We all have brains
and can think for ourselves. I speak the truth, and I am very happy with OSi. I admitted they aren't perfect, but no company is. We have all read the archives and know what has been said. Obviously those unhappy with OSi left because they were unable to perform proficiently. Cool down a little. We are all entitled to our opinions, which is all I am giving.
Nonsense! It's not a pay cut. Engage brains! SM
For goodness sakes. How hard is it to understand: You produce more lines in the same time because you're cruising through the documents faster, so you're paid less per line. This meeting showed their average-worker example actually came out a bit better.
If you don't want to lose out, stop complaining about everyone else and determining to see yourselves as victims. It's dumb. As dumb as that there are people who are doing badly on the new platform because they're refusing to learn the new keystroke shortcuts. If that isn't self-defeating, what is? And of course, if they're not doing that, they're also not building all the additional shortcuts so many of us use to speed our work up and turn it into $$$$.
For myself, I learned eScription as quickly as possible, learned Enterprise as quickly as possible, developed my Expanders as quickly as possible, and will be learning this new platform as quickly as possible.
I'm interested in hearing how the averages work for high producers. I'm not in the top bonus category, but it seems to me there's not the same advantage to them in increased production from the bonus system unless an additional tier to achieve is established. They're already there.
While we pound our brains out until our backs ache and our wrists crack and pop
The trend toward more and more hospitals hiring for work-at-home MTs is helping and if they'd all go that route it would solve the problem.
Why can't companies at least let you know you were not picked for a job?
Yeah, yeah, I'm sure they are bombarded with people testing, but when you think of the hours spent for MTs trying to find a new job, and they take all those MTtest.com tests while still trying to work all day, only never to hear a peep back is hard to take. A simple thanks, but no thanks would go a long way in my book. I am sick of wasting my time.
Please. Yep, they picked 1 MT to send it to.
Looks like I picked the 2 right choices TY!

I just picked that out thin air. nm

I actually picked up a stalker
several years ago from another website. A pretty frightening experience!
If you want to be nit-picked to death
Then by all means, hire on with Keystrokes. I had just started with them but after I saw my review, I told them I did not want to work for them. They nit-pick every comma, etc., to death and there was no way I was going to put up with that. These services get so carried away by all the insignificant crap that they just drive away anyone who is a good MT but doesn't want to put up with the nit-picking. Good luck.
Has any company said thank you to those who have picked up the extra
work for those who are "out of service" from the hurricane? I have worked my fingers to the bone to keep a few accounts happy, no thanks, no overtime, no bonus. Guess I am the dummy here.
Love it here. I picked my shift, and
I enjoy it. Great benefits (I pay 236 a PP for full family insurance PPO with dental and vision!) plus PTO, holidays, and never ever late pay with direct deposit. The staff is awesome and I love my platform.
She tries to be nice..gets picked on for a typo..(sm)
and SHE'S hateful? You people are too much.
FATCAT - Has your worked picked up?
I've read your posts for years and know you've been happy at MDI, as have I. My main account has FINALLY picked up this week. Was wondering if things have picked up for you as well. I'm breathing a huge sigh of relief and working as much as I can. FINALLY!
Has the workload at MDI picked up for anyone? My accounts are still really low. nt

