Thank you Maddy, any help is greatly appreciated at this point. I haven't worked in over two months now, medical reasons and the company I was with never had any work available. I should have already started work with this new company (TSI) but I keep getting told that they are having problems with Dictaphone or the doctors don't want to do what is necessary on the new platform, etc., etc. I just want to get to work. I have a family to take care of and bills to pay. I can't do that on we're getting there, just hang tight. Anyway, my email addy is kwdevrie56@aol.com. the email addy is because it keeps kicking back
There are about four people who have that email addy (it's just like yahoo, hotmail or aol), but this particular email addy keeps kicking back as undeliverable.
MTstars was the only place that this position was posted, so this is why I reposted it ... so that I could get in touch with those particular people.

They should have paid holidays so that you are paid if you take off. Also should inculde extra hours for sick days and personal days.
That annual raise of .002 is kind of a joke especially when at the same time they upped the minimum line requirement from 10,000 lines to 12,000 lines.
OSi just does not have the qualified people in management positions that I wish to work for.
I am glad that you are happy at OSi and all is working out for you. Their dishonesty and the way they treat people just does not work for me.
Of course they can get by cheaply by hiring unqualified people so that is very good for the owners.

So DISABILITY is probably the key word here. Also, while there may be PARTS of the job that are exploitative, not all parts ARE, and no one has been forced to accept any home MT position. It is all choice. We may choose to allow others to treat us badly because there are some positive aspects to the job. To some degree, every time you work for someone else, you are being exploited.
I'm not sure if their insurance includes
preexisting or not but it is United Healthcare if that helps at all. Work load was slow over the holidays but right now work it is out of control. We've been on OT since last week due to every account just exploding with work. This work is on the Merit accounts, not sure of EXtext. PTO is pretty good. All the major holidays, plus a floating holiday which you can use for your birthday, and sick days accumulate with hours worked. Been a while since I asked how they figured sick day hours but for every so many hours worked, you get 1 hour of sick day. Hope this helps.
I could be wrong, but they can only monitor you...
when you are connected via their VPN. Then whatever surfing you do can be tracked. But if you are not logged onto their VPN and you are using your own internet connection, then they can't see you at all. Then again, who knows what technology is available out there and what companies are capable of.

On the left of this page, after MT Birthdays, there is Monitor Board, try posting there.
Pay is based on 65 characters and includes
spaces. Line rate is based on experience, if you have CMT, and shift. There may be some other things too. I don't know 100%, but I'm pretty sure they offshore. Get conflicting stories about accounts depending on who you talk to. I think pay is average, PTO is accrued based on lines and is available immediately. You can take in $$ or time off I believe. Not sure of other benefits because I had already decided after talking to them that I wasn't going to take a position with them, so didn't pay attention to benefits.
One word, they do not monitor their workload
Simple thing to do, then everyone would have enough work, but they refuse. You will never have enough work, they do not care, they just want the work done. You are just a number, they will promise you the moon, and definitely not come through.
The companies don't own these boards nor monitor them. nm

Lee Perfect - but you need to know Emdat software. Lextel - in California. They were paying 7.5 for MT and 4.5 for QA positions. Mediscript Transcription - need your own LD and C-phone. QT - don't think they're hiring, though. Last ad was from 2005. Old posts say trouble making lines there. West Tran Group - you need Word 2003 and they use IntraScript software. ....This is all the info I have. I have no contact info and no emails or website info. The account I am on has very strict shifts because of being radiology. I have heard that others are more flexible.

I don't know if they have clinic work. However, if you are an experienced MT, I would think that they would hire you even if you don't do ops. They use Doc-Q-Scribe (sp?) for at least one of their big hospital accounts out of Atlanta. They offer benefits, but I have heard that the health insurance is very expensive. I would imagine that they are hiring.
I used to work for the owner years ago when she had another service, and she had the same right-hand man (er, lady LOL) as she does now. They were always very good to me, and I really wish I still worked for her though I have a good job now somewhere else.

not 100% sure, but I think you had a choice of Sun-Th or Tu-Sat schedule. We haven't run out of work, but things are staying very caught up, so I would say they aren't hiring. I do know a new account is coming, but don't know time frame for that. You can apply through their website and you should get a response within a couple of days at most if they are hiring.

in the box their name shows up in blue in the post and you can e-mail them by clicking on that. If there is no blue they did not leave their e-mail addy. In that case you can leave a post with your e-mail addy and ask them to e-mail you, otherwise you can't go e-mail.

Because the girls that monitor the accounts in the office were told the accounts either go on DQS or
move on. All accounts to be with MQ must be on DQS and no more different platforms. ONE ONLY DQS. They can send more work overseas then.

Of course our anger is directed towards the companies and not toward any worker trying to make a living. This is an emotional topic, but we have a right to make a living too. These companies started in the USA, benefited from Americans and then decided to go overseas not to provide a better service but just to make more money. And not only are jobs are affected but also the loss in tax revenues.

You have set a double standard by saying keep the personal remarks out of it when you opened it by making IMHO a snide remark about MTs who want to keep American jobs in America by working at times that non-Americans workers normally cover. In the middle of an otherwise very well handled discussion by those affected by the merger, IMHO I do not believe you did service to Transcend by having made the remark you did. Even other Transcenders have posted that it did not prove useful to cover other shifts and had difficulty finding enough work.
Indeed you have a right to your opinion, but if it is respect and support you are looking for, perhaps consideration to what you have to offer would get different results.
