Just proving my point. If you expect an MT to perform at a certain standard during a verbal test, no excuses, no exceptions, then you should show that same standard everywhere you go, message boards included.

I have seen several on this board talking about this endlessly and I wonder why anyone else really cares about what others do in their work. There is always back and forth about what independents should work. Others here say they should not have certain hours to work, that makes them an employee, not an independent. Pray tell, what differences does it make to anyone except to the person working? If you are independent and you work whichever hours you work and another independent and they work certain hours only, why the big fuss? By an independent having their own set hours, does that somehow play into your normal everyday routine? I do not think so. Does your employer now tell you because others have set hours, you will have to do that also- I do not think so. If people are happy with their own job situation, why do others think they have to come here and bash them for their job ethics. I for one am tired of all the nonsense going back and forth. Leave it be. Give it a rest. Do your job and don’t worry about the next person. |

whether they refused to allow the client to push them into VR and they had to let you go or you quit because you can't support yourself on 3 cpl. Either way, guess who gets the shaft? You! I can just see it now, thread after thread here shortly about how MDI'ers are now looking for a new home because they can't support themselves. Maybe we should prepare early and create an MDI board right underneath the Medquist board.

They put my line rate in writing in my offer letter, and did a bait and switch later. Buh-bye gross line rate and accounts, hello new rate and new accounts. I did the math and it didn't come out right. I sent them email about it, and they didn't make it right. Rather than take them to court, I quit.

lots have quit working. Ran of work earlier today and there is a TON now. Looks like someone is trying to get a message across.

If anything we post here keeps someone from getting suckered by a greedy MTSO, or making a bad career mistake, its worth it! We tell the truth about non-payers, liars, scammers, and the good companies as well. This board is where company reputations are made and lost - and that is how it should be! Thank god for this board, where the truth is told and the people who are blowing sunshine up our skirts are outed!

What difference does it make who it is? He/she has some valid points. sm
While we are hashing through our own problems and such, sometimes (myself definitely included), we many times forget to consider what the other person is going through.
While the acct does make a difference, the drop in pay
will make it difficult for anyone who has been a speedy MT to make nearly the same amount of mone. It appears to me that their goal is to put all employees in the $30-35K per year range. That's not good enough for me.
I should have listened to the warnings last year on this board last year, but that's okay - I've learned my lesson and will be starting next week with someone else who give me a CHOICE as to whether I edit or not.

There was an article about how "wonderful" this company is in the Baltimore Business Journal earlier this year. Wonderful, my hiney!! The checks bounce, they are an Indian-owned company, the work is beyond horrible. They also have a couple of American companies that they use as a backdoor, and use an American as the representative front person.

An offshoot of one of the major health systems here in the Akron area. Were just recently started and are trying to get their feet wet in the national arena. Primarily were doing nothing but local work just a few months ago and very disorganized at the time. Don't know what they're like now. Benefits seemed good, comparable, but were just getting started. Originally wanted 150 lph with 98% quality and a rather harsh grading scale. For instance, medical word misuse was minus 5 percentage points, omitted (consequential) dictation minus 5 points, medical misspelling minus 3 points, and so on.... Hope this helps!
