Friend, I wish I had the answer. I am happy at MDI and I have a dear friend who swears Landmark is the best shop on the planet. Another friend really likes Acusis. I think that the whole thing is kind of like dating--a lot of it is chemistry, a lot of it is just finding (dare I say this>) the one. I empathize with you and if we were both in LA, I would take you out for a nice lunch and try to cheer you up. However, I can speak only for myself and I had to get out of MQ--it was toxic and was influencing all phases of my life and affecting not only me but my family, too. All I can say is to keep looking, keep trying. It seems to me that MT jobs are opening up a bit more from what I can see. I wish I had something more concrete to offer you. Just don't give up. Don't give MQ that kind of power over you. Keep trying and, in the famous words of Winston Churchill, never, EVER give up! Good luck! (You are probably young enough to be my daughter and it makes me made to see MTs have to go through this.)

The Q WANTS you to be afraid. It is part of their game. Don't play it or buy into their nonsense. There are many better jobs out there.

Sorry, I meant to say MAD, not MADE in my post above. I think the other poster made a good suggestion to take the MDI deal. I don't like working one weekend day a week, either (that is the only day most of my family have off) but I figure it is much better than bankruptcy or foreclosure that a lot of people face and if working on the weekend is what it takes to keep it together, then I will do it.
sorry wannajump
I saw you had applied at 15 places, but didn't know that you had also applied to MDI... didn't mean for you to have to repeat the whole deal again.

Thanks for the kind words. I am just an old, old lady (mid-60s, so yep, you really could be my daughter!) who believes that especially in this day and time we need to be helping each other rather than unsheathing our claws. These are really trying times. I have a niece who is likely going to lose her house to foreclosure. She has only been married two years, has a 6-month old baby and it is tough. I see things like that, and even though I hate to work every weekend, I just do it and say that one day all of this will be better. I totally love MDI. I also have a dear friend who left MQ when I did and she swears by Landmark, says their QA person is the nicest person on the whole planet and smart, too. I do not know if Landmark would be a possibility for you but they are smaller than MDI so perhaps if you explained your situation and your productivity to them, they might give you a shot at it. I was so burned out after MQ that I really did not want to touch a keyboard again. I am just counting the days until I can retire. Sadly, I would never advise a child of mine (or anyone else's for that matter) to go into MTing today. I will keep you in my prayers, too. You WILL find something. Never lose hope!
