JLG pays 21 dollars an hour, that is a fact.

My company pays $15 to $18 per hour for QA but

I was offered a QA position and even at the highest hourly amount, I make at least $3 more transcribing.

Depending on how much discipline I have on any particular day, I make anywhere from $20 to $35 an hour but never any less than $20 an hour on production.  Other than my hands killing me periodically, I would much rather transcribe!!

Okay, 400 LPH is 16 dollars and hour,
Not for me.
Anywhere from 13-15 dollars per hour to start

depending upon whether you are working in a hospital or a private practice.  Private practices are going to pay more, but will probably use Word as opposed to Meditech.  I'm on the East Coast.

8.5-9 means cents per line, not dollars per hour. nm

MQ pays QA by the hour.
xxxxx
I know Webmedx pays $11/hour for 1 week.
I have seen in the past week other companies that pay, but I didn't pay attention to who they were.  I found the info browsing the job boards.
Webmedx pays $11/hour for one week and then
pay 25% above line rate for 3 days to give you some time to build-up production.
I would not go with a company that pays so low
and lies about stuff
Almost every company pays more
Just pick any other company and apply.
My company pays more
For acute care. Where I work, ops pay 2 cpl more than clinic notes. The breadth of knowledge required to transcribe op notes across multiple specialties is significant. Obviously it can be learned, but takes time to get proficient at ops.
I would go 110% with the company that pays more...sm
Some will argue, but a good MT shouldn't have a hard time finding a job. I didn't. They are posted everywhere. Go where the money is! I was in the same situation. Going from platform to platform, account to account, slows you down more than you know. Hop on one train and ride it!
anyone know company who pays weekly?
Are there companies that pay weekly?  Curious.
As an SE the company pays your taxes, but
you have the flexibility with your schedule as an IC.   I have always been an employee so I'm not up on all this, just what I was told at one time, though that was a couple of years ago and rules/regs may have changed.   Don't know how SE would affect you being able to claim business expenses, if at all.
The company I work for pays
for radiology by the line .. .08-.09 depending on your assignment .. our radiology MTs do very well.  The radiology work is MRI, DEXA, PET, ULS, and special studies.  Experience in doing more than plain films is essential.  The work is Monday through Friday as these are all outpatient centers.
The company I work for only pays
or anything else. They say we will go more than twice as much and make big, big bucks.  Do you believe that?  I don't.  4 CPL!!! And I bet you can figure out which company on your own.
What company pays per report for QA?

That is low pay for VR. The company I work for pays almost
twice that. I hate VR. I don't have to do it where I work.
I know a company that pays for 5 if you're off.

My company pays downtime if
there is no work within your scheduled work time.  You don't have to make it up if there is work later either.  They don't guarantee lines though and the amount they pay is less than most MTs would make by transcribing, but it is money coming in.  We went several months where some accounts were running out of work daily, now lots of accounts on OT until further notice.
My company pays very weakly! LOL

IC pays ENTIRE tax to IRS, company does NOT pitch in.
This is a BIG boon for the companies as they try to pay ICs the same (or lower) rate than employees. At the end of the year, you will find yourself owing Uncle Warhead a really big chunk of money - and deductions? Forget it unless you can come up with more than $5,000 worth, which you may be able to do if you are buying a home - be real careful if you are renting. I don't care what anyone tells you. Talk to a tax professional before considering going IC.
Anyone know what a company called Synernet pays? nm

What company pays 18 cpl? I'm familiar with most of the places out there and 18 cpl is unheard o
x
I work IC for a company who pays by check in mail
Never had a bounced check either.  I can see why you would worry though.  Maybe they will do the switch eventually.
Anyone know if Accustat is a good company and pays on time?

