No. They dropped me to PT because
to their needs but it wasn't me it was the other girl on the account. Anyway they dropped me to PT, she quit, and now they expect me do to the account on a FT basis without giving my FT status or my benefits back.
They dropped the ball with me, too (sm)
I persisted a lot longer than I normally would because I really needed a job and had heard good things about them. I kept on them for weeks, and did eventually get hired. I was with them for quite a while but had to quit because I needed benefits. Still the best MT company I've run across. One account that doesn't run out of work. That makes a lot of difference.

How often have you worked for a company and they lost a huge account and you were fired? I am really getting tired of this career and really need to find another one soon before I go nutters. Company keeps screaming about TAT and hours and keeps threatening that they will fire us or the hospital will terminate the account. We rarely get any positive feedback, individual or otherwise, and when we do get one kudo, its always followed by a BUT..
Anyway, should I be worried.. Should I have another job just in case. I am an IC and get my lines and rarely work other than the schedule I gave but I can't be without a paycheck. We are barely getting by now.

the whole idea of VR, saying that it could not be perfected enough to be profitable for the software company who manufactures it. You are also right in that if something inferior is sold to someone and it doesn't work properly, they won't even think of using it again. In my experience, the C-phone worked the best and even WP5.1 for speed and from my point of view for making the most money. I also used to use Mac and found it to be very fast and efficient.

And those that are getting posted are mostly for places with really bad reputations and/or companies that don't respond to emails.
My line count has dropped due to CPL
I get taxes and insurance taken out of my check but my income went way down when cpl went down. At 11,000 lines of regular transcription at 8 cents a line my take home was around $800 (before taxes/insurance). When speech rec came out and we were not given a choice of regular transcription or speech recognition the CPL went down to 4 cents a line. Now my check is $500 (before taxes/insurance). It makes a big difference!!

It was costing her $350.00 a month for one person. She pays for her office visits in cash and gets a discount because she is under the income level. Same if she goes to the hospital. She gets a poverty discount. I think it is about 20%. Go figure.
I say you need to do away with everything in your sentence after
the word UP. These companies know it is hard work and you don't save any time if you are an MT and they are selling it to the MTs like their job is just to fix the transcription. IF ONLY that were true. In many cases you have to take out the entire transcription and retype it. The companies know this unless they did not test it first. The poor MTs or editors do not know thisSad

Most likely, both The bottom line with this UNDER 40 HOURS paranoia seems to be that, with the combination of no-money VR and straight dictation that is virtually impossible to understand, the MTSOs know that to reach their required daily/weekly line counts that we have to work over 40 hours a week to do so - no way around it.
Therein lies their dilemma: They know we have to work twice the hours to make our lines, but they can't acknowledge it without getting into deep doodoo. They're handing us a double-edged sword.

Commas aren't put in a sentence just for sm
the fun of it. They're there to clarify meaning. A misplaced comma can change the whole intended meaning of the sentence.
Remember, too, you should be following client specs, right or wrong, over BOS. When there are no client preferences, BOS rules. You must do it the client's way as they're the ones paying for your services.
If you truly think it's a personality clash with the QA person, then go over his/her head. Some QA people have no right QA-ing.
One time years ago I was marked wrong for Groshong catheter because the QA person had never heard of it. (She was the owner's relative and did not have that position for very long!)
I hope this problem resolves for you soon. Keep a cool head and try to work things out in a professional, gracious way. Professionalism carries a lot of weight.

I'm lookin for part-time work (about 3-4 hrs daily) after 13 years of full-time, anyone know of a
company that is hiring flexible part-time? I'm starting a career in real estate but don't want to totally quit transcription, but I think most places require 25 hours a week and I cant work weekends, as real estate sales are the biggest on the weekend with open houses and people off work to shows homes to. If you know of a place I'd sure appreciate the info. Thanks!
MDI-Maryland is an excellent company, pay on time all the time, great line rate.
I left also because I went out and got my own client(s).
They are very nice people.
The only negative I can think of were the e-mails from the owner say work, work, work, we are out of TAT.
Other than that, which is very minor, it was a good experience.

I have one full-time job and 2 part-time jobs. It can be tricky at times, sm
but at least I now have plenty of work always. I have some big financial goals, and right now that seems to be the only way to accomplish it. I can't see any reason why it would not be legal -- why would you say that? I am cheating no one, except myself (out of sleep and a social life). Fortunately, I am single with no children or anything. I cannot imagine doing this if I had a family. At least my dogige understands. 
I've been there quite a while, pay on time, growth spurt right now, so good time to get on board,
new accounts and lots of work, and before someone says it, I'm not management, just an employee.
