pay cut

I apologize for stating they are planning on a pay cut.  Actually, I believe the the phrase was new pay rate and at no time did they say it would be lower.  Perhaps they will pay more for ASR. 

In all seriousness, the rate is still to be determined.  If most companies pay 50%, then I suppose they'll go right along with that, which means most people will make 4 cents a line, and new hires could possibly make less.   This is just my idea of what will likely happen.