Curious

Good company. Pays higher than many. Very high
Pay is always on time (early if payday is on a holiday). Good transcription software. Approachable, friendly management. Benefits okay. (Blue Cross). Also eye & dental. 401K that they also contribute to. Pretty much straight typing, not much in the way of templates. VR in place on some accounts. Currently MT has the choice of using it or not. All in all, I'm satisfied with working there.
I work for a company in Florida too who gladly pays state taxes because
they know it is the law.
Does anyone know if Precyse Solutions is a good company that pays on time and has plenty
of work?
what company gives 24 hour window? - nm
nm
She is definitely an employee. This company in Georgia has 150+ employees. Forty hour
work week is one thing but having them get very upset when you are working 50-60 hours and be nasty when the account is still behind but saying no overtime, no way is a very different thing.  I advised her ask the department to check out this company and out get out of there anyway.
*just two thousand dollars*...
... minus attorney's fees, right?
uh - that's 200 dollars the first day, not lines. nm
.
it says 64 dollars a pay period, below
nm
I just won a million dollars!
I found one on her computer! Now I can buy out Medquist and return it to pre-2006! No more ASR, no cesspool and each of you only will have one primary and a secondary and generous quarterly bonuses which you can actually GET!
dollars to donuts...
that Nuance is also Indian owned. Just a feeling I get. They just have a better U.S. store front.

I just hate to see other MT/QA people get snookered by them. Time will tell, though. Time will tell.
Wow, buy hundreds of dollars
worth of equipment for 6 cpl for them to decide during the probationary period that you weren't going to work out for them?  No thanks.
Equals $21.44 US dollars nm
nm
think, people! If she does 250 lines/hour, same docs daily, will make $15/hour
nm
Cymed Dictation Dollars
Does anybody know what these are?  Is this something new that we haven't been told about yet?  It seems that since they are posting this as a benefit for new-hires that they should inform their current employees about it, or am I dreaming?
"Just two thousand dollars"
I hope you are joking right. That is a lot of money. As a single mom that would probably get me kicked out of my house for not paying rent and get me in trouble for my car payment, cause my utilities to be off, etc. To most of us that is a lot of money. Simple two grand does not describe it for me if that happened to me.
Yes, is that 4000 dollars a month? If so,
At 6 cpl, you must've transcribed around 67,000 lines in that month. Now, do you have any idea what you could've made somewhere else? Well, at 8 cpl, you would've made around $5,360 and at 9 cpl, you would've made $6,030. You are soooo undercutting yourself by staying at a job that only pays 6 cpl.

Oh, and by the way, assuming you work approx. 40 hours a week, you must transcribe upwards of 400 lph. Most companies would LOVE to have someone that fast on board and would pay a whole lot more than 6 cpl for such a high producer!!! You should really check your options.
Okie. Just trying to save someone a few dollars. nm

Wouldn't do QA again for a million dollars. (sm)
Biggest challenge - keeping your sanity while having to fix crappy work over and over and over again while meeting impossible deadlines for really low pay. Believe me, if you can be an MT, you'd be better off financially and mentally. Oh, and no one is going to pay me a million dollars, so I feel confident in saying that. :) Why on earth would you want to transition to QA? Did someone tell you it's a step up??? Reevaluate that statement by searching the archives for commentary on QA problems. There was a long discussion on here a few weeks ago about it. Good luck to you. Choose wisely!
100,000/year - no way. I charge $35/hour and work 10 hour days - sm
AND I DO NOT CLEAR $100,000/YEAR.

what's not to believe - I said that I charge $35/hour and work 10 hour days AND DO NOT MAKE - sm
I DO NOT MAKE $100,000/YEAR

try READING the post.
Ok it is about 64 dollars a pay period for a single person. This is from sm
someone who works here. That also is for the gold plan like I have. That's pretty good.
that must be a typo. 3 dollars and 50 cents a line???
x
Old posts say they pay late and only in Canadian dollars, not US money. nm
s
That would be an extra 50 to 100 dollars in addition to lines and a half. nm
nm
How hard is it to get to the 900 dollars a pay period on Beyondtxt VR to keep the benefits?
Thank You!
