold out! You are a coward and you are weak. You are also a thief.
Question on Ethics on this Company
sincere question, not busting or kidding here. Is it legal for an MTSO to come on here and either start a thread praising their company, but pretending they are just an MT, or, is it legal for an MTSO or upper management to come on here and reply to posts asking questions of a company, again pretending they are just the MTs and giving their -- honest -- praises for a company. I ask this because I know for a fact that there is a current thread on here where this is happening, and I suspect it happens more than we all could guess. The problem I have with it is that this particular company keeps getting painted as a dream place to work, and NOT by the MTs, when it is a true nightmare in reality. So victim after victim after victim, including me, fall for these lies, which is truly what they are. I know this is not ethical, but not much we can do with MTSOs and ethics these days. I know MTs can be threatened by MTSOs never to post something negative on here, for fear of repercussions, libel, slander, etc. But what about the shoe on the other foot? If we know that a company is on here posing as an MT and lying right thru their teeth, or keys, can they get in trouble for it? Because I for sure would love to pursue this on at least the company where I know for a fact this is standard protocol. Is there any monitoring agency or licensing agency or anyone who we could formally complain to about these practices, as to me its true fraud. Any ideas? The MTs need all the help we can get making informed HONEST decisions, and this lying garbage has got to stop.
Ethics? On an anonymous forum? (sm)
It's too much to hope for wanting people to be ethical on an anonymous forum. Just take everything you read with a grain of salt and post what you know to be the truth whenever you see flagrant bull being posted by unscrupulous people. Unfortunately, that's about all you can do. People do unethical stuff all the time in business. Sad but true.
It is a matter of ethics. I have been offered multiple jobs the last
year and have turned them all down because they offshore. I stayed where I am because they didn't offshore. TAT was a problem and I was getting weary of having to work every weekend, even though I did my lines during the week and then some, but I have days where I'm short 300-400 lines. Do you think they got qualified MTs by going to India? I have done QA on a trial basis on offshore work and I have seen the quality that comes from there. If they are going to have to do 100% QA, they can't they do a mentoring program or take a newbie fresh out of school? I've quit at least one job (non-MT) due to the unethical practices of a company.
100,000/year - no way. I charge $35/hour and work 10 hour days - sm
AND I DO NOT CLEAR $100,000/YEAR.
what's not to believe - I said that I charge $35/hour and work 10 hour days AND DO NOT MAKE - sm
I DO NOT MAKE $100,000/YEAR
try READING the post.
This is completely backwards from applicant ethics taught in business school. (sm)
This was long before on-line applications were possible, but tradionally, applicants courteously follow procedures outlined by hiring company. Then you have a chance to ask your questions. And teachers advised you to have serious, respectable, and not focus too much on money or benefit issues until the employer reached the stage where they knew they were interested in you. Only then could you get into very polite, carefully worded money negotiations.
2 small MTSOs, IC, work 8-10 q.d. ~6 days a week, ave 2000-2300 biweekly, 10 yrs exp. 0.06gross and

Great people to work for, but I had to leave due to lack of work. Hopefully that has changed. SM
Most of us who do not live in California had to go IC. When I was there, they did not have statutory status, although they told me they did when they hired me. Their pay for VR is VERY low, not a living wage. Many of the folks in the office are ex-YOG and great to work for/with. Good luck.
1200 lines daily is great if you have the work, personally, I never had enough work so
I left and have NEVER been sorry!
Webmedx fits that bill, great company, great benefits, great pay and always on time. NM
,
Great place to work. LOTs of work and (sm)
as the other poster noted, somewhat flexible. Make your lines and they pretty much leave you be. Communication is great, QA is great. The platform is extremely easy. There's plenty of work to go around and then some.
Great company, great boss, great account!!!nm
x
10 cpl? That's great. And I'd rather have too much work...sm
than to run out of work. I'd gladly work weekends to make 10 CPL.
It's great you are doing so well. Are you doing all work
nm
I work there now and they are great. sm
Pay is always accurate, on time thru direct deposit. Emdat is a little strange to get used to, but not that bad. I think they'd like 300 lines a day minimum, but you need to check on that. Its 150 LPH required though. Hours are flexible as long as you tell them what you want and stick to it. They are wonderful ladies and I'd never leave if I didn't have to due to tax issues in my state. Give them a try.
And they are GREAT to work for! nm

No, she is GREAT to work for...sm
GREAT dictators, but just not enough work, unfortunately.
Great place to work!
I came to Phoenix after having worked at the 2 large nationals over the past 4 years. I'm SO glad! The do not pay for spaces but the headers/footers more than make up for that. The work is steady, same account (or accounts) and never runs out. The staff are great to work with, helpful and very thoughtful. Great place to work!
Great company to work for...
Spheris is a terrific company to work for. They NEVER run out of work. They are extremely helpful. You use their computer set up. Direct deposit. Shifts you want. Need I say more? Oh, yes, the people there are terrific.
Ex-Spheris employee - hope to go back some day.
GREAT company to work for.
Hi, I have been an employee with them for almost one year. I have NEVER had a late pay day, it is always on time. The work is plentiful. In fact, for several months they have been BEGGING for extra help to stay in the TAT. They do have some difficult accounts, many that are ESL dictators, but once you get them - you get them - and they become like second nature to you. They have employee status if you make a certain amount of lines every two weeks or you can be IC. They are very thoughtful and nice people. I don't believe they offshore, not 100% sure though. I am happy to have found my home after two other internet company let-downs. Hope this help. But, really, you cannot go wrong with FutureNet. And, their platform is the best! Easy to work without putting in a lot of time for the demographics, etc.
Great place to work
Wonderful people, great software, sound quality excellent, benefits affordable, don't really noticed the ESLs, maybe because I'm used to them, or maybe depends on the account. Pay average.
Great company to work for!
I have worked for them for over six years and they are a wonderful organization to work for - very friendly, excellent benefits and pay, and flexible schedules. You are paid every two weeks on time, like clockwork. I would highly recommend them!
They are a great group to work with and
if you are a good MT, very accommodating. Good Luck!
anyone else think this is a great company to work for?
From what i can see on the previous discussions, this is a great company to work for sounds like. Does anyone working for them right now think so?
Both are great companies to work for.
xx
Great company to work for. nm
.
Great if you want to work for free!
great company to work for
They do not provide equipment but Dell has excellent deals going on plus financing. You can get a pedal for around $50. Line rates vary dependent upon shift plus bonus quarterly.
The people are great to work with
and the pay is good and on time. I do find the work isn't as steady as I'd like though, but hey, that's the MT business, right?
