So LEAVE ALREADY. nm
I will leave it, thank you very much
through these 2 rotten companies, I finally have found a good company, one that appreciates my work (which is very good) and one that does not lie to me or steal lines!!! So take that!!
Why did you leave?
Or do you still work for them? I had the same experience - just sent my paperwork back, but haven't heard anything, including training date, etc.
Leave it alone. I(SM)
If you don't like what they posted, that's fine. You have no right whatsoever to harass them for it and yes, that is exactly what you were doing.

leave your job
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, don't do it!:)
see below, and please leave me alone, if you have nothing
meaningful or thoughtful to post.
Thank you.
Why did I leave? SM
1. Lack of tech support. Computer once was down for 3 days before tech support finally got in touch with me -- despite my leaving 2 messages.
2. Cut in pay for ASR work. Line rates for ASR work were reduced by approximately 50% compared to straight transcription line rate. PTO accrual rate also almost cut by 50%.
3. Lack of communication. E-mails, not always but occasionally, will never be answered. I figured out this usually happens when they don't know the answer and don't want to admit they don't.
4. Nasty people at the Help Desk. You are required to have your IM turned on while working. If Help Desk needs a stat done, they can get very nasty with you if you don't get it done in what they feel is a timely fashion, its the end of your shift, or for some reason it doesn't fall into your cue.

Please don't leave
We are not all malcontents. I, too, have worked for different hospitals and understand your reasoning. Hang in there - some of us don't blast (at least not very often).
leave
By staying there you are giving them life. Quit now. Anyone who works under those conditions can only blame themselves. Companies can't **** employees like garbage if there are no employees.
let's all leave
Okay all you TTers, let's leave this board for good. We know we have a good thing at TT.

Why did you leave?
Just wondering if you don't mind...
You can always leave
Some of us like our jobs. And I'm not the only rah-rah.
And for your information I don't get paid anything extra. I'm just not as jaded. Sorry 'bout your luck.
BTW...
It's funny how much you'll talk about the company and the director without putting your name. Bet you wouldn't say the same thing if we we're in an office where there was a face with those comments!
I would not leave
I work for a small company as an IC. The company knows IC means I work when I can or want to. I have no set schedule. That is #1 importance to me. But aside from that, the account I work on is really nice. I have run out of work on occasion, but it is not a regular thing and seems to happen mostly when someone new is hired. The new people seem to go in and work around the clock, taking work from those of us who have been there longer and tending to be the cherry pickers, which annoys me somewhat, but that usually dies down within a couple of weeks and then things get back to normal, with enough work for everyone. There are some ESL dictators but not a ton, and many of those are easily understood. The owners of the company are really easy people to work with, very understanding, etc. The pay is always on time, and I feel I earn decent pay for what I do and I feel like I am valued there. I would not leave them now or otherwise.
Now my second job is a whole different story. I work as a coder for a large hospital, and i would leave in a heartbeat if I could. I work from home and again have no set schedule but do have to work xx number of hours each week; I just pick the times to work. That is it's only advantage. The work is demanding and difficult. We get no respect for it at all. The stress is incredible as we work on a production standard that is virtually impossible to meet. We have 0, that's right 0, people in our group who meet the standard, and we have 27 coders. The expectations are unachievable, and we are constantly pressured to do more and more and more but we get less and less and less in return. Sounds familiar? However, this is the job that provides benefits for myself and my hubby, so I am stuck there for time eternal (or until Medicare kicks in for us). In my lifetime, I have always enjoyed working, but this is truly the first time I could say I hate my job and mean it wholeheartedly. That is why I feel for so many of the MTs out there who are stuck in situations that are making them miserable. Considering the amount of time an individual spends working, shouldn't we be able to feel good about what we do?
Why would you leave?
Why would you leave a perfectly good job that you like because two companied merged? Why not wait to see how it works out? I've worked for Transcend for five years and for the most part they are a good company...it would work AGAINST them to take you off your regular accts and put you on unknown accts then train people to work your accts. Their goal is to get the lines done and done well. Pay is above most companies and you do get paid for major holidays. There is PTO, benefits and 401K. Please don't do something foolish, especially in this economy.
why don't they just leave us alone to do
our job and put this wasted research money into something worthwhile?? Why don't they put it into finding a cure for cancer or something?
If YOU think you are a G.P. then YOU can leave.
matters what the person who percieves herself as a G.P. thinks, and if she WANTS to stay or go.
Please go find your new job and leave it be
I figured there would be a post on here after the forum. But let's not make it out to be more than it was. There was 1 post. That is because people's names are shown on the company forum. And on MT Stars, who knows how many posts are from the same few people. If Transcend was so bad, you would think that it would not be prospering as it is. I work there, I love it. I have had NO problems, NADA. I am not the only one either. I am sick of hearing the bashing. I am sure that there are problems there, as anywhere, but they are a good place to work and compared to some companies, a great place to work. If you want the "perfect" job, I guess you will never be happy. Sometimes you just need to be realistic and a little less spoiled.
Job offer from MDI-FL should I leave OSi for them?
By the way it's a VR job, suffering from ulnar nerve entrapment and looking for options.
Leave your e-mail here, may be able to help.. sure it is IL and not WI..nm

