TransHealth has 6 paid holidays in addition to PTO and sick pay for fulltimers. nm
What I mean is, to be paid for holidays, even if you dont work. Major holidays.
Sorry. What I mean is, to be paid for holidays, even if you dont work. Major holidays.
Are your holidays paid or do you have to use PTO?
Because that makes a big difference in how many days off are paid for.
Holidays at WMX are paid...
You don't need to use your PTO. I started at WMX one year ago and the PTO for the first year is actually 3 days (24 hours); at least that is what it was when I started. Don't know if they changed that. After first year, it becomes 10 days (80 hours).
Yeah...well, this butt wouldn't go in that seat!

TransHealth has paid holidays. nm
Looking for paid holidays with a company. n/m
c
Where holidays were not paid, so I did not know to question that when
it states 6 holidays. Then you have to choose 2 or 3 of those 6 that you will work. Sorry, but there are things that we just don't think to question.
In regards to the paycheck deduction for health, life, dental and vision from each paycheck, my totals $100.00 per pay period for employee only -- then the computer rental fee of 9.23 per pay period.
Then the shift differential is what is not really worth it for working nights, and then no differential for working weekends at all! Oh, well, gotta keep on . being thank for my job.
You do not get paid for holidays unless you work them. sm
You do have to work 3 of the 6 recognized holidays. One of those has to be either Christmas or Thanksgiving. If you work Christmas one year, the next you have to work Thanksgiving. If you do not work on the holiday, you have to use PTO if you want to be paid.
Also 6 paid holidays, good ...
incentive pay, great supervisors. As a single, i pay $83 per pay period for the BC/BS, dental, vision. I haven't had a problem with not enough work. There are a lot of ESL dictators though.
Just found out we at TransTech do not get paid for holidays.
That is the first company I have worked for that did not pay for holidays that they offered as a holiday. Surprise to me!
Do any of you work for a company that pays for the holidays they offer. I believe the BIG ones MQ and Spheris pay for holidays. Are there other companies out there that pay for holidays? Thanks.
They give ,more paid holidays to India though
That's right - they give more paid holidays (going by whatever the Indian culture considers holy/holidays), company parties and better equipment to their ever-growing Indian staff. So if you moved to India you might get a better deal from them.
P.S. I am full-time too and they have paid holidays. (nm)

Does Medscribe FL offer paid holidays?
I am just curious as I am considering leaving another national due to lack of work
Who gets paid holidays & maternity leave? I'm an IC nm

was Easter one of the paid holidays with Webmedx? nm
.
PTO, sick pay, paid holidays, benefits include...sm
Medical, dental, vision, drug coverage. Great company. I like my accounts. Plenty of work.
TransHealth has paid holidays for full timers. nm
You only get 3 holidays OFF per year. PTO is paid at a very low rate. There is 401k...sm
But the company match is only up to 2%. Employees are required to work at least 1 weekend day every week.
All of the hospitals/clinics have a lot of ESLs, that's just the way it is. But a lot of them also use canned normals, which we love.
There's a lot more to consider than how much the medical plan costs.
Basically what it means is OSI is eliminating paid holidays
OSI has no sick pay at all. You have to use your measly PTO for any time off, and it is the worst PTO I have ever seen. My teenage daughter has more PTO from a pizza joint... yep its the truth. So now basically no paid holidays for the majority of the employees. This sux big time.
I'd rather have my 6 paid holidays and nice PTO package at Webmedx sm
than any gift, anyway.
If they paid MTs better, they wouldn't have to pay
TransHealth has great benefits, PTO, paid holidays for fulltimers. nm
NO paid holidays for us all year round. If there is any work on the holiday, you get
lines and a half, but usually there is no work. They usually clear out the work before the holiday so there is no 1-1/2 line pay remaining. Transtech names 6 holidays each year, but the MT takes those holidays off WITHOUT pay. I am sure the office staff and all other non-MT staff take off WITHOUT pay, too, aren't you???? LOL
Which MT companies DO pay an MT for holidays. I don't consider a day a HOLIDAY unless it is PAID. They can call it 6 holdays, but have to take off without pay . . . . just another day, i.e, get sick -- NO PAY.
Me too, although I wouldn't have objected if I had been paid today. :-) sm
Tuesday seems like a long time away ... waaaaah ... lol
Webmedx has 6 paid holidays a year, separate from PTO, for full time employees.

