It appears to me that everytime anyone asks about Medware or if someone posts something negative a group of regulars who claim to be MTs (more likely owners or recruiters) come on here and cheer up how great the place is. Their line rate is limted, they have their own Indian company (which if you read between the lines is their highest priority), their insurance is high and their attitude is if you don't like it - leave! Not sure that's a company worth much time looking at.

My guess is this is Indian owned - may have someone in US - most do - I worked for a small local company that sold to Indians - they are still here in a small office sending work to India. Sounds suspiciously like their English.

If I were suspicious that I was doing a "virgin" report,
I might be tempted to call the hospital's medical records dept. and ask if job # XXXX-XXX has been transcribed yet, or is still in the workpool.
I've very suspicious too. I hesitated last night
especially when I could find nothing on a search for them on the internet. Is Jax short for Jacksonville maybe?
Look below..sounds like EVERYBODY is happy there...Kind of makes me suspicious LOL.
I have never seen a company that EVERYONE likes but this may be it..

A few weeks ago I went to my clinic where they had recently implemented EHR or EMR, whichever you call it, and the doctor's back was to me the whole time he and I conversed because his nose was stuck in his laptop. To me, it felt a little more impersonal, but I understand he was doing what he had to do, but it seems like the bedside manner may go to the wayside if the doctors can't even look at you when they are asking you questions or you are speaking to him/her. I know this is relevant to your original post, but just an interesting fact that I had not anticipated. Anyone else experience this?

what the company pays, but NEVER what I make. I know that I make more than probably 70% of the people there, because they know I produce a client ready report and that I can do anything they throw at me. We don't have levels, but I guess if we did I'd be at the highest level. Telling how much you make isn't so bad, but when people know what company you work for and then what you make that isn't a good combination. The ONLY people I have ever discussed what I make with, are my husband and my MTSO owner. Talking about your salary/pay is enough to get your fired in lots of companies.

the recruiter. Once you are in with the company, the recruiter has nothing to do with you or your job. I want specifics about problems with THE JOB, not the recruiter. Specifics such as no or late checks, line counts being messed up, no work, taking bennies away with no explanation. Things that matter, not the recruiter.

unless you go through an anonymizer, your IP address can be traced back to you, even through the guises of this web site. There are web sites you can find on the internet to do this for you, or if you are 18 years old and like to hack, it's an easy enough thing to do.

I wish some MTs would start thinking about the business aspect of the industry. For example, this is a public site, so go to Google or another search engine and type [the co's name] and per line, and voila! now everyone knows how much you pay your MTs.

I went through their whole testing bit, got called twice for interviews, once with a guy and then once I passed the test, some lady called me. They said I did well on the test, but they only offered me 7.5 cpl (5 yrs exp). I need more than that so chose to not go with their company.

Love my account, direct deposit every 2 weeks and the insurance is affordable. My supervisor is really cool and understanding, we get along great. 1 year and counting, hope for many more. Good luck to you.

Hi! I just started with them last week and so far it has been really great. They are all really nice and I have had wonderful training. You get paid by the hour for the first 4 weeks so you have time to learn the system (which the system itself is excellent and extremely easy)Your rate is determined by experience so I don't know other than my own. I guess you have to ask them about the schedule, but mine is just what I need. The staff is very, very nice. I think you would really like it. If you will notice, there is tons of negative stuff about all the MT companies on this board, but Medware has a lot less negative than some of the others (I looked through it before I started.) I think you should try it.

ty so much for your response. w/ so many companies out there unsure of what to do. I have been transcribing for 3 years and just getting my line count up. Plus being fairly new on the block was unsure whether I would fit in. Just how easy would it be for a fairly new comer to fit in. I had 16+ years experience and Medware paid me the same as a newbie because I didn't have my CMT, although I was considered a Level III transcriptionist. Also, having your CMT, you are still maxed out on the pay. I had heard that Medware wasn't really hiring anymore MT because they were outsourcing to India and they were only hiring editors or turning MTs within the company into editors. At one time, they were a good company to work for. I have been gone for a year so things may have changed. This was just my experience with the pay scale.

Medware is still hiring MTs. Only one area of the company deals with the Indian transcription. Everything else is still done by US transcriptionists. There are 6 levels of pay -- level I, II, and III for both certified and non-certified MTs. A recruiter could better give you an idea what those rates are.

I worked for OSi for 2 yrs and recently left to join Medware. Medware is a better run company. Their people are more professional and knowledgeable. It is just a great place to work!!
