Get your facts straight. I said a good MT can do these and should expect them in our line of work.
Why call a doctor "Crappy" because he doesnt do what you want? It is your attitude that makes MT look bad.
I never once was talking about your skills only your attitude.

Personally, I would relocate for the type of job you describe sm
especially under the terms and conditions you descsribed, i.e. relocation fees paid, paid by the line (although of course it would depend upon the line rate), great benefits, at-home option -- what's not to like? I have no ties at my current location, and, in fact, have been thinking of moving somewhere new, just a fresh start in a new location -- sounds kind of exciting to me. I even thought about Alaska. I recently saw an ad by a hospital that was offering a $5000 sign-on bonus! However, as beautiful as it is, with the long days/nights, I do not think I am cut out for living in Alaska. ... sigh. The only drawback, I suppose, would be factoring in the difference in the cost of living. Right now, I am in the midwest and the cost of living is pretty low compared to the east. Still ........... I would love to hear more about the position if you decide to import someone. 
I have been doing medical transcription for about 30 years now, and have been working at home for the last 5-6 years. Something new is always welcome.

For every 40 ESLs I type, I may get
One American doctor and he talks at warp speed slurring his words. All else are ESLs and even they are speaking broken English at warp speed. What happened to the physicians who could speak English and speak clearly?
It is so frustrating and demotivating. I am going to sign on to work now. Oh what fun!

Sounds to me like you are at the wrong company. I have heard that some companies that outsource to other countries keep the really hard work for the American MTs. Wonder if this could be the case with the company you are currently working for.
I would definitely try the new company on a part-time basis if you could. Do you have digital phone offered in your area. I use digital phone which provides unlimited long distance, kept my same phone number and just love it.

Their PTO is good. Lots of ESL's. I wasn't there long enough to see about a raise, but something after 120 days they were supposed to evaluate you for it. They always pay on time. Platform is very easy to learn.
I don't know about their line counting system. I don't trust it only because several times when I would send a job I would keep getting it back several times already typed by myself. I even got a report that was already fully typed from another person, I didn't take credit for it. Trust me, they wouldn't break or abandon a report that long it had no blanks and 1 QA marker. I didn't think it was right. I asked the WFC and she said to abandon it. I got that typed report back every time I would finish a job that day. So I dont know how often that happens, but I didn't like it.
Not trying to bad talk the place, everyone was very nice, nice doesn't cut it..when it comes to work, don't expect any, and don't expect anyone to get back to you about a second acount, plan on working all weekend every weekend.
I don't know about everyone else, but when I pick a schedule, I pick it for a reason, to work it.. not to work every day and every time but that. I don't mind it here and there, but it was EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND. Sayin how they are tired of always having the same people being team players.
They require one weekend day a week. I wasn't able to work any other time really than the schedule I picked
Anyways.. I worked 5 hour days there and I ended up with no more than 200 lines a day.
Might be different for you, but I'm just giving you my experience.

Your right.. the 9-pin is becoming outdated and obsolete. If there is a USB one out there that works then I need to get one. Can I ask where you got yours and have you tried it on a laptop?

They bought another contract and then lost it so had new employees and not enough work to go around

Pay attention. The OP said she was promised a call on Monday and it is now Wednesday. I don't see where your comments are even close to what the OP is trying to put forth.
Another post a while back stated they received a canned text e-mail. How unprofessional is that? If they want to advertise, then they should respond to all applicants no matter what. Let's be grownups now!

ALL companies are out to pocket profit from MTs anymore. No longer is the watching out for their employees (and I'm talking about all companies, manufacturing, etc., not just TT), but GREED/PROFIT is the name of the game.
Mixing VR with standard transcribing is a process that really cuts the lines, at least in my case. I'm not as flexible as I once was. Different set of rules for straight and VR specifications.
It just goes to show ya...
These people have absolutely no idea what we do, the experience and technique required to do medical documentation/transcription and the superhuman auditory prowess required to translate some of these dictators. Oh we type, so we must be clerical. We I can tell you right now that secretaries make at least $15-20.00/hr now days.
$10.00/hr, please. What an insult. If this is the case to stay in business, I suggest everyone up the food chain cut their salaries by 50%.
You know if we were organized and every MT around the U.S. checked out for 24 hours, think of the havoc! They are soooo lucky that we are not, overseas outsourcing notwithstanding.
