retro pay

I apologize, I wasn't very clear.  I am a regular proofer, not an editor in the sense of speech recognition.  Also, you CAN recieve retroactive wages on a pay increase.  In my own office I know of another proofer who received retro on her last review about a year ago, although the retro was only for a few weeks.  I myself also received retroactive wages when working  for another employer.   The difference this time is that the retro is so much, covering all the months they did not address it.  I just wanted to get some advice on how best to go about it, and see if there is anyone out there with a similar experience.
