I have breast cancer - $1,000/mo health ins premium -- govt backed ins for uninsurable - it sure is great if you are healthy now - I was too - INEVITABLE - employer will find reason to drop you when bad health is found out because it raises the group rate -

Why should I pay for anything if I am an employee? Why is the $0.09 quoted for both IC and for Employee? IC does not get the benefits but has the expenses. The pay should be higher for IC than for employee with benefits. Does the employee ever get access to the benefits? Or is that just pie in the sky. Does the employer know the position is really only a temporary job that will slow down to nothing by the 60-90 waiting period for benefits? and that most people will start looking elsewhere when the work dries up, and they got you for $0.09/65 for 60-90 days to cover the workload but did not have to keep you and give you the benefits?

I work as an IC and I expect to make more than I would as an employee who is getting benefits. I have business expenses to cover and still want a decent wage.

I have yet to see an employer on this board that offers a decent wage. I made $18/hr plus benefits 14 yrs ago and that was the norm, not special, just the run of the mill type job.

Do you know of any job held by a man that has decreased in pay?

Why do you put up with this?

Anyone scheduled to work the day after Easter Sunday, call in sick.

All medical transcriptionists will be sick on Easter, Monday.

I am mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore.

It ain't over 'till the fat lady sings.

Pass the word.