Why would you want to leave your IC position?
IMHO, it's better to be an IC than employee. As an employee, you still have the expenses but without being able to deduct as much on your taxes. The 2 cpl lower pay with payroll taxes held out won't make up the difference of your self-employment tax percentage (half of the SE 15.9%). I have learned that if you are basically happy where you're at, STAY THERE. The grass is not greener on the other side no matter what people say. I have bounced from company to company, IC to employee and back, etc., this past year because I can't find a good fit.
Oh they will leave you alone all right, WITHOUT WORK!
Not a very honest bunch of people who do not monitor their work flow, thus first come first serve, thus you might as well throw out their payment scale, as you have to type so much to make so much, and how can anyone do that when there is not enough work!
Did a lot of MTs leave after the holidays?
There were problems with slow/no work in the fall and earlier this month, but they were still hiring?
If you loved it, why'd you leave? nm

Maternity leave
I would imagine you would have to be employed by them for a while before they would pay you for maternity leave. I am not ragging on anyone but I don't understand how someone can expect to look to work for a new company pregnant and expect them to pay you while you are off work, how are they supposed to make any money? I can see if you have been with them for a year or so, but to me that is asking for a bit much. You could not even go to a hospital or clinic and expect that. If you had a babysitter or a nanny and after a few months they wanted 6 to 8 weeks off PAID and you had to hire someone to replace them for that time and thus had to pay double and only had your usual income, would you do that? Where are you working now, do they pay for maternity leave? Most places don't pay for it but allow you to take six weeks off but it is usually without pay unless you use all of your sick time/vacation that you have accrued. I just don't understand looking for a new company now that you are pregnant, tell me if I am wrong but that is what your post sounded like.
Maternity leave
I am NOT currently pregnant, but am planning on in the next couple of years...I don't appreciate the comment when you have not even obviously read the whole conversation. Someone else was already pregnant...NOT ME!
maternity leave
I am not necessariy looking for maternity leave...just something would be nice...
I just find it hard to believe in this day in age that some pay for having a baby is too much to ask for...just even some more PTO or STD is all I am really looking for!
Leave the language out, please. (NM)

