In Reply to: You used to have to go to NJ for training and putting the program on your puter. Don't know about - now. And pay was very low. nm

I have a test pending to do with Silent Type.  I applied because of post on job board and needing extra work.  I do not know anything but hope to learn more after submitting test for them.  Emails from sup seem very nice.

Yes, I work for them and love it. They leave you alone to do your job. Only thing is you have to go to them for training for 2 days. Furnishes PC, have a 24-hour window to get your work done, so that gives me the flexibility I want. Both benefits and pay are very comparable to other services.

Ditto on the insurance - says they some towards the cost, but I find that hard to believe, given how expensive it is - more a catastrophic insurance because the deductible is so high, you'll never meet it unless something horrible happens.  Not many whistles and bells on their platform, but is solid and easy - Word-based.  No way of looking at samples, though, and training leaves a lot to be desired. Must travel to NJ to train.   On a positive note, they leave you alone to work, you have a 24-hour window to get your quota in, and they furnish you with PC.  Hope this helps.

Anyone have trouble getting paid by them or other problems with platform, etc.?
Silenttype
No problems with platform, though pretty cut and dry - not lots of whistles and bells, but is stable. As far as getting paid, I have had no problem, though if you leave there, you may have trouble getting paid your last check (know of someone personally that has happened to) - and they ILLEGALLY hold your last check until return of their equipment.

I was there for a little over a year. I really liked the 24-hour window you get, but very little communication and support from them. If your PC they send you has a problem, you're out of work until you ship it back to them and they get around to sending it back to you, which could be a week to 10 days with no work and no pay. Also, a friend of mine left there, worked her notice, and was not paid for all her PTO she was due..and neither was I. Very bare bones platform they use and very little client information. Doesn't follow BOS, so you have to unlearn much of what you've worked hard to learn, and some of their style rules are undocumented and may change, based on who you ask. The people are very nice there, just too few management staff wearing too many hats, IMO to be effective managers/support staff to the MTs.
SilentType didn't pay me
Anyone else have the same experience?
