I am confused by you stating that you can't find the spellchecker. what do you mean by that? If the dictionary loads, then that is all you need. it runs in the background. you don't see it. it is not visible. it is just basically an addition to your dictionary. when you type in word, type in a specific medical term and if it is not underlined in red, then the spellchecker is working, but pick a hard one that a regular dictionary does not have. if the word is underlined in red, then try to reload, but make sure all other programs are closed, including your email. make sure your dictionary is set to accept an expanded dictionary.

Since it is a demo, that may be most of the problem right there. but, it also sounds like your Word program is not set to recognize it, either. Open a word document...go up to the tools menu...when it opens, there is a tab called spelling and grammar. click on that. another window will open with some settings in it. about the middle of that window is a button called dictionaries. click on that and make sure that it is set for CUSTOM.DIC (default). otherwise it will not recognize that there is another dictionary to be used other than what Word has supplied. I hope this helps. If not, I would contact Stedmans and maybe they have a suggestion for you. good luck.
And how about that awful spellchecker?
More incorrectly spelled words than I have ever seen. Word is by far 100% better.
i don't think the spellchecker is lacking much more than any other
but the bayscribe is not near as comprehensive as dqs, ie, not as many features. but it is also way quicker to learn. Awesome to get a lost report back, no having to call in. easy to see how you were QA'd. Even with less features, i like it better.
Bayscribe and Stedman's spellchecker
Does anyone know if you can use the Stedman's spellchecker with Bayscribe?
Have to provide your own spellchecker and expander