Why did you leave and why don't you go back? I did :)
It is the best thing I did. They welcomed me back and made me feel like I had never left.
What about the fact that you don't have to leave the
I know that 8-9 cpl is a little low but when you take into account the fact that you do not have to leave your house, I think that counts for something. If you went out to work, you have the expense of gas, travel time (not paid either way), lunch (usually not paid), need to buy clothing even if that is scrubes, put on a happy face, get along well with others, and when the work runs out on-site, it is gone. There is no room to make extra. You either take time off with/without pay when in fact if you were at home and the work runs out, you have the capability to take on more work. I think this field has branched out so much. It used to be included in a medical secretary's job description and pretty much performed right in the office. That does not seem to exist any longer. More and more this profession has become an entity in and of itself as has the medical profession. There are so many specialists now. I have seen this profession evolve. I see a doctor for this and a doctor for that. It used to be see one doctor, he/she dealt with the issue, end of story. This is no longer the case. Now you see the PCP (report generated in most cases), then you see the endocrinologist (report generated), cardiologist (report generated), ophthalmologist (report generated), dermatologist (report generated) and if you make it that far the psychiatrist (report generated). I don't mean to make things light folks and I am not a TT'er, but I just see that with time things change. How often has anyone who has been doing this for more than 25 years heard or ever saw for that matter an advertisement to work at home for doctors and healthcare facilities? Make money while working from home transcribing medical reports? There was a local hotel planning an entire day to have people come and get information on being a medical transcriptionist. The entire forum would be this subject. Can you imagine the people that go to hear what they could possibly do from home and make such great money? Come one, come all. It is open to everyone. All things considered this can be a good thing. The sacred field of medical transcription has flowered, blossomed, and become a really attractive to a society that is tired of traffic, gas prices, and being under the stress of working under the bosses' supervision. Okay, I think I'm off of my now. Have a great night!
Buty WHY did you leave?
Thanks!
They leave you alone. Pay is always on time. sm
I think you will be fine with clinic notes. I think the only accounts they pay spaces for are with Emdat accounts. Do not do any acute care work without being paid for spaces.
Cant's wait to leave
Started January 2006. Pay was fair, benefits excellent. Work flow was adequate on 2nd shift but that has changed. My (2)accounts were riddled with ESL I have 31 years of experience and feel like they are punishing me for that. On the other hand, the people were really nice, communication was excellent, feedback from QA good, QA reviews fair, etc. They acquired many new accounts during that time and their projected growth for 2007 will move them from a medium size MTSO to the big leagues. By the way, we had at least 6 or 7 TMs in my 1.5 year stretch (clue #1).
I cruised through the first 8 months, constantly struggling to raise my line count to 1200 lines per day. I was beginning to get there by November (5 extra months after the expected 6-month timeframe specified in the good faith estimate). They never really said anything to me about lagging behind on that (clue #2), I thought because I worked on 2nd shift on heavy, heavy ESL accounts with good QA.
I was typing a good balanced load of 50/50 between the 2 accounts, nice variety of work types which was good for me because it kept me challenged. On a positive note, I can say that the physician samples and access to the patient and MD archives were excellent resources and helped me along the way. I had made countless macros and felt really good about it all....and then WHAM! ASR reared its ugly head!
I was not directly involved with that at first, but around that time my work pool began to take a HUGE turn south. I rarely got any jobs from my secondary account so the 50/50 disappeared. They priortized by work type whereas before I would simply get the oldest dictation next (or short TAT jobs) regardless of work type. This was the beginning of the end (clue #3). I was inundated with every kind of diagnostic test known to man (echo, TTT, EEG, EKG etc) as a first priority, followed by cardiac caths, dictated by the absolute bottom of the barrel in terms of ESLs, one American mumbler who was actually worse than the ESLs, and 2 or 3 special MDs from the God squad...you know the type...every word uttered from their mouths was STAT, no blanks allowed, 100% QA. That was the only time my secondary account would show up, delivering me the exact same scenario without exception. Inevitably, both facilities would dictate tons of caths on the same day, and it was not uncommon for me to get nothing but caths and nothing but ESLs. The macros I had worked so hard to create are now in the macro graveyard. Samples, patient and physician archives are useless with this pool. The same applied to echoes (days when I would type nothing else).
Did I mention that on 2nd shift, there was no backup for these types of reports? The whole situation was a count-killer for me. I started in January 2007 trying to get the rotating TMs to address this with me. Ignored, ignored, ignored is what I got. The last response I had could be characterized as a bald-faced lie. I was told I would get 2 additional accounts. I took the time to set up printed-out master file, staff lists, etcetera and familiarized myself with the accuonts (on my off time, I might add). That was about 5 weeks ago. So far, I have not gotten a single report from the new accounts.
In the meantime, ASR was steadily eating up all the VR-friendly dictators and the work pool kept getting seedier and seedier. When it came my turn to train for ASR, I was stunned at the micromanagement of it all. Pause time is a good example of this....you know, the time you spend doing ADT, copies, word searches and the like...suddenly was not considered realtime work. The platform kicks you off the system after a 15-minute pause, which sounds like it is fair but the reality is anything but. I received high praises for how well I was doing in training but no amount of adoration can make up for the 50+% cut in pay. Goody, goody. Type twice the amount for half the rate. I am so sure. The first couple of weeks the much-hyped training bonus ($10 a day for the first 2 pay periods, then $5 a day for the last pay period) barely raised my pay to $70/day. This is about what I was paid as a hospital employee IN 1976!!
The ad you see up there is really impressive, never mind that it will spread the work paper-thin for those already there. They have it all laid out...but beware. There are sharks in those waters.
That's why I am on the MT Daily, MT stars site, frantically sending out resumes, researching companies, setting up interviews and such. There is something OBSCENE about 0.0465 cpl for ASR. We all have to draw the line somewhere. I am drawing mine here. Taking insults like that is not in my job description. If I am not paid a living wage for ASR I will not do it. If I am not paid for spaces, I will leave them out of my reports. Rock bottom hourly wage should at the VERY LEAST net $100+ a day with good benefits that are comprehensive with affordable premiums. If I am not worth that after 31 years of experience, at age 59 I will find myself looking for a position far, far away from transcription.
I hope this will help you make a good decision. I am so outta here.
don't know, but I think it is a law they have to pay you for any unused PTO when you leave
any job.
I know 14 people who want to leave OSi
..
I'd love to leave and
am currently looking but finding it hard to find M-F part-time...which is what I do now at OSI...even though I produce enough lines to be full-time, I'm not sure I can commit to 8 hours every day...I need the lines of FT, but also need the flexibility. And to top it off, I don't have acute care experience, just radiology and clinic. I want out but am kinda stuck...but I will keep looking:)
I NEVER said I was staying or would never leave -
but my wanting to pursue other companies has nothing to do with the holiday pay policy (since I'm PT, I don't even qualify). I'm just saying, if you want to log on, get your work done, and get a steady paycheck, OSi can be that place for you - it has been for me for the past 2 years.
TIME TO LEAVE
I agree. After 22 years it is now time to get out. Where are my hip-boots when I need them.
Did you ever leave QT and are you happier now? nm

