Negotiating did not work for me

I asked for more to begin with, but did not get anything more, no matter what.  I guess all my years of experience don't mean squat.

I'm going to bed. I have had enough of today.

Dean Clinic - Not a good place to work. sm
The department supervisor treats employees like dirt, unless you jump the minute she screams or threatens you. They are making things extremely difficult for the long-time people so they quit, and don't have to pay benefits.  Quite a few already have since the first of the year. Anyone thinking about going in there had better turn and run fast, no matter what you may be promised. It's not a good place to work.

Your line rate is good for clinic work.

Good companies hiring for clinic work

Know any good companies hiring for clinic work? I'd rather get lower pay for clinic and have a higher line count than stress out over acute care at this point.

Good company, lots of clinic work, pay on time.
nm
How are the MW accts that use the ExText? Good sound? Lots of work? Acute care or clinic? Thx. nm

Thanks for the advice. The idea of clinic work sounds good, but I do feel comfortable with acute ...
care. I have a lot of experience with operative notes, DS, consults, radiology etc.. but I am not that thrilled with ESLs. It is just harder to make money on them. I think I will look into clinic work. It was only the lack of work that was bothering me about these companies and mismanaging the accounts they did have, broken promises, and just getting the runaround.. over everything from benefits to work.
Recently offered 8.5 cpl - no negotiating.
I told them the $$ was the reason I couldn't accept even though the benefits were good and they said okay, be sure to refer your friends to us.  I don't know how they keep the accounts current on their dictation with the constant help needed.
i would definitely start out with clinic notes first to get a good base.
You need to try to get as much learning as you can in an unrushed way. When you do acute care notes, you are having all medical specialties pushed on you all at once.
Keystrokes clinic MTs, do you make good money?

IME it's hard to make good money doing clinic when paid by the line; some of the notes are only two sentences long.  Just wondering if it's any better at Keystrokes, i.e., good combination of short and long notes.

Medical field is 24/7 work unless you work for a clinic or stand alone operation.
I just look at the other cool people working holidays and weekends in the ICU, ER, paramedics, and am glad to be there. When you work in a hospital for a length of time, it becomes a necessary evil to show up at the worst possible times.

Having a family or a life you'd miss from Friday at 5 PM to Monday at 8 PM must be hard and

I think that there is a place for you where they can meet your requirements (M-F). There are plenty of those jobs.
been with spheris 4.5 years, easy platform, good clinic account
nm
I used to work there and know people who still do...they have no work on clinic account but if you
are acute care or have experience in acute care you will be fine...
Clinic work

Amphion has both clinic work and acute care.  They are wonderful to work for, and I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Clinic work
Can anyone tell me companies that have clinic work?
I did not do just clinic work. SM
I worked at a large teaching facility of 800 beds. I did everything from speech therapy, pain clinic, wound care, surgery, H&P, consults, discharges, physical therapy, letters, oncology, you name it. This was a huge facility. And a teaching facility to boot! I was never rude to the woman or anything of that nature. She actually told me that she lays in bed all day with her laptop doing this work. Maybe she fell out of bed the day I interviewed with her, and it put her in a bad mood. :)

All worked out well in the end because I ended up getting a managerial position that pays $52/year along with incentive and overtime.
I work on it for a clinic and really like it. sm
It took me a few days to get used to it, but the line count is good and I use ShortHand with it. If it is the same clinic, you are lucky. I have been on it for 5 years. They are not usually hiring for this account as no one wants to leave it but my lead told me that they have added some doctors. Good luck !

DRC has clinic work. nm

I take it you still work for them? Are you on clinic or

Does TTS have clinic work in the a.m.
Trying to get that instead of evenings. Thanks.
I do PT clinic work for them...
my account always has lots of work.  The platform I am on is Chartnet which is absolutely my favorite platform - very user friendly.
If you only do clinic work,
you are lucky to get those rates. Acute care is much more difficult and that is what most of us get offered.

If you do clinic work, Yes...sm
Usually anyone doing clinic work instead of acute care can get the Mon-Fri schedule because most clinics don't send in transcription over the weekend hours, and/or have a longer TAT time for their reports than an acute care hospital does. I love clinic work and like Mon-Fri, so that's where I stay.
It has taken away clinic MT work.
My doctor's office uses it. It is a 300-doctor clinic and they have no MTs.

