I can't believe you would post something like this. It is a very nice gesture what she is doing. You can't tell me that you would not appreciate if your employer did something nice for you. There are not many companies who do that. Yes, a raise is always nice but come on you were very harsh.

It IS a nice gesture and I didn't mean to be harsh. I'm just saying I've worked for 30 years in business and I know how some in management think -- and I don't like it. Like I said, for those employers who truly value their employees and treat them fairly year round, this is a wonderful gesture. For those employers who couldn't care less and think only in terms of fattening their own pockets and think that saying thank you once a year is enough and use it in place of a raise, you can forget it. I've worked for those kinds and that is what has soured me to this whole week thing. I compare it to honoring your mother on Mother's Day and then never calling her throughout the year. Same principle.

I guess there are different degrees of severity with stuttering, as there are with most things.
I certainly am aware when I do it, I'm sure it's noticeable, and it's terribly frustrating and embarrassing. It doesn't mean (I hope) that I've lost the little intelligence I might have, just that I maybe have a little problem with my wiring. LOL.
I'm sure your friend is a very competent physician. In a field where malpractice lawsuits are filed on a relatively routine basis (with or without merit), I doubt he would still be a physician if he didn't have a high degree of competence and intelligence.
I also don't think people should be so quick to negatively judge a person with this type of disability (or make fun of a person) because someday, they might find themselves with the same ailment. As I found out, it can happen in a split second.

It really is a nice website, the art is fantastic! I am going to keep them on my desktop for future reference. I have never run across them, but they sure seem really down-home. Of course judging a book by its cover, but it really looks like a nice place.

I worked for MQ for a very long time, almost 15 years, and made the switch in January. What a great change it has been for me and it is nice to see offices being built for expansion rather than closing like the one in Tinley Park did with MRC/MQ. I should have made the move 2 years ago, but am glad I finally did it this year.