If you need to leave MQ the last place to go
You can do better. Still can't get over the numerous management e-mails that were FULL of spelling and grammar errors. They were unable to construct a sensible sentence - looked like a first grader was playing on the keyboard. Seriously. It was too ridiculous.
Anyone leave MQ for another company?
I know there was a mass exodus of MTs from MQ over the last few months. I have been trying to stick it out, but I'm not sure how long that's going to last!! There are so many pro's and con's to most companies that advertise on here.
Has anyone left MQ and regretted their decision? Is the grass really greener elsewhere, or is it all in your perspective? I have 11 years invested with this company, and I would hate to throw all that away for something that is just OK, or not even as good.
Thanks for any info, good or bad!
GB
They leave you alone and let you work....

Another reason to leave
Is just what others are saying. It takes up my entire life to try to get in 8 hours because there are a million other people working on my account. AND really I don't feel like I have a primary account, just a lot of different accounts because I get one report from each account over and over and over because everybody is trying to get their hours and lines in. It feels like MANUAL LABOR!!!!!
I can't even make plans with friends or anything because I never know when I'll get off work. At least now, I will have much more time off and a REGULAR SCHEDULE and MORE MONEY, all of the above. woooo hoooo! I really hope I never have to work for a national again. It's just not a secure feeling.
Keystrokes - anyone had to leave because of
