You bill 30 days behind, and they snail mail it so it's late - about 40 days from invoice
No way jose - they even messed up their direct deposit payments
companies paying late
Why do some companies have to wait one month to pay you and other companies can pay you 3-4 days after you submit payroll? I will and won't ever get that. All I know is you are supposed to get paid the 1st and 15th or every other week, unless the pay day falls on a Saturday or Sunday the check should be in your direct deposit in your bank, no excuses. I have worked for small companies and larger nationals and it just imazes me how one will pay on time and the other will not and always will come up with one excuse after another. But, if you bounce checks because of late pay that you are supposed to get a certain date that does not help either. I guess it all depends on who does the bookkeeping/records/payroll huh? We all work too hard to get late paychecks and it is not fair to any of us.
All you said was about paying in Canadian and late. You couldn't have said that in your OP?
:+
I think getting a paycheck 5 days late qualifies as a problem. nm

I'm a bit late in chiming in, but congrats on your new job. I think KS is great! sm
The people are caring and easy to work with, and you feel like you matter, not just some insignificant cog in a wheel. I don't have to have someone hold my hand and give me attaboys all day, but it is nice to know that things are recognized and appreciated. I used to read on the board and think probably people were blowing smoke when they went on about how terrific Keystrokes is, but I have to agree -- they are wonderful people.
Good luck!
For real??? I have never heard of paying
for QA's time. No way would I work somewhere like that.
No pay. No work. Plain and simple. I have never heard of not paying before during training. You can
bet they are getting paid by their client on the job that YOU did. How cheap can you get. RED FLAG..RED FLAG.. run.. run fast.
That''s great and I've heard they pay great as well.
I just have heard a lot of adjectives for a few accounts - zinger, killer, impossible, etc., and I sure know I couldn't hack it there. But I'm sure they know what they are getting into when they sign up.
Never heard of it, my contract says 10 days.
x
I heard back within 3 or 4 days...
and other than low pay, it is indeed a great place to work! They do give quarterly bonuses which helps a bit to cushion the 7 cpl (for clinic work). Good luck.
I heard back from her in 3 days
I tested and was asked to interview 3 days after my test. I accepted the position and then received my acceptance later 2 days later. If it's been 3 days, I would probably write and ask about the status of your application. She is pleasant and answered my emails in a very timely manner, which was nice.
Great advice. Is people stop working for them, maybe they will start paying attention. I wonder if .
their clients know they do not pay their MTs to do the work. You can bet that Rapid Transcript is getting paid by the client. What a ripoff. Just the fact that they have an F rating by the BBB woudl be enough of a turn-off for me. Crappy business practices.
4 days since submitting resume - have heard nothing
nm
Thanks -- that does help! That is great ... some make you wait 90 days. nm
x
I sent it in the first day, heard back in a few days, took the test and started last week. sm
I know that they are very busy and it sounds like they are getting even busier. It took about a week after I took the test to hear, but I was told there were over 100 people taking tests and they were picking the best scores.
Still not great PTO for first year. I get 12 days at current company. NM
NM
Not me, not a problem at all. Enterprise has been working GREAT these days. nm

Tested there 10 days ago and never heard a word back..guess I failed! nm
nm
Just heard from them....pay not great.

Because of all the great things I have heard here - sm
I just finished filling out my paperwork for Futurenet. I have been looking for 3 months, contemplated many offers and turned down many offers. I think this is just what I am looking for.
The autocorrect that you use - is this the feature that is in the word program? I was told that there is a word Expander in their program. Do they mean Autotext? If so, is it easy to use? Thanks!
I heard great things too
which is why I am so hesitant to even consider looking elsewhere. Hope we hear something tomorrow. Feel free to email if you find out anything.
I had heard so many great things about KS too, though
it was mainly only a couple of MTs that posted. I want to do more than be an MT and I thought KS would be a good company that I could advance with.
It just did not turn out to be a good experience for me. They talked a good talk, but they never followed through with the raises or anything else. I never ever got paid for OT, yet was asked to work extra during my work days and asked to work on my scheduled days off. I worked because I needed the money, but 8 cpl just wasn't worth it. I also had a lead that wasn't very good and you might as well have talked to the wall.
I think there are worse companies out there and if you are coming from MQ they might seem pretty good. If you go back and reread your post it sounds like it is a no brainer.
That is what I just said. !0 days PTO, period. That includes vacation, sick days and personal days
They should have paid holidays so that you are paid if you take off. Also should inculde extra hours for sick days and personal days.
That annual raise of .002 is kind of a joke especially when at the same time they upped the minimum line requirement from 10,000 lines to 12,000 lines.
OSi just does not have the qualified people in management positions that I wish to work for.
I am glad that you are happy at OSi and all is working out for you. Their dishonesty and the way they treat people just does not work for me.
Of course they can get by cheaply by hiring unqualified people so that is very good for the owners.
I've heard the pay isn't that great, nice people tho. NM