I wouldn't personally want to be paid that way, but I've heard
of people that have and they didn't seem to mind. I guess it really depends on how much per page. I remember when it was $1. I think it's $2 now so if you do say 1-1/4 pages and get $4 for it, I'd say that's good. But you still only get $4 even if it's 2 full pages. Of course it depends too on the font size they use. That's why I'd rather just get a line rate. Or they might also pay you 1/4 the rate of 1 page if that's all you type. There's a lot of if's. You need to ask questions.
name calling - how classy - NOT!!! Wouldn't hire ya if I got paid!!
x
Yeah but we aren't doctors and we don't get paid a lot so there nm
mmmldskfjsladkjaf
Yeah, if you want to look up demographics that are impossible to understand, & get paid for
If you don't mind being nit-picked to death and QA'd into the ozone, go for it.
Yeah, be careful. I worked for MTSO that "said" they paid for spaces. I had to work really S
hard for my lines. Took a second job part-time with hospital, same platform (EXText), same font size, etc. and did the same amount of lines in half the time. Decided to look closer at the MTSO and found out they weren't counting spaces. I confronted them and all of sudden. Got lots of apologies and will add to your next paycheck. Long story short, never happened and I never had any work after that.
There are a lot of unscrupulous MTSOs out there. They lie, cheat, and steal!
Very few MTSOs pay for holidays. Some give you 6 days you can use for holidays or regular PTO, but
x
You have to work 3 of the big 6 holidays. For those that you work, you are paid
time and a half. For those that you do not work, you can either get paid by using PTO or they are treated like normal days off (for which you are not paid). Sometimes, they will even pay double time for the big holidays if there is a lot of work on the system. I've found them to be exceedingly fair.
Holidays - Is there any company who pays holidays?
Are there companies (like in the old days) who pay you for Christmas, NY, Thanksgiving, etc., MAJOR HOLIDAYS?
In addition (sm)
TRS is one of the worst companies for scheduling -- they expect you in your seat, emailing if you leave it for 15 minutes (and the emails go to all your coworkers, not just your supv). Supposedly there is a 12-hour window in which to do one's 8 hours, but this varies by account: my friend's account required a very strict 8-hour shift with no variations, but there was never enough work, so she ended up working 12 hours to make her line counts. Frequent platform crashes also impacted her work flow.
But don't you think in addition to
the fines the employer pays, the IC will have to go back and re-file all past tax returns? There are going to be implications for taxes on both parties. You have to file a form SS-8 with the IRS about why YOU think YOU are an employee and not an IC. It is done on a case-by-case basis and you have to sign the form. The MTSO will then have to respond to the inquiry and the IRS may or MAY NOT think the IC is an employee. Either way, you are without a job.
In addition, they want to do an 'FBI'
I think this is ludicrous. All of that paperwork so they can check into every little detail of your past so you can work in your house. I said forget it.
Addition to resume
Hi Mari,
Well said! I'm going to include your first paragraph on mine and see what they think!
Wow, in addition to your check?
That sounds like a sweet deal.
I have a question in addition to the OP's
I'm thinking about purchasing Stedman's spellchecker. Does anyone else use their personal spellchecker with Bayscribe. If so, does it work well with it and which one do you use?
I'm also thinking about purchasing my own personal Expander at the same time. I'm looking at InstaText. Any comments on it?
To the OP: All transitions are uncomfortable at first, but don't give up. I've only been with them a couple of months, but I like it. As for getting my line counts, I'm up to 1000 lines a day. It takes me a little longer than it did at my other job - but my other job used voice recognition, which helped a lot but paid less. I'm also doublechecking my reports before I send them in because I was told the account I'm on is scrutinized very closely. As I said above, I'm looking into my own expander and spellcheck software. I've had a few spelling errors that the spellcheck didn't catch. But at least you can add those in the expander to spell correctly. The people at the company are great and QA staff is wonderful. They treat like humans, not machines or numbers. Good luck. Feel free to email me if you want.
Wonderful addition -sm
Thank you for adding it to the list. The two of you need to represent all of us. How about forming a union? I'll join. Just tell me when and where to sign up. Thanks again!!
Agree 200%!! In addition,---sm
Exploitation is nothing new in the home MT business, but I think that since our economy has taken such a nosedive recently, a lot of companies are using this to their advantage and pushing it to the limit. Their attitude is, LUCKY YOU HAVE A JOB, SO LIKE IT OR LUMP IT. My response to them would be, AND YOU'RE JUST AS LUCKY TO HAVE A JOB (TO THE MTSOs) AS WE ARE. Would the companies have been able to push this VR fiasco on us before, before the market took a nosedive? I doubt it, but they thrive on the desperation of many MTs who have no other options at this point.
Any relationship, busines or personal, thrives on old-fashioned give-and-take. MTSOs need to realize they can't just TAKE and TAKE and TAKE and TAKE indefinitely.
I wish people wouldn't be so encouraging. Then maybe we wouldn't constantly run
.
In addition you forgot to mention...sm
that the sky is falling and we'll all lose our jobs fears were prevalent back when PCs were introduced, and we're all still working. With the government requiring more and more documentation to be made electronically there's still a ton of work to be done and no VR system is going to have it perfect, ever.
In addition to that I wonder if test files
are not a way to get some transcription done. Some of the testing is so long. I've had where the company will send practically a whole day's worth of work for testing purposes.
In addition, all kinds of innuendos .sm
by them (i.e., sexual; suicide, etc) before any sort of investigation, autopsy, or in short, before they know the facts.
Hats off to his brother, Keith, for demanding an FBI investigation.
Do you mean in addition to your reg Friday work? When do they give it to you?
nm
one of MANY reasons, in addition to living expense,
NM
TransTech does - Hourly in addition to line rate
/
That would be an extra 50 to 100 dollars in addition to lines and a half. nm
nm
I currently do this kind of work in addition to my medical accounts...sm
The rate seems pretty low, at least compared to what I make, and I can tell you from my experience with this type of work, it is very tedious. Expanders aren't nearly as helpful as in medical transcription, so it's pretty much straight typing. On the other hand it is a nice change of pace from the medical aspect, but for what they want to pay, probably best suited to a newbie.