EMR has not affected me personally because I do acute care but it certainly has caused MTs to lose jobs.
What to charge for clinic work...
I was just called by a local clinic and asked to do some overflow clinic work - they are behind and are looking to hire - I'm not interested in leaving my acute care for a national, but wouldn't mind helping them out. I was asked how much to charge and I haven't any idea. Is anyone willing to share what they charge for doing clinic work? I would work at home using my own equipment.
I also do overflow work for a clinic..
I charge 10 cpl, but I know that their other replacement charges 12 cpl. If it were a specialty clinic (mine currently is family practice and easy work), I would charge no less than 12 cpl. I'm not sure but it may also depend on where you live geographically.  I live in Idaho so I'm sure since our cost of living here is fairly cheap and that would be the standard. If you live in a larger place, maybe you could easily ask for more. Just giving you my input..
CLINIC WORK CHARGES
I DO CLINIC WORK ON THE WEST COAST AND IN NEVADA. I CHARGE 0.14/LINE 65 CHARACTERS PER LINE. SPACES, BOLD, ITALICS, AND UNDERLINES COUNT (I USE INSTANT TEXT TO BILL AND SET IT UP THAT WAY SO IT KEEPS TRACK FOR ME. I HAVE FRIENDS WHO CHARGE 0.15/LINE AND 0.12/LINE FOR THE SAME AND ONE WHO CHARGES 0.17/LINE FOR 60 CHARACTER LINE, NO SPACES. IT DEPENDS. I PICK UP, PRINT, DELIVER, FAX (NO EXTRA CHARGE FOR FAXING) AND STORE THEIR WORK, BACK-UP, ETC. GOOD LUCK.
is this acute or clinic work? nm

Question about clinic work...

Are there any companies with clinic work where the work is always available in the mornings and you do not have to wait around all day for whenever the doctors turn their dictations in (which ends up being usually in the late afternoon)?  Or is this typical of clinic work in general?  Any info would be appreciated.  Thank you!

Companies with clinic work
Are there any companies with clinic work where the work is available all the time (and not necessarily assigned in batches at certain times of the day)?  Thank you!
Pretty sure they do have some clinic work (nm)

What do think of their program for clinic work? nm
No message.
Anyone work for Keystrokes (Clinic)....

Can anyone tell me anything about this company?  How is the pay (on time???).   Is there plenty of work?  I was told I would be assigned to one doctor.... what happens if a doc does not dictate one day, can I get a second doc?  Any other help would be appreciated.

TIA

Is ER work clinic rate?
I was hired to do clinic wotk but over half my work is ER with ESL doctors and interns.  Shouldn't this be paid at a higher rate, or am I dreaming.
I only get 0.07/cpl for multi-clinic work--

Does anyone know of any companies that have clinic work?

Hi, I would like to do clinic work instead of acute care. I would like to know if anyone know of any companies that have clinic work. Your reply back will be highly appreciated! Thank you so much!

Also, sorry if this post shows up twice. I tried posting this question already but I don't see it so I thought I would try posting it again....Again, thank you!

I need to go back to clinic MT work
It seems like all VR is are ESL physicians.  I think I need to go back to standard typing clinic work again so that I can pay my bills.  My wrists will hate me for it though

Who is paying better for clinic work?
I have 10+ yrs experience also but and I am a slow typer so clinic work is about the only way I can make any kind of a line count. I have been avoiding the 7cpl clinic work because I can't find anything that pays better. Where are these clinic jobs anyway?
Keystrokes and clinic work....sm
Does Keystrokes offer clinic work?  Thanks
Well to me it seems to be the other way around, I want clinic work and it seemes all that's
out there is acute, go figure:(
Funny you should say that...M-F clinic work is exactly what I do;) sm
Like one poster said, the Su-Th or Tu-Sat scheduling seems to have become trendy.

I'm very content with the company and schedule I have. I just keep my eyes on the board to see what is available.
I'm making 9.5 for clinic work

I work for local clinic 17 cpl
But it's only two doctors and another MT and I split the work.
Do you need a second line or Cphone to work for QT? Do they have clinic? nm

No, you don't need C-phone or a second line, and yes, I believe we do have clinic work. nm
