I work on an account that sounds just like the one you are on and it is horrible. After 4 months still can't get a decent line count on this account and I have several years of experience.

don't let them put you on a VA account, the account coordinator is vicious! Their QA manager and staff are also unqualified. I have given notice and will be out of there soon. Honestly, you can do better. Keep looking!

as well as in-hospital (or even corporate setting) from my experience. THE MOST DIFFICULT, CRAPPY WORK WILL ALWAYS BE ASSIGNED TO THE MOST COMPETENT WORKER. Ask me if this is fair. Ask me if the difficult work by the most competent worker will be compensated accordingly. Ask me if this is going to change. If you are in a position to confront management about it (i.e., other options) I would, since this is affecting your livelihood, while newbies seem to get a free ride. If not, try to stick it out and start looking.

Sorry you are going through this. I know when I worked in HR at a bank we absolutely would not consider anyone no matter how nice their resume if they had filed for bankruptcy or even had a bill more than 30 days late. You may want to consider another alternative. Best wishes to you.
Yep, it will eventually happen; just don't be stupid like I was and train them to do YOUR work.
You will eventually knock yourself out of your job if you allow it. Don't agree to it, don't allow it, and don't train ANYONE not even a backup MT, and most importantly DO NOT edit. Once they get it down, bye bye to you it will be.
Good luck to anyone going through this with Medware. I feel for you as this happened to me in the past as well back when I made real good money and cannot ever make that now.

They are a very good company, I started out part-time and then went to full-time. Good benefits, direct deposit and steady work. Don't know too much about Spheris but I am quite happy with Medware. Good luck to you.

and absolutely LOVE it! They do match a percentage on 401k. I also think it depends on the Team Leader regarding holidays. Everything is negotiable. I always have work, and the Team Leaders I have are great! You also have to kind of take what you hear on this board (or most) at times with a grain of salt because as you said, there are lovers and haters of MOST companies, but what one person may hate, another may love. This is only my second MT job, and I believe I will be retiring with this one. I have been one of the lucky ones to have only worked for 2 companies. The first one I worked as an IC, and I would still be there, but needed an employee position with bennies and other perks such as sick leave, vacation, etc. when my hubby got laid off from his job. I have to say that I could not have chosen a better company to work for, and I too was skeptical at first. You just need to ask questions and make sure ANY job is the right one for you. They are about the same benefit wise and such, but was wondering how they differ as far as management, work load, platform, etc. Also, am just taking general comments on both companies - good or bad. They were a very good change for me also. The benefits are good. My team leaders are GREAT. I could NOT have picked a better place to work. They DEFINITELY are a GREAT company to work for, and I too have been VERY happy there!

I work for MedWare part-time.
I am happy MedWare. Theyis flexible though you do have to do a stick to a schedule. However, I have never had a problem with getting time off when I wanted. They have plenty of work for us to do. Pay is on time. The Merit platform is user friendly though I liked Dictaphone better. So far, I have had a nice group of people to work with.
I believe the pay is low but I have applied to 3 other nationals and they have not offered anything better. I hope that helps.

I am impressed. I get quick responses from my supervisor. The Merit runs real smooth on my computer. We have lots of work. This week it is a little slow as compared to last week but enough to keep us busy during our shift. Usually by weekends though we are swamped. I do think the pay is a little low but for me it is worth it not to have to drive in-house.
I have never worked for Diskriter. The benifit package looks wonderful.

I have no complaints. I have worked since December. Last week the account I was on ran out of work. They say that doesn't happen very often. The week before that we had too much work to do. Anyway, the pay is a little low but probably average in this business anymore. I use the Merit platform. It is easy to learn but I don't like the word processor part. It is like a glorified note pad. Schedules are flexible. I have not yet had any problem getting off when I needed it.

We were told so many lies by the woman who owned our company, who stayed to run it after she sold it. And the lies told by the company who bought the company were just outrageous. I never would have believed this could have happened, or that the former owner would have become so dishonest and manipulative. It was to the point where no one in the company trusted people we'd known and worked with for years. It was really awful and it can happen in any company. I hope it doesn't happen to you at Heartland but look at what's gone on there in the past few years. How much turnover has there been in upper management? If the president, who founded the company, was fired, why do you think anyone at the parent company cares about you? They care about one thing and that is $$$$$$$$$.

That did happen....
.....at the end of 2004 into 2005 that did happen with my company. It was not an issue of the company not being able to pay, they were trying to get set up with direct deposit at the time. I was a fairly new employee and my first check arrived without problem. My second and third ones did not arrive but when I brought it to their attention, they immediately wired the money to me. Once all the paperwork and computer set up was taken care of for direct deposit, we've had no trouble since. I was rather upset and concerned at the time too, but the people were so down to earth and kind I just knew they would make it right and they did.

Unfortunately, what seems to happen
on these boards is that certain people feel that it is their way or no way. We are all entitled to post our opinion about a company. I personally would prefer to hear all of the comments, good and bad. I won't base my decisions on what others say but will certainly pay attention to what is said. There is no point in any one getting offensive. If you don't like what is said about your company, then don't read it, but just because you don't like it does not mean that it is a false statement. We each have the right to express our opinion on this board; that's what we do and there is nothing preventing you from not reading it. There is no point in beating the issue to death.

When I was there they only had one plan that was hugely expensive and no one bothered to ask if you wanted to sign up, although perhaps they assumed (rightly so in my case as a newbie) that one would not be able to make the minimum lines in 30 days.
How did that happen?