Too little, too late? It is never too late. I am one person, true, but together
Let me tell what this ONE person achieved on her own and then you can imagine what many of us can do if we stand together.
Two years ago, I was working as an MT for a local hospital. One day, we were told that our overflow was going to be outsourced to one of the nationals, just the discharge summaries and not even all of those. Two months after they told us that lie, they called is in one by one and fired us because they were outsourcing the entire dept because it was cost effective. The service they were using was a very large national who I happened to know had a reputation of offshoring. And I just knew because our little hospital had easy as pie dictators with maybe 4 out of a staff of 200 that were ESL, our work would most definitely be one of the accounts offshored.
I was angry! Oh, they offered us jobs at the service and told us we would definitely be working on our hospital, but I'm no fool and I knew it would be a matter of time before we were forced to take secondary accounts which would eventually become our primary accounts and our little hospital would just disappear from our queues.
I refused the job with the service on moral grounds. I refused to work for a company that offshored. And then I decided to channel my anger and outrage into something proactive. I wrote letters to every newspaper in my area. Every small farming community newspaper this hospital served, and the big city newspaper in the big city close by. I never dreamed that anyone would pay attention at one woman's rantings. But a funny thing happened. My letter was printed in more than one of the papers I sent it to, and reporter from one of the larger newspapers called me and asked if I would do an interview. I said absolutely.
Long story short, they did the interview and then interviewed the administrator of the hospital. They put him in the hot seat and asked him about offshoring health information to India. He had no definitive answers to give except that he would have to look at the contract and make sure that it was stipulated that his hospital's work was not sent over seas.
It was a small triumph, but I took some satisfaction in it. Two weeks after that and just when I thought all the hoopla had died on my little letter, another letter appeared in the newspaper -- from an HIM director at another local hospital who said as a result of reading my letter and interview, that she had received a number of calls from concerned people asking if their medical information was being sent and transcribed overseas. She wanted to write the letter just to set the record straight that her hospital employed their own MTs and did not outsource to a service nor did they offshore any of their work to third-world countries.
And I'm still not done. Still a few weeks later another letter in the big city paper was printed from another HIM director assuring the community that her hospital employed its own American MTs and did not outsource or offshore.
Now, everything has quieted down since then, but I managed to ruffle some feathers and make a point, and if I (one person, one middle-aged work-at-home mother of two) can cause that much ruckus -- think what a whole bunch of us can do.
I think we, as a group, need to take control of our industry and our career destiny and do something. Maybe march on Washington DC protesting the offshoring of American jobs -- not just ours, but ALL American jobs that are being offshored. There are more Americans out of work and losing work to third-world countries and corporate greed than just MTs! Our government needs to hear our voices! We need to MAKE ourselves be heard!
Instead of sitting back and pasting little smiley faces in our posts and saying good luck with that we need to come together. There is no room for MTs willing to accept lower wages, no room for MTs whose hearts bleed for our third-world counterparts, and no room for MTs who want to sit back and do nothing, but reap the benefits when the strong win the battle. We've reached a critical turning point and it's time to take up the cause and change the future.
When I am renting, I am PAYING; when I'm working, THEY are paying ME. sm
Seems I should be running a credit check on the potential employer to see if THEY are responsible with their money, not the other way around.
Webmedx fits that bill, great company, great benefits, great pay and always on time. NM

Maybe she/he works 14 hour days/7 days a week? nm

you will be hired eventually, then wait at least 3 months if lucky to be put to work. When and if run out of work they will immediately give you a secondary account because they have so many and that might happen within another 3 months....so, if you need a job and $$ income....might want something more dependable. Unbelievable, and not a disgundled person, just stating the facts. They always hire it seems. Just getting to work is not for one really looking for a job right away.

Need information on X-Press. I found some archived comments about them, but would like something more recent. Anyone work there? Used to work there? Hate it? Love it? Pay, etc. Thanks for your help.
X-Press
Always weigh the information you receive from MTStars. If you hear bad reviews, make sure they can back it up, as well as the good ones. Best of luck!
??? X-PRESS???
Anyone working for this company? I checked out their website but wanted to hear from present or past employees. Anybody? If you have info good or bad would appreciate it. TIA.

Thank you all!!! You saved me a lot of time and effort. THANKS!!

MQ pays per report. How does x-press per line rate compare with MQ per report rate?
X-Press
Worked a while with X-Press. Some say the testing is tough. That is because main account is tough, which is why they pay more, too. So many dictators (all students) you cannot macro or shortcut much of anything, hence a slow account and not exactly a money maker.
As for Mr. David, with every volume slam came 2- to 3-page emails of screaming and fuming over the account falling behind and how 'bad' and 'inconsiderate' we were professionally; threats of overhiring with 'girls who will work and appreciate it,'...yawn. Stange is right, the next morning - a long apology with praise. The man cannot handle stress and he's working in transcription! You learned to blow the behavior off because it was abusive and, well, hurtful. Added up to both he and the account not worth the effort it took to get through the day.
My experience, a pressure cooker.
How big is X-Press? No one seems to know. nm

x-press transcription...
in a post last year, a lot of us stated that we didnt pass their test. they send you an email asking what kind of tape you would like to test on (standard or micro). you receive instructions and sample formats with this tape.
most of us received our results between a few days and 3 weeks. a lot of us failed the test (in the instructions, it is stated that they purposely picked dictations that were undesireable). sure enough, a lot of us failed, but you are able to test again after 6 months.
someone did post that if you do get hired, you are required to purchase expensive equipment, and work is always low.
sorry, i dont know anything about the pay.
X-PRESS TRANSCRIPTION
I've worked for X-press Transcription for 10 years now... They are awesome! I've been on only one account for the entire 10 years. They pay by the line, they ALWAYS pay on time and we have direct deposit. I have nothing but great things to say about X-press. But they do wan't very experienced Radiology Transcriptionists only.
RE: X-Press Transcription
I was wondering if you could give me any information on how they test potential employees to see if they qualify to work for them? I have been in medical transcription for 10 years of which approximately 6 or more years of that has been in radiology. I am very confident in my abilities but get very nervous when it comes to interviews and testing for a new company. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I work for X-press
I have worked for them for a little over two years now. They only hire the best of the best. The downside is no benefits whatsoever. I work part-time. I made just shy of $30,000 in 2005. They have a good reputation as far as their workers go. I thought the test was easy. I was contacted shortly after I sent my test back in and was hired on the spot.