If you think you dont get more of the junk work when it is picked over by VR or ASR you had better
think again. The best attendings will be gone to VR and you will get the leftovers. I have been doing both for a year and I can guarantee you your CEO is full of it. Dont believe a word of it. You will either make less money on ASR or less money on the leftovers. Take you choice.
Amen to that - I have years of exp but never felt picked on here. nm
.
It was slow on one of my accounts this summer but picked up. sm
If I were you, I would go to Karyn or Becky, not Martha. Both of them will help you. I think Martha is too busy with new hires but the other two are great with back-up accounts or at least getting the names in front of Martha. Just a friendly tip, not meant to offend or cause flames.
Have picked up a PT job on the side. Hoping all works well with WMX, but (sm)
not going to disappoint the grandchildren at Xmas and birthday times.
The only problem with picking up a PT job is you lose flexibility in making up hours/lines with WMX because you are otherwise obligated. Oh well, I don't think that can be considered my fault. I just don't want to use up my PTO because of it. Will they just let you take unpaid time if they run out of work during your window or do they make you use PTO or make it up?
Than mystery jobs randomly picked by mgmt.
bonuses/weekend/night shift differential is much rather preferred by me in the Dallas office than those jobs picked at random by "who knows who".
Good dictators end up on ASR so it can only get worse. My accounts are all picked over.
:
Same thing happened to me last year and when it picked up, it was crazy sm
For the rest of the year.
Tired: Has worked picked up at FN. Used to work there and left for WX. sm
Would kind of like to go back. Loved the gang; I used to be a YOGer. Had to leave about 1-1/2 years ago because of no work. Still mostly IC? Thanks.
Con: Overflow work is cherry-picked from the git-go by the account's inhouse MTs. nm
x
Me too. As soon as there is a little extra work they hire and hire and then noone has any. This
goes on all the time. I get sick to death of it. I think having 2 part time jobs is better so you have 2 jobs to count on.
Does KS only hire employees or do they hire ICs too? nm
x
LOL!!! They would hire anyone, they just need to get
YIKES!!!
DSG does hire ICs
hire-on?
no, I took their test on-line though...I am shopping around right now for a fair well-known company with a simple format -- I just want to transcribe and be paid for it, none of this tier stuff
Yes they hire IC as well, which is what
I would suggest as this company is not very loyal to their employees.
Do you know if they hire nm
n
Do they hire FT and PT? Thanks! nm
x
they either over hire or have a lot
of MTs leave because they have been running ads for several months now. I would be leery of that.
Do you know if they hire IC's? nm
x
Yes, they hire ICs.
xx
Why? You want to hire us??
do they only hire FT or do they hire PT as well?
I thought I seen a post somewhere on here that said only FT. I really don't want to work more than 30 hours a week and I know most places cut FT at 32 hours a week. Not that I couldn't put in 2 more hours, but if I had a choice....
Does MDI-MD hire PT
Thanks :)
Also do they all hire from within?
nm
they hire from within if possible. nm
.
they hire only SE's, which is almost
like an IC or independent contractor. Therefore, no, they provide no machine, no benefits, etc. You pay most of your own taxes too.
I believe they do hire ICs
.
new-hire
I just took a position with MD-IT Portland. I am very optimistic about this! It was a much higher line rate than I had with MedQuist, and for now they pay the same for straight transcription as they do for Speech Recognition. They are providing all of my equipment - as I am going to one of their accounts where they do, and it is mostly my favorite work type, ERs.
If you do not do ops they will not hire you.
I hate ops and have never had a problem getting hired and paid decent but this company will not even look at you if you do not all 4 acute care. I wish I liked ops but do not. I applied for this company and this was the first time in my 9 years experience that I have had a company turn me down so their loss as far as I am concerned....
They hire both but I don't believe there are any...sm
benefits other than them paying the taxes for you when your a employee...
They do hire for less than that
They hire PT and there is still
8 hours be done on one weekend day though.
So would you hire....sm
Someone to paint the entire interior of your house - as an independent contractor - and allow him to do it any hours he pleases as long as he does some painting every 24 hours?
no, but I would hire
someone to paint the exterior of my house - as an independent contractor - and allow her to do it any hours she pleases as long as she does a previously arranged percentage of my house within a 24-hour time period. I think this is closer to the way being an IC works. At least, this is how it is for me. I have to complete x number of lines within 24 hours, but whether I do it in the first hour or the last hour or anything in between is up to me.
Do they only hire ICs?
x
Why hire me just to get rid of me?
Bizarre. I don't think that's it but who knows at this point.
New Hire
I have 2 years experience and passed their test the first time and was recently hired. I have heard bad and good. I intend to do my job and as long as I am compensated for my work, it is a job.
REMEMBER THE COUNTRY'S UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IS IN THE DOUBLE-DIGITS PRESENTLY AND BE THANKFUL YOU CAN FIND A JOB.
